Seven Ring: First Stage Vol. 2
Chapter 50: The Deal Beyond Death
The story continues from where it last ended.
Velldora looked at Jake Lee and spoke in a calm voice.
"I cannot bring her back to life."
Jake Lee's expression remained cold.
"Then there is no deal between us. We can fight right here, right now... or I can simply leave."
A faint smile appeared on Velldora's face.
"You can't leave that easily. I need this deal to happen. It seems I'll have to show you the power of my Second Ring Stage."
He raised his weapon.
"Born to Life."
A brilliant emerald light erupted from the weapon, flooding the entire area. The radiance was so intense that Jake Lee could see nothing but green.
Seconds later, the light slowly faded.
Jake's eyes widened.
Standing before him was his student.
Alive.
Breathing.
Real.
The girl suddenly screamed in terror.
The memories of her death were still fresh in her mind. She remembered the burning pain, the flames that had consumed her body, and the moment her life ended.
Instinctively, she stepped away from Jake.
Fear filled her eyes.
She knew exactly how ruthless and cruel her master could be.
Her legs trembled uncontrollably.
Jake Lee stood frozen.
For a brief moment, shock overwhelmed him.
However, he quickly buried his emotions deep inside.
His face returned to its usual cold expression as if nothing had happened.
Velldora ignored the frightened girl completely.
His gaze remained fixed on Jake.
"Do you still doubt me?"
Jake's eyes sharpened.
"Tell me what you want."
Then he added in a cold voice,
"What is it that you cannot do yourself but believe I can? I'm curious."
Velldora folded his arms.
"Bring me a certain boy."
"Do that, and I will grant whatever request you have. I will bring anyone you choose back to life."
Jake frowned.
"Why me? You have countless followers. You could send one of them. Better yet, why not go yourself?"
For the first time, Velldora's expression became serious.
"Because if I move personally... he will notice me."
Jake raised an eyebrow.
"Who exactly is capable of keeping a monster like you in check?"
A drop of cold sweat rolled down Velldora's forehead.
"I can't even speak his name. The moment I do... he will know."
Silence filled the air.
Jake was genuinely surprised.
The Velldora he knew feared nothing.
Not death.
Not destruction.
Not even the collapse of entire worlds.
Yet this being couldn't even say someone's name.
Who in the universe could possibly terrify Velldora?
Jake forced those thoughts aside.
I'll finish this mission first. The rest can wait.
He crossed his arms.
"Fine. Show me the target."
Velldora tossed a photograph toward him.
Jake caught it and looked down.
A young boy.
Nothing about him seemed special.
Jake narrowed his eyes.
"This kid? What's so important about him?"
Velldora didn't answer.
Jake shrugged.
"Doesn't matter. Bringing him here won't be difficult."
"Open the portal. I'll be back soon."
Velldora's gaze turned sharp.
"Remember one thing."
"The boy must remain completely unharmed."
"Bring him to me alive."
"Only then will our deal remain valid."
Jake nodded.
"Understood."
A portal suddenly opened before him.
Without hesitation, he stepped inside.
This should only take a day at most.
As Jake disappeared, Velldora spoke one final warning.
"The portal's destination is random. It could open anywhere on Earth."
"That's fine."
Jake vanished into the portal.
Velldora simply watched him leave.
Meanwhile, in Korea...
Dozens of Hunters stood in formation.
Fear and tension covered their faces.
Today, they were about to confront a monster whose reputation had spread across the entire Hunter world.
A Demon of Death.
Someone who had built a terrifying legend in an incredibly short amount of time.
Many of them wanted to run.
But none dared.
Because anyone who attempted to flee was immediately executed by their Guild Master.
The corpses of former guild members were scattered across the ground as proof.
At the center of the battlefield sat the leader of the Kill Guild.
Logan Lee.
A blood-soaked sword rested in his hand.
His eyes were cold.
Merciless.
Suddenly—
A crimson light appeared in the sky.
Everyone looked up.
The red object descended at incredible speed.
Faster.
And faster.
And faster.
Until—
BOOOOOOM!!
A massive explosion shook the battlefield.
Dust and shockwaves spread in every direction.
The Hunters stumbled backward in horror.
Logan Lee slowly stood up.
His eyes narrowed toward the center of the explosion.
The entire battlefield fell silent.
Only one question echoed through everyone's mind.
"What just landed?"
