While Sasuke was still intoxicated by the sudden clarity of the Sharingan—visualizing a sequence where he predicted every strike and secured an effortless victory—an enormous, utterly unexpected force slammed into his face.

Smack!

With a dull, heavy thud, Naruto's palm—carrying an irresistible, grounding momentum—drove Sasuke's head, and his entire body with it, straight into the dirt.

The instant Naruto's Leaf Whirlwind had been parried, he hadn't paused for even a heartbeat. Relying on perfected muscle memory and a cold, tactical instinct, he had pivoted on his lead foot and launched a second strike even faster than the first. His movements flowed with such seamless efficiency that Sasuke was given no window to breathe, let alone adjust to the sensory overload of his new eyes.

A haze of dust curled upward from the impact point.

Looking down at Sasuke—who lay pressed to the earth, dazed and struggling to process the ceiling of the sky—Naruto silently mused: Sorry, Sasuke. But the Sharingan was never a guarantee of victory. It's just a tool, and you haven't learned how to use it yet.

The victor was decided.

The moment Sasuke was slammed into the ground, the training field exploded into two opposing waves of sound. Several girls outside the ring couldn't reconcile the sight of their idol's defeat with reality; shrieks of distress and disbelief burst from the crowd.

"Sasuke-kun!" "No—how could this happen?!" "Sasuke-kun, are you alright?!"

In stark contrast, the boys' camp erupted in a cacophony of wild cheers. They had long been irked by Sasuke's icy aloofness and the effortless way he commanded the attention of every girl in the Academy. Seeing Naruto bring him down with such clinical finality set their jubilation loose.

"Whooooooo!" "Naruto, you monster! That was amazing!" "I never knew you were hiding that kind of strength!"

Whistles and applause blended into a singular roar. In that instant, Naruto was no longer the "Demon Fox" in their eyes; he was the hero who had finally humbled the Uchiha prodigy.

Hinata, tucked away at the back of the crowd, watched as Naruto helped Sasuke up with a shy, apologetic smile—the "Little Sun" mask firmly back in place. Her cheeks warmed, and her heartbeat quickened to a frantic rhythm. Her fingers twisted together as she quietly, yet firmly, marveled to herself: Naruto-kun… you were incredible. She had always known he trained hard, but to see him systematically dismantle the top-ranked student in the class was a revelation.

Ino, standing nearby, was equally stunned. Unlike Sakura, who was busy lamenting Sasuke's "unfair" loss, Ino's gaze stayed fixed on the blond boy. When Naruto kindly offered Sasuke a hand only to be brusquely shaken off, she felt a flare of indignation on Naruto's behalf. Looking at him now, she couldn't help but make a final, decisive comparison.

With those whiskers hidden, Naruto is more than just handsome—he's bright, sunny, and actually approachable. And today, he had proved he was the stronger of the two.

While the sidelines buzzed, Might Guy released the tension in his muscles, closing the First Gate of the Hachimon.

"ALRIGHT!"

His booming voice rang out like a temple bell, instantly silencing the chatter. "Though you are still Academy students," Guy said, his gaze sweeping over Naruto and the soot-stained Sasuke with deep approval, "in that fight, both of you displayed the skill and mindset of a true Genin—especially in terms of fighting spirit."

He turned his finger toward Naruto, his tone shifting to one of constructive critique. "However, Naruto! Your Ninjutsu still needs work! That clone was a shabby display of effort!"

Naruto suppressed a dry smile. It was rare for anyone to see him attempt Ninjutsu at all. Even though the clone had been a half-formed mess due to his chakra being tied up in the Wood Release research at home, managing any manifestation at all during high-intensity combat was, in truth, an impressive feat of multitasking.

"Enough!" Guy grabbed the still-seething Sasuke and the unruffled Naruto, pulling them both to the center of the field. "Win or lose, mutual respect is the soul of youth! Now—form the Seal of Reconciliation!"

Under Guy's watchful eye, the two boys raised their hands and intertwined their fingers, forming the seal that marked the end of the grudge. They then returned to the lines.

Guy stood before the class, hands on his hips. "I am a shinobi who specializes solely in Taijutsu. My knowledge of the arcane arts is limited. Therefore, I will teach you the purest form of combat: how to prevail with your body alone when your Ninjutsu fails or is countered. Never underestimate Taijutsu—it is the bedrock of your survival!"

While Guy's energetic lesson continued, a detailed report of the duel had already landed on the desk of Hiruzen Sarutobi. Puffing on his pipe, the Third Hokage studied the Anbu's scrolls.

"Awakened the Sharingan on his own at this age?" Hiruzen nodded, his eyes lingering on the description of Sasuke's scarlet eyes. "Worthy of the Uchiha bloodline."

Yet, as impressive as Sasuke's awakening was, the Sandaime took it in stride. He had once mentored a far more dazzling prodigy—Uchiha Itachi—who had pushed the limits of the eye long before Sasuke even entered the Academy.

What truly captured his interest was Naruto's conduct. The report was clear: Naruto had held back initially, unwilling to injure a comrade. Even after Sasuke escalated with the Great Fireball Technique, Naruto had repeatedly lessened his force to ensure the Uchiha didn't end up in the hospital.

Such restraint, such profound care for a teammate, was exactly what the Third valued most. It was the Will of Fire in its purest form.

By noon, a thorough evaluation of Guy's teaching reached the desk as well.

"Compared to veteran theorists, Guy's explanations may be unorthodox," the report read, "but his grasp of practical pacing and on-the-spot adjustments far exceed our Chunin instructors."

The Third gave a wry smile at the observer's final note: "The only drawback may be the sheer volume of Instructor Guy's constant shouts of 'Youth!' and 'Hot-blooded!'—it is proving a bit much for the more sensitive students to handle."
