Chapter 2 - First hunt

As Cynthia was reading the messages she started to feel a numbness in her neck. "Shit!" she thought "It's a spider so of course it has venom. Also the message said it was a human face spider. Aren't those known in cultivation novels as some of the most venomous spider beasts?". But she didn't have the luxury of time to collect her thoughts as the spider started to retreat further into the cave. Caught off guard and momentarily stunned she realized that if she didn't give chase she would be the little spider's dinner! Not the other way around like she'd like. Without further thought she gave chase. Suddenly without warning something else dropped onto her from above. "God damnit! What is it now?!" she thought as she felt yet another piercing pain in her neck. Now less caught off guard since this was the second time she instead shook herself violently like a dog shaking off water from its coat. This time it was the spider that was shocked but time was too little. The little tiger cub's body was getting more and more numb by the second. It was already getting hard for her to move her body effectively. Then a white window opened again. "You have withstood the paralytic poison of a juvenile human face spider. You have obtained poison resistance level 1.". As soon as that message popped up Cynthia felt as if she could move her body a little bit more normally. As she closed in on the juvenile spider it swung its leg sweeping toward the white tiger cub's leg as if it were the grim reaper's scythe itself. Cynthia, unable to move her body normally and still not used to her new body in the first place had no way of dodging. The spider's leg cut right into the tiger cub's leg, crippling it. With the paralytic poison and a now crippled leg Cynthia either killed the spider now or it was the end for her. The spider high on its success in crippling a mighty white tiger swung its leg again right at Cynthia's eye this time. "Right!" thought Cynthia "with intelligence comes the downfalls of arrogance and pride!" Cynthia, now finding a second wind, lunged forward. Although laboriously, she was still a white tiger known as the fearful king of the mountain and the lord of beasts. A mere spider no matter how mythical between the point blank range and being hopped on its own triumph didn't have a chance to dodge. The white tiger's teeth sank right into the spider. She then yanked, ripping its head from its body.
