In the afternoon, after finishing bathing, I was already prepared to depart to that people's celebration party. When I wanted to go out to approach Sherubiel and Mendicore's room, suddenly the two of them were already visible in front of the door. I was briefly startled and Sherubiel only chuckled seeing my expression. I already suspected this was her doing.
"I have been waiting at Sir David's house since earlier but you all never came..." I complained while we walked out of the apartment.
"Oh... don't blame me, Johann. This was Sherubiel's idea..." Said Mendicore.
I immediately looked at Sherubiel with a slightly sulky expression. Sherubiel's face only blushed shyly.
"Forgive me, Johann. Actually my intention was to give private time only for Johann and Lord David..."
That answer immediately made me smile faintly. They apparently were beginning to understand my special relationship with David even though I had never told them at all that it initially came from just a game.
"As compensation you all must accompany me to pick up Sir David at his house."
"Oh... you already informed Him about this event?" Asked Sherubiel.
"Yes, when I visited this morning. It seems nobody has invited him yet..."
"Do you remember that Commander Gruzhnil also likes inviting Lord David? It seems he already informed Him beforehand." Said Mendicore.
My thoughts were similar with Mendicore regarding that.
"However... Sir David is already in a different hierarchy than before. I feel he would become reluctant to invite him like an ordinary colleague."
Mendicore became silent hearing my comment. When we arrived at the entrance door, the guard soldier immediately informed me that Gruzhnil had already picked David up to that celebration event and said if I came directly I was requested to immediately go there.
I then glanced at Mendicore with an embarrassed expression. Even so I actually felt relieved that my perception was disproven.
We walked to the center of the capital where crowds of people accompanied by various kinds of tents, small buildings and... amusement rides were already visible. Tables were arranged in very long rows in the middle of the road. Decorations of lights and flag ropes were hung above those tables.
"Try finding where Commander Gruzhnil or Sir David are, Mendicore..." I requested.
Mendicore began rotating its body around the entire area. It didn't take long, Mendicore immediately appeared to find them in the northeast direction.
"Ahhh... there they are! Let's go there!"
We immediately hurriedly walked following Mendicore. After arriving, apparently only Gruzhnil was visible there while chatting with the people and tent staffs. He immediately beamed seeing the three of us.
"I'm very happy to meet you all again. Sorry if I didn't pick you up. I also honestly forgot to inform The Great Lord David. Initially I was reluctant to directly invite Him, but unexpectedly He immediately accepted it at that moment too."
"Commander, Sir David still remains like before even after this war. So don't become afraid to talk with him again..." I said while smiling.
Gruzhnil immediately laughed while scratching the back of his head. He immediately informed me of the place where David was. We immediately headed there. I thought about how other people viewed David with his current status. It was unimaginable that when passing David, they had to bow first before him. I was sure David also would not feel comfortable even though he directly ignored it.
When almost arriving I could see David sitting alone at one end of the bench while observing the surrounding activities. As I expected, people passing him immediately bowed their bodies either stopping briefly or while walking slowly. Perhaps David wanted to try those tent stalls but was still reluctant. Why did Gruzhnil not ask what David wanted?
"Johann! Me and Mendicore want to try several rides. Do you want to join us later?" Said Sherubiel.
"I want to approach Sir David first, you all go have fun first..."
The two of them immediately went away leaving me. I searched for food stalls that could be given to David. I immediately headed toward one of those stalls. Visitors were still crowded at the stall I wanted but when the cook saw me, he immediately asked what I wanted to order. I smiled, thanked him and ordered for me and David.
While waiting as the cook prepared it, suddenly I was startled when someone tapped my shoulder from behind. I immediately turned around and it turned out to be Glynpatra who appeared to be laughing softly.
"It seems like Princess Glynpatra has been very busy so you has no time to visit us..."
"Hahahaaa... you miss me too right, Johann! Sorry because I'm also busy following order of my father..."
"Is that not good? Because Emperor Gregustus wants to prepare Princess so you can lead Grivendal in the future."
"Actually it's not like that. This is more personal again..." Said Glynpatra lowering her voice.
Glynpatra then told that yesterday she met several men introduced by her father from other planets still under his authority. However she felt not yet ready to become someone's partner forever even though Glynpatra saw those men didn't have anything strange. Suddenly I remembered Grelmure's words regarding Glynpatra's tendency in male type during the palace banquet on the imperial holiday long ago.
"Unusual for you to be alone here? Where are the others?"
"Mendicore and Sherubiel are playing on the rides available. I'm ordering food for me and Sir David who is sitting there. Does Princess want to order too?"
Suddenly Glynpatra's cheeks turned bit red and she became awkward. I was already familiar with that reaction when saying David's name.
"Johann, according to you can I approach Lord David? How can you speak casually with Him???" Said Glynpatra while still lowering her voice.
"Don't be that afraid, Princess. Speak like an ordinary friend! Indeed Sir David will respond in a style different from most people. However according to me he respects anyone who interacts with him normally. My suggestion is say narrower questions to him."
Then a cook gave me the food already finished being made namely burger and steak. I immediately took them. Suddenly an idea came out.
"I once treated Sir David to this food and he accepted it. Try approaching him and eating together at Sir David's table. Don't say this is from me, okay!" I said smiling while handing the burger and steak to Glynpatra.
Initially Glynpatra appeared doubtful and finally carried out my idea. I ordered my food again and waited while watching her from afar. When Glynpatra arrived at the table, David immediately glanced at her. Glynpatra was silent briefly, shyly she appeared to begin speaking, sat before him and gave that plate of burger. I felt very happy when David began eating his burger likewise Glynpatra with her steak.
After receiving the finished steak and taking drinks at the stall beside it, I saw Gruzhnil had already approached and sat beside Glynpatra. Immediately I went there and directly sat near David. I chatted with Gruzhnil and Glynpatra regarding the atmosphere of this celebration. David only observed the three of us while continuing his burger meal. Not long after someone approached us and apparently it was Mendicore, Sherubiel and... Grelmure.
"How can you be together with them, Sir Grelmure?"
"Ahhh... finally we meet here too Johann. I was at one of the rides and accidentally met Miss Sherubiel and Mendicore. After that we immediately hurried toward you."
"You should have been near uncle, not leaving him under the excuse of having fun..." Said Glynpatra to Grelmure jokingly.
Gruzhnil immediately burst into laughter followed by us except David. Gruzhnil immediately told them to take foods from the tent. After that we all sat together at one table while eating food and chatting.
"Lord David, do You want a celebration like this to be held again? I will tell father if You want it." Asked Glynpatra directly to David. We all immediately looked at David. He then looked at all of us.
"Yes..." he answered flatly.
Glynpatra's cheeks immediately turned rosy red hearing his answer until she lowered her head briefly. Me and the others only smiled seeing her reaction. We continued the meal together under the sparkle of lights at night and the sounds of traditional Grivendal music.
I slowly observed them all and David again. In my heart this was the greatest happiness right now, gathering together on ordinary benches without looking at each respective status. I really wanted everything together like this for as long as possible.
"Oh yes... coincidentally you are here. I want to announce something. I want Johann to become my secretary later. Don't worry later, you will be assisted by Grelmure. So you will not lose much of your free time. Do you want it, Johann?" Said Gruzhnil.
My body suddenly froze hearing that. Actually in my heart I could not accept all facilities like this while lazing around continuously even though this was a reward for my achievement in yesterday's war. I remembered when the first day stranded here I wanted to become The Graendall's advisor with the goal only of getting close to David. Now I thought I had to contribute to this empire.
"Yes. I agree, commander." I answered firmly.
Everyone except David applauded enthusiastically. Gruzhnil appeared very happy and he shook hands with me as a sign of acceptance. I then glanced at David and he was looking at me.
