Cristiano Ronaldo leaped into the air, twisted awkwardly, and somehow managed to reach the ball, nodding it back across goal.
Anderson reacted a split second later and headed the ball into the net in front of the goalkeeper.
Header relay!
"Goal! Unbelievable! It's Moreirense who take the lead!"
"Their aggressive attack has finally paid off!"
"Porto became more and more conservative toward the end of the first half, so this result isn't entirely surprising."
"Cristiano Ronaldo delivers his sixth assist of the tournament—congratulations! He has already secured the Portuguese Cup assist king title in advance!"
Near the edge of the penalty area, Deco let out a sigh.
Of course he felt the drop in his team's morale. He had planned to speak with the head coach at halftime to address it.
But now, it was too late.
In truth, a capable coach could adjust the team's mentality through in-game management.
A coach has a god's-eye view—he can identify which players are performing well and build attacks around them. One or two threatening moves, and the momentum can shift immediately.
Deco glanced toward the bench.
Honestly… this coach was painfully average.
Like many old-school Portuguese coaches—no real strengths.
But no glaring weaknesses either.
Just… mediocre.
Could Porto find a better coach with actual ability?
Otherwise, under Fernando Santos, Deco felt it would be extremely difficult to win tight, evenly matched games.
Yes, Porto had a strong squad—that was their biggest advantage.
But without Jardel this season, that advantage just wasn't enough.
The match entered halftime.
The situation in Porto's locker room unfolded exactly as Deco expected. He discussed the issues with the coach, but the coach's ability was limited. Tactical adjustments were made, but they failed to address the root problem.
Not every tactical tweak works.
Especially when your opponent has a smart midfield general.
At the start of the second half, Porto launched several waves of attack.
On the surface, it looked like they had regained control.
But in reality, it was just a temporary adrenaline boost from Santos's halftime talk.
In less than ten minutes, under Kai's leadership, Moreirense regained possession, territory, and attacking frequency.
The match slipped back into the rhythm of the first half.
Deco had no choice but to step up early, relying on his individual ability—dribbling, breaking through, forcing damage.
Moreirense midfielders Emerson and Macedo were both booked in quick succession.
Triguera played it safe and substituted Macedo for Cordeiro to maintain defensive intensity against Deco.
71st minute.
After a quick one-two between Deco and Ricardo Sousa, the ball reached Capucho.
Capucho returned it perfectly, and Deco stepped forward and unleashed a long-range shot.
This was Porto's second golden opportunity.
But Deco's inconsistency in shooting showed again.
The ball sailed just over the crossbar.
Deco turned and sprinted back, shouting toward the sky in frustration.
He knew he had wasted a crucial chance.
His shooting still needed serious improvement.
75th minute.
Sousa, having found success in tight passing combinations, linked up with Deco again in a neat one-two.
Deco passed and surged forward—if he got another chance, he swore he'd bury it this time.
boom!
Kirop denied him.
Taking a risk, Kirop stepped in early and made a clean interception—top-class defending.
He immediately played the ball forward to Kai.
Kai skipped past Sousa with a slick touch, then pushed forward to launch a counterattack.
Porto's defense reacted quickly, cutting off the passing lane toward Ronaldo.
Just as Alex tried to accelerate into space, he was taken down.
The referee again signaled advantage—no foul given.
This was Porto's defensive focus.
Shut down Ronaldo and Alex, and Moreirense's counterattack loses its edge… right?
boom!
Through the middle.
Facing Porto's defensive midfielder Peixe, Kai suddenly knocked the ball at least ten meters ahead.
The move stunned everyone.
What the hell… a straight, brute-force push?
Kai wants to outrun Peixe?
Who does he think he is—Ronaldo?
But the next moment shocked everyone even more.
Kai actually beat Peixe in the sprint.
Peixe grabbed him.
Kai slapped his hand away so hard it left the back of Peixe's hand red.
Cruyff's legacy still hits hard.
"He's eating him alive! Kai is literally outrunning Peixe! Incredible! As he's grown physically, Kai's speed has improved massively this season—he's now one of the most mobile midfielders around!"
boom!
Kai spotted Ronaldo finding space outside the edge of the box, passed to him, then continued his run.
Peixe chased back desperately, prioritizing marking Ronaldo.
But unexpectedly, after receiving the ball, Ronaldo tapped it twice, realized there was no angle, and passed it back.
Peixe and the ball crossed paths.
boom!
From just outside the penalty arc, Kai unleashed a thunderous shot.
Thanks to Deco's "rocket inspiration."
Kai had unlocked the dropped buff—"Ronaldo is nothing."
His shooting ability surged—so why the hell not shoot from distance?
Yes, it was a bit far.
But this time, there was almost zero interference.
And because Ronaldo had dragged defenders to the left, Kai's shooting lane was completely open.
Peixe: "Am I invisible or what???"
Even Ronaldo himself was stunned.
Because he had expected Kai to repeat the previous play—one-touch, lifting the ball back into the box.
After passing, Ronaldo had already started sprinting.
And honestly, if that plan had been followed, the attack would've failed.
Because the defenders were tracking Ronaldo.
Even goalkeeper Vítor Baía had stepped forward to block the gap between the center-back and himself.
But that misdirection worked in Kai's favor—Ronaldo's run screened him.
Kai's shot exploded off his foot.
The ball slammed into the turf, sending bits of grass flying everywhere.
Peixe stretched a leg to block it—but the ball slipped right through his legs.
Honestly, he might've preferred Kai to ignore him entirely.
At least then Kai might've gone for a higher shot—something Peixe could intercept.
But a low, driven shot from outside the box…?
That's a crazy-ass choice.
There's no way this goes in—
boom!
As the ball neared the goal, it hit an uneven patch of grass and bounced up.
Baía dropped low to save—but the ball popped right over his legs.
Whoosh!
The ball hit the net.
