The three of them arrived at Rundle Square located in the city center.
This was one of the busiest districts in White City.
Because it was a holiday, people were coming and going leisurely. Cars inched along, and finding parking was as if it might be a nightmare.
Charlie let the two sisters get out of the car first.
Then, he went to find parking by himself.
The genuine Maserati MC12 worth ten million dollars was a captivating enough sight on its own.
The two beautiful women stepped out of the car.
The two beauties alone weren't something special, but together, and how they were both identical and beautiful, was what made them stand out.
Such a sight was too rare.
Instantly, the two sisters were also able to become the focus of everyone.
"Look, look, there's a pair of beautiful twin girls."
"Nonsense! Are beauties like that real?"
"Goddesses!! Goddesses!!!"
"I wonder what it feels like to hug them both."
"What kind of man could marry great goddesses like that?"
...
Many people in the crowd were talking.
The sisters, since they were little, often became the center of attention.
They were quite used to it.
Madison held Kate's hand and looked at a stage not too far away.
"Sis, it seems like something's happening over there. Should we go and take a look?"
Madison was a curious little kitten.
She could never resist the temptation to go see what kind of commotion was happening.
"What if my husband can't find us when he comes back?"
"Do you not have a phone? We don't live in ancient times."
Unable to deny her sister's pleading, Kate decided to give in and agreed to go with her.
By the time Charlie came back, he couldn't find the pair.
But a message had been left on his phone by Kate. It read: "Maddie and I are watching a show on the side of the stage."
Charlie walked towards the stage to look for the pair.
But because there were too many people, Charlie needed a moment to find them.
At this time, the performance on stage had ended, and the host came out.
After listening to him speak for a bit, Charlie realized this was a public service activity.
Staff then brought cute plush animals onto the stage.
The host informed everyone that those plush animals would be auctioned, and all proceeds would be given for aid to children in need.
On the stage screen, a large QR code appeared.
"Everyone, scan this QR code. You can participate in the auction through your phone, and we'll start the bidding at five dollars."
Outside the stage, all the passersby relentlessly scanned the QR code to take part in the bidding war.
This was how Charlie thought he might find his wife.
He opened his phone and scanned the QR code.
Where the sisters were.
Kate had also just scanned the QR code.
She really liked little raccoons.
She had a crazy habit of collecting them.
If it was a raccoon, you could bet she would want it.
Seeing a raccoon displayed among the plush animals, Kate immediately decided to try for it.
On top of her own desire to win the raccoon, the result would go to a public welfare cause.
But now, the bidding war for the little raccoon plush started.
In an instant, Kate put in one hundred dollars for it.
On the stage screen, a list of auction bids appeared.
The ranking board displayed the current top ten in the running. If a bid was lower than the last top ten, they would no longer be displayed and would appear somewhere off-screen.
In an instant, Kate was at the top of the ranking board.
But it wasn't long before she was knocked off.
That was because, below the stage, many other men were vying for the cute little raccoon for their girlfriends.
The chart was being contested fiercely.
The host tilted his head as he saw the ranking board changing.
"It seems this cute little raccoon plush is very sought after. To all of you out there, let's go all out and be the one to take this little raccoon home for the girl you love."
It wasn't long before the price of the plush reached the thousand-dollar level, a level where Kate was still in the running.
It was becoming increasingly difficult to reclaim first place.
But then, suddenly, someone raised the price tenfold. Their bid topped out at ten thousand dollars.
Far below was Kate, who was in second place, and the others behind her.
In first place was someone with the name Rich Snobly. His avatar contained a selfie photo of a woman, clearly his girlfriend's picture.
It was quite obvious he was snatching the little raccoon for his girlfriend.
And coincidentally, Rich was standing right in front of the stage.
He immediately stepped onto the stage. He approached the host and snatched the microphone from his hand. He confidently used it, "I suggest no one else tries to bid for the little raccoon. My girlfriend really likes it, and so I guarantee she will be the one walking away with it today."
After this, Rich directly confessed to his girlfriend in a cringeworthy way that made the audience look like they swallowed condensed milk.
"Honey, I love you."
Below the stage, there was restlessness.
Some men were disgusted by his behavior, and they cursed and denounced Rich Snobly.
Some women began to feel envious, wondering why their boyfriends couldn't give the same to them.
However, despite all that, no one could compete with Rich's price point.
After all, the original price of the raccoon plush was only a few dozen dollars.
Now it was ten thousand dollars; the price had swollen at least a hundred times.
In terms of money, everyone was usually quite prudent.
Even Kate was ready to stop now.
It was ten thousand dollars now, after all.
It would be better for her to spend the money on her husband, rather than buying herself a little raccoon plush.
On stage.
Rich looked at the ranking board and saw a thousand dollars in second place.
The ranking didn't seem likely to change.
He felt victorious.
"Well, what a pity, all my competitors. Seems you can't handle it!"
"Honey, did you see that? Among all these men, it's quite clear your boyfriend is the strongest."
Rich's words provoked the anger of many people.
"Sir, please restrain yourself."
The host immediately stopped Rich's arrogant performance. It was fine for him to make a high bid, where the money would go to charity, but it was never right to mock others in such a way.
Suddenly, there was a newfound commotion at the scene.
It got everyone talking.
"Oh, God! I'm amazed. The number one ranking list now shows how much? Ten... wait, a hundred thousand?"
"A hundred thousand? A hundred thousand! Look closely, there are six zeroes there. That's not a hundred thousand, that's one million!"
"Maker's Breath! What monetary tyrant is lurking in this crowd?"
"This far surpasses simple arrogance. Who is actually paying a million dollars for a plush toy?"
"Ha, but that must be embarrassing for the guy on stage. Look at him, thinking he's so great with his ten-thousand-dollar bid. This is a real slap in the face for him!"
On the stage screen.
The person in first place changed. Their name changed from Rich Snobly to "The Little Raccoon is My Wife's."
When the host saw the number one bid on the ranking board, he dropped his microphone.
Rich Snobly also looked somewhat foolish now.
He thought his ten thousand dollars was high enough.
In the end, someone was even crazier than him. To buy a little raccoon plush, someone was willing to cough up a million dollars.
The original price of the raccoon plush might have been no more than a few dollars.
Men really are willing to sacrifice themselves to please women, aren't they?
This price, even for Rich Snobly, was too... rich. He couldn't beat that.
And as this realization dawned on his girlfriend below the stage, her face changed.
How could it not change?
She was initially the happiest woman at the place. She enjoyed all the envious gazes coming her way from all directions.
Now, it was as if she had just been slapped in the face.
Who could accept such a sudden change?
