The Southwest Peninsula of the Land of Wind was once just a desolate mark on the map, where only the howling sandstorms and stubborn thorns bore witness to the passage of time.
However, as the roar of the Ecological Puppets echoed along the coast, as tens of thousands of hectares of fertile fields donned a coat of green, and as the harbor cranes began to operate tirelessly day and night, a silent yet intense population migration and social transformation occurred naturally on this land that had been imbued with new life.
The initial pioneers—Earth Release Ninja, Puppet engineers, agricultural experts, construction workers, and the Ninja responsible for protection—built temporary camps that became the embryonic form of the new town.
Soon, they discovered that life here was far more "luxurious" than at the resource-strapped Sunagakure headquarters: fresh water was almost infinitely available, fresh fruits and vegetables were no longer luxury items, and they could even eat fresh seafood nearby.
News spread like wildfire, flying back to the Sunagakure headquarters and to other peripheral villages in the Land of Wind that were struggling to survive in the sea of sand.
The attraction was immense.
First, there was the convenience. Living near the oasis and industrial/agricultural centers meant being the first to obtain the freshest food, enjoying a stable water source provided by the purifiers, children could attend temporary schools set up for the pioneers' offspring nearby, and medical points equipped with basic medicine could be found if one fell ill.
Second, there were the opportunities. The massive development plan generated a vast number of job opportunities: farming required farmers, Puppet maintenance required technicians, port operations required sailors and porters, warehouses required managers, house construction required craftsmen, and the increasingly prosperous markets required merchants... This place was full of opportunities to earn generous rewards with one's own hands, far better than struggling to survive in their homelands.
Thus, people began to vote with their feet.
Some civilian families from the Sunagakure headquarters were the first to respond to the call, moving their entire families to the Southwest Peninsula, where they were orderly settled into newly planned residential areas.
More came from the residents of small oases scattered across the Land of Wind; having heard of the "miracle" on the southwest coast, they brought their families, crossed the sea of sand, and came to join this legendary "Land of Hope."
They brought with them various crafts and added to the growing population.
Almost at a speed visible to the naked eye, a new town sprang up around a core granary area and a port trading point.
The buildings here were no longer the oppressive caves and mud houses built to defend against sandstorms like in Sunagakure; instead, they adopted more open and brighter designs. Many houses were even painted with shell powder transported from the seaside, shimmering under the sunlight.
The streets were planned to be straight and orderly, and although still filled with grit, they were clean and tidy, with drought-resistant desert plants even being planted along the sides.
A bustling market formed naturally, selling not only abundant agricultural products, sea salt, and seafood, but also scattered goods brought by merchants from various places, as well as shops opened by craftsmen.
The air was filled with the aroma of baked flatbread, the smell of fish, and various spices, bustling with noise and excitement, full of the vibrant atmosphere of daily life.
Schools, clinics, taverns, inns, and even a small Ninja Craftsman office (responsible for simple Ninja tool repairs and civil Sealing Technique services) were established one after another.
Although the scale was far from comparable to the Sunagakure headquarters, it was fully functional and filled with vigorous vitality.
This emerging town had no name; people just habitually called it "New Peninsula Town" or "Granary Town."
It had no long history, no rigid hierarchy; everything about it was built on a practical foundation, upon shared labor and a longing for a better life.
Its residents were a complex mix—families of Sunagakure Ninja, local farmers, immigrant craftsmen, and wandering merchants—but they all shared a common identity: the pioneers of this new land.
The concentration of the population further fed back into the industrial and agricultural centers.
A more sufficient labor force allowed the scale of reclamation and production to continue expanding, and the formation of a consumer market stimulated the emergence of more commercial activities, setting a virtuous cycle in motion.
The high-ranking officials at the Sunagakure headquarters followed the rise of this new town through regular reports, feeling a mix of complex emotions and relief.
They realized that this was not just the rise of a town, but represented the successful validation of a brand-new development model.
The population and economic activities of the Land of Wind were transitioning from the scattered, fragile small-oasis model toward a central town model with greater economies of scale and higher resilience.
The new town on the Southwest Peninsula was like a brilliant pearl born from the sea of sand; it symbolized not only material abundance but also a new way of life and community form taking root on the land of the Land of Wind.
Sunagakure, this fortress that once stood lonely in the sandstorms, finally had its first vibrant, future-oriented satellite town. Its influence was spreading to wider regions, pulsing along with the heartbeat of this new city.
