"Roar!~"
The Nine-Tailed looked at Naruto, who wore a bright smile. Its eyes flickered slightly, then it turned its head away disdainfully and said, "Brat, I'm not falling for that."
Although he said that, the Nine-Tailed's tail behind him was wildly swaying. The fist he had intended to retract couldn't help but extend again, bumping Naruto's fist once more.
"Hehe!~"
Seeing this, Naruto's smile became even brighter as he said, "Big Fox, now that the seal has been released, do you think I've become your perfect Jinchuriki?"
Even though Naruto already knew the Nine-Tailed's name, he still preferred to call him Big Fox.
"Not yet."
The Nine-Tailed retracted his fist, turned to look at Naruto, and said seriously, "Originally, for you to perfectly control my Chakra, it would only require my willingness. However, your father added his Chakra to the seal, so for you to become my perfect Jinchuriki, you still need to clear out that Chakra."
"Eh? There's such a thing?"
Naruto was greatly surprised upon hearing the Nine-Tailed's words. He then touched his abdomen and murmured, "So, my father's Chakra is still inside my body?"
"That's right."
The Nine-Tailed nodded, then said with disdain, "Although the purpose of your father adding his Chakra to the seal was to help you control my Chakra better, now that Chakra has become an obstacle to you perfectly controlling my Chakra. His action was simply being too clever for his own good."
"Cough, cough!~"
As soon as the Nine-Tailed finished speaking, an unfamiliar voice sounded from the side, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Nine-Tailed, although what you said makes sense, it's not a good habit to badmouth me in front of my son."
"Hmm?"
Naruto and the Nine-Tailed both turned toward the voice. They saw a man with yellow hair and blue eyes, handsome and radiant, standing not far away and looking at them with eyes full of tenderness.
"It's you!"
The Nine-Tailed's anger immediately surged when he saw this figure, and he shouted, "You still dare to appear before me, you damned Fourth Hokage!"
There were two people the Nine-Tailed hated the most in his life: one was Uchiha Madara, who forcibly captured him and made him a summoned beast, and the other was the Fourth Hokage, who split him into two parts and sealed him.
And that was the man now standing before him and Naruto—Minato Namikaze!
"Yo, long time no see, Nine-Tailed."
Minato Namikaze smiled and greeted the Nine-Tailed, then looked at Naruto. With a swish, he appeared before him. His gentle smile carried a trace of apology as he said somewhat awkwardly, "Hello, Naruto, nice to meet you. I am your father, Minato Namikaze."
"Father—"
Naruto looked at the handsome man, his expression complex. Or rather, he didn't know what expression to use to face his father.
Naruto had imagined many scenarios of meeting his parents, each deeply etched in his mind. However, in those images, his parents' faces were always blank. Now that his true father suddenly appeared—and so clearly—it made him feel somewhat unreal.
"Um—"
Naruto awkwardly scratched his head and opened his mouth, wanting to call him "Father," but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
At this moment, Minato Namikaze suddenly stepped forward and hugged Naruto tightly, whispering in his ear, "I'm sorry, Naruto."
Minato Namikaze's emotions were actually similar to Naruto's. He had countless things he wanted to say to his son, but he didn't know where to begin.
Thousands of words, yet in the end, only an apology came out.
"Why are you saying sorry?"
Naruto looked at his father, trying to smile, and said, "I've never blamed you. On the contrary, when I found out my father was the Fourth Hokage, my first reaction was to feel very proud—although at first there was a little misunderstanding, I've thought it through now."
"Mm!"
Minato Namikaze smiled and nodded, then raised his hand to stroke Naruto's head. "Thank you, Naruto. Thank you for understanding me. Speaking of which, when I decided to seal the Nine-Tailed inside your body, your Mama was against it at first. Now it seems… perhaps she was right."
Although Minato Namikaze's Chakra was meant to appear only when Naruto released the Nine-Tailed's Chakra up to the eighth tail, it had already awakened when Naruto and the Nine-Tailed first bumped fists.
From that moment on, he could see everything happening outside through Naruto's perspective.
Even though Naruto's situation in Konoha had improved by then, Minato could still infer what his son had gone through during childhood.
At first, he comforted himself by thinking the Third Hokage had concealed Naruto's identity for protection.
But later, after observing their interactions, he realized that was no longer the sole reason.
That was when Minato began to reflect: Was sealing the Nine-Tailed inside his son truly the right decision?
"No problem!"
Naruto gave a bright smile and a thumbs-up. "No matter what led to your decision, Dad, I'll accept it completely—because I'm the son of the Fourth Hokage!"
Minato was momentarily stunned, then smiled. "That's right. You are my son. I believed from the beginning that you would tame the Nine-Tailed and become the Village's hero!"
"Hey, hey!~"
The Nine-Tailed immediately became displeased, extending a claw and slamming it down in front of Minato. "What do you mean 'tame'? What do you take me for?"
"Ah, sorry, sorry!~"
Minato smiled awkwardly. "What I meant was—I believed Naruto would become good friends with you. Yes, that's it!"
"Do you think I'll believe you?"
The Nine-Tailed rolled his eyes, then said, "The Chakra you left behind is almost used up. You'd better hurry and say what you need to say."
"What?"
Naruto immediately became anxious. "Big Fox, what do you mean? What happens when my dad's Chakra runs out?"
Minato gently interrupted and said with a smile, "I originally left this Chakra to prevent you from making mistakes… but now that you and the Nine-Tailed get along so well, it's no longer needed."
He trailed off, unable to finish.
Then he suddenly changed the subject. "Naruto… do you want to see your Mama?"
Naruto's eyes lit up instantly. "Can I?"
"Of course."
Minato smiled gently. "Back then, I sealed both my Chakra and your Mama's into you. It's time for you to meet her."
After forming hand signs, he placed his hand on Naruto.
A surge of Chakra rose—and transformed into a woman with long red hair.
Kushina Uzumaki.
"Eh?"
She blinked, then saw Minato. "Minato? Is that really you?!"
She rushed forward—then suddenly froze upon seeing the Nine-Tailed.
Instantly, she moved in front of Minato protectively.
"It's alright, Kushina," Minato said gently. "He's not an enemy anymore."
Then he guided Naruto forward. "Kushina… this is our son. Naruto."
"Son…"
Kushina stared blankly for a moment.
Then suddenly—
She pulled Naruto into a tight embrace and burst into tears.
"Mama—"
Naruto gently patted her back.
She froze, then pulled back slightly, eyes trembling. "C-Can you say that again?"
"Mama!~"
At that, she broke down completely.
"I'm sorry, Naruto! Mama is so sorry!~"
Minato stepped forward and gently embraced them both.
For a brief moment—
The family was finally together.
