When she had refused to tell him, she knew it was only a matter of time before he found out himself. There was nothing one could hide from Michael Sullivan anyways.
"Mr Sullivan.." Anna dropped the pen on his desk and placed her hands behind her back.
He raised a brow, and she tried to step back, now very aware of how close they were as she looked down at him. But he rolled his chair forward and grabbed her, lifting her off the floor in one smooth motion and settling her on the desk before him.
Her stomach dropped, a sweet funny feeling settling in the base of it before it travelled to her body. Towards the space between her legs, leaving her with an awakened urge she was very familiar with.
He placed his hands next to her hip to secure her in place if she tries to escape from him. His chest rising and falling with every breath he took. Her scent was intoxicating and it was all he could think of. The irregular pulsing of her veins didn't bother him, neither did the close proximity make him think of the impossible, all he wanted was for this moment to last long enough for him to breathe her in. "Because your ex-husband just transferred all his shares of the Harbinger company, the ones that you gave to him to a person named Gigi Lacoke."
Anna furrowed her brows but didn't look shocked. It wasn't like she didn't know this was Gigi's end goal. Take over the company. She wouldn't be shocked if she finds that Gigi had her brother killed.
Anthony had nothing but love for her. And maybe she should have suspected the lady was up to something when they got married too quickly. Her father who had been against the marriage and didn't like Gigi for unknown reasons ended up dying just three months to their wedding.
Gigi had insisted on no longer having the wedding but Anthony was against it. She had always wanted an elaborate wedding and he didn't want his wife giving up things she wanted just to coddle his feelings. Her mother started to act up after their wedding.
She wasn't the type of person to pick on people but nothing Gigi did seemed to sit well with her. So when she had done something horrible to Gigi, she and her brother decided they were better off without her in their lives and cut ties with the woman.
It didn't matter what she did or said back then to rid herself of the matter, no one believed. Because she didn't like Gigi from the start. Anna had to give it to her, Gigi planned it perfectly well. And her infiltration into her family was something that must have been pre-planned before she even met Anthony.
Afterall, she was nothing but a mere finance staff at Harbinger cooperation while Gigi's late brother had taken up the role of their late father who was the Chief Financial Officer.
Thinking about it now, there were too many deaths surrounding Gigi and Anna was starting to suspect nothing was the force of nature.
"You can trust me." Sullivan assured when he noticed the lady was deep in thought. Just what happened that kept her tight lipped about the issue?
Anna looked at him then, her hands gently laying on her laps. Laps he wanted smothered around his head. Hands he wanted grazing the base of his skull and pushing his face into a lovely pussy he wouldn't mind eating till he took his last breath.
Sullivan blinked away the thoughts, his intuition rising higher than usual. He was getting intoxicated on this woman and he couldn't control it. Sullivan who was known for being a man in control of his life and emotions was losing his touch.
"Really?" She asked and he nodded. She tried to speak again but a knock on the door interrupted them.
Brooke stepped in, seeing the position the two were in, she tried to step back. A little… 'sorry' on her lips.
"What is it?" He didn't sound annoyed and she stepped into the office.
Anna tried to jump down from the desk but Sullivan moved closer and she instinctively parted her legs, letting his body glide between as he moved his head closer now staring at Brooke with his head right by her waist.
Her whole body felt like it was on fire and she had to raise her hand for him to be able to place his head close to her waist as he spoke to Brooke.
The position was more intimate than she had ever been in with him and it made her very aware of the fact that his body was between her legs. Legs she had been pressing together a few seconds ago.
"It's the BJK line. Joan just finished the drafting and I have looked through it." She heard Brooke say, the lady sounding very professional. "Your signature is needed."
She watched Sullivan pick the fountain pen she had dropped on the desk without even looking. "Put it on the desk."
She heard the shuffling of paper and she turned stiff when his hands around her waist turned even tighter, indicating that he had probably taken the document and was looking through it. Her left hand was awkwardly hanging in the air because his head was invading her side so she gently rested it on his head, the fluffy strands of his hair filling her hand.
It was slicked back and at night, she saw him with his bangs down. She let her curiosity get the better of her as she felt the strands of his hair. The silky length of it easily rolling between her fingers.
Sullivan froze under her touch, his hand pausing on the line on the document. He couldn't move. Couldn't breathe. He was stuck in her moment. He wanted to savor it.
Brooke noticed his weird behavior and pressed her lips tight. Joan and Sarki were right, this lady is an anomaly in his life.
It took a whole minute for him to get his bearings and sign off his name on the document.
"Thank you." she said and left the room, glancing back once to stare at Anna's back as she sat on the desk and her boss whose eyes were now the usual shade she was used to.
She just knew it from the moment when he had rescued this woman from fire knowing it was one other thing that would be the total death of him. She shook her head as she walked away, just what has he gotten himself into with her?
Sullivan leaned back and Anna rested the elbow of her hand against her side, her fingers still entwined in his hair.
Their eyes met, both with slightly parted lips. Anna let her eyes fall to his lips and she grabbed a handful of his hair, unconscious of her actions as she tried to erase the picture of what it would feel like to kiss him again from her head.
She really wanted to lean in and taste his plum lips. She wanted them across her body, worshipping her. Kissing her. Giving her everything his eyes promised.
Sullivan couldn't break free from her spell but when Anna slipped her hand from his hair, he rolled his chair backwards, removing his upper body from between her legs while her hands glided across his face before she brought it to her lap.
She pressed her legs together again, the awkward silence filling the room.
"Do you remember our first meeting?" She randomly asked and he nodded.
"Clearly."
"If you can tell me why you killed those people, maybe I will open up and trust you."
Oh, this cunning little brat of his!
