Chapter 74 - Chapter 48 — Stormfire Awakening

I stood in the open field, my arms crossed over my chest.

Silent.

Still.

But inside my mind?

A storm was raging.

Knowledge flowed through my consciousness, vast and ancient, yet no longer chaotic. The library's legacy had settled into an organized structure, allowing me to examine fragments of its knowledge without being overwhelmed.

And at the center of that knowledge was a name.

Azu'Tor.

The First Beast of Azure Light.

The origin of stormfire.

The one whose roar split the heavens.

The moment I focused on the name, images flooded my mind.

A sky torn apart.

Mountains shattered beneath an overwhelming force.

Lightning descended from the heavens, yet instead of merely striking the earth, it burned like flame.

The mountains beneath it melted.

Stone became glass.

The heavens trembled.

And within that endless storm—

Something emerged.

A colossal beast whose existence seemed to defy the boundaries of everything I understood.

Beyond gods.

Beyond ordinary laws.

Its body radiated azure light, and every movement sent currents of lightning and flame across the heavens.

Its breath carried frost and lightning.

Its eyes shone like twin stars of blue fire.

Azu'Tor.

Even through those fragmented visions, I could feel the overwhelming presence of the First Beast.

It wasn't merely powerful.

Its existence seemed to embody the very storm that surrounded it.

Then the vision changed.

From Azu'Tor's power, twelve beings emerged.

Twelve descendants.

Twelve bearers of its inheritance.

Together, they became the foundation of a dominion.

The Azu'Tor Dominion.

Blue-Eyed White Tigers.

Bearers of stormfire.

Guardians of balance.

I watched fragments of their history unfold within my consciousness.

They did not rule through conquest alone.

They maintained equilibrium.

Their strength was not supposed to exist merely for domination. It was meant to preserve the balance between opposing forces, preventing either side from consuming everything.

Then three vows echoed through my mind.

Not as ordinary words.

As principles passed down through generations.

«[First Vow: Balance]

Strength must serve harmony.»

A pause.

«[Second Vow: Veil]

Power must remain hidden until needed.»

Another pause.

«[Third Vow: Fang]

Protect the weak, for they sustain the storm.»

I remained motionless.

For several seconds, I simply stared at the horizon.

"...So this is my origin."

The words left my mouth quietly.

I had known what I was.

A Blue-Eyed White Tiger.

A being with an unusual bloodline and a power that continued to reveal new depths.

But knowing my race was not the same as understanding my origin.

Now, I had seen fragments of something far older.

Azu'Tor.

The First Beast of Azure Light.

The source of the stormfire inheritance carried by my ancestors.

I still didn't know how much of the vision was literal history and how much represented the knowledge encoded within the legacy.

But one thing was certain.

This inheritance was connected to me.

And it had existed long before my birth.

The knowledge settled deeper into my mind.

Not completely understood.

Not fully comprehended.

But accepted.

Then—

Another notification appeared.

«[Technique Synchronization Complete.]»

My eyes sharpened.

"...Technique synchronization?"

A new name appeared before me.

«[Primordial Azure Beast]

[Azure Thunder White Tiger Scripture]»

I stared at the words.

"...A cultivation technique?"

The system responded.

«[Created by integrating all known paths of cultivation.]»

Silence.

I read the message again.

Then a third time.

"...All?"

Energy cultivation.

Body cultivation.

Soul cultivation.

Law comprehension.

The different paths I had learned about were already complicated enough on their own.

And this technique had supposedly integrated every known path into a single scripture?

That wasn't normal.

It wasn't simply a matter of talent.

Even an extraordinary cultivator would need to understand the principles behind each path before attempting to combine them.

And yet, the system was telling me that such a technique already existed.

I looked toward the sky.

"...What exactly have I inherited?"

No answer came.

I exhaled.

Whatever the explanation, I wasn't going to waste time questioning something I couldn't yet understand.

Not when I had a technique waiting to be explored.

I lowered myself into a cross-legged position.

My body rose slightly above the ground as I settled into meditation.

Then I began circulating my energy.

The response was immediate.

The energy within the hidden world stirred.

It flowed toward me from every direction, gathering around my body before entering through my skin and merging with my internal energy.

There was no resistance.

No violent clash.

The energy seemed almost eager to respond.

I examined its movement through my body, allowing the unfamiliar principles of the Azure Thunder White Tiger Scripture to guide my circulation.

The process felt different from ordinary cultivation.

Instead of forcing the energy through a predetermined route, the technique adjusted its flow according to my body's condition.

It considered my physical strength.

My energy reserves.

My bloodline.

Even the subtle movements of my consciousness.

Everything worked together.

For the first time, I understood why the technique had been described as an integration of cultivation paths.

It wasn't merely combining different methods.

It was making them function as a whole.

Then the system moved again.

Every herb and natural treasure scattered across the field disappeared.

One after another.

Rare plants.

Energy-rich flowers.

Ancient roots.

Everything vanished into storage.

I opened one eye.

"...You could have warned me."

The system offered no response.

I examined the surrounding field.

The energy density had dropped slightly, but the difference was barely noticeable. The world still contained more energy than I could reasonably absorb at once.

I shook my head.

"...Efficient."

At least the treasures wouldn't go to waste.

I closed my eyes again.

I was about to resume cultivation when another thought stopped me.

"...System."

Silence.

"...What happened back there?"

No response.

I opened my eyes.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about."

Still nothing.

I frowned.

"When I spoke to Solryn, something came through me. I didn't decide to say those words. I barely understood what was happening."

I recalled the moment in the Elder Hall.

The strange voice.

The declaration.

The overwhelming certainty behind the title.

The Burning Roar of the Heavens. Sovereign of the Azure Flame.

Those words hadn't felt like something I had invented.

They had felt like something that had always existed within me.

Something that had finally found the opportunity to emerge.

I narrowed my eyes.

"You told me I wouldn't lose control."

A brief pause.

"So why did it feel as though someone else was speaking through me?"

For several seconds, the system remained silent.

Then a notification appeared.

«[Awakening of Authority.]»

My expression didn't change.

"...Explain."

«[Authority is a law that governs all laws.]»

I stared at the message.

"...That doesn't answer my question."

Silence.

Longer this time.

Then another line appeared.

«[The Nameless One.]»

My expression stiffened.

"...Again?"

The name had already appeared in the library's knowledge.

The origin behind existence.

The being—or whatever it was—from which all things had emerged.

But how did that explain what had happened to me?

Before I could continue, another notification appeared.

«[Spirit Fusion Realm.]»

My thoughts stopped.

Then, slowly, the pieces began to align.

I looked down at my hands.

"...I see."

The Path of Transcendence.

The ten cultivation realms.

The process of awakening one's beast bloodline, strengthening it, and eventually merging with the Beast Spirit.

Spirit Fusion.

The stage where the distinction between human and beast began to disappear.

I had encountered the concept during Caelion's lesson.

But I had treated it as another realm on the path to greater power.

Now, I began to understand that it might mean something more to me.

"...What spoke through me..."

I paused.

"...Was me."

The system responded.

«[Correct.]»

I lowered my gaze.

"But not completely."

«[Correct.]»

A slow breath escaped my lungs.

"...Instinct."

«[Correct.]»

I stared at the ground.

The answer was beginning to take shape.

My human consciousness understood only a fraction of what was happening within my bloodline.

But the instincts inherited from my beast nature seemed to recognize something my conscious mind could not yet comprehend.

Authority.

The First Law.

The power behind the words I had spoken.

"...Beast and man."

I clenched my hand.

"...We're still separate."

«[Correct.]»

A faint smile formed on my face.

"So that voice wasn't someone else."

I looked toward the horizon.

"It was the part of me that already understands Authority."

«[Yes.]»

"And I don't."

«[Yes.]»

I remained silent.

There was no point pretending otherwise.

I had gained knowledge from an ancient legacy, discovered the existence of the First Law, and learned fragments of my ancestral history.

Yet when it came to understanding the power within my own bloodline, I was still incomplete.

I exhaled slowly.

"...Then the next step is obvious."

My eyes opened.

Their blue light intensified faintly.

"...Fusion."

A final notification appeared.

«[Spirit Fusion Realm]

Man and beast are no longer separate.»

I read the words carefully.

Man and beast.

Two aspects of my existence.

Two sides that had developed together but had not yet become whole.

I didn't know whether Spirit Fusion would resolve the instability I had experienced or allow me to access something deeper within my bloodline.

But I could see the problem now.

I had power I couldn't fully understand.

Instincts I couldn't completely interpret.

And an Authority that had surfaced before I was ready to comprehend it.

I couldn't keep relying on fragments of understanding.

I needed to become whole.

"...Two souls."

I paused.

"...One body."

The wind moved across the field.

The grass bent gently beneath the breeze.

Then, for a brief moment, something changed.

The grass around me leaned away from my body, despite the wind blowing in the opposite direction.

The air tightened.

Energy rippled through the space.

It lasted only an instant.

Then everything returned to normal.

I slowly raised my head.

The world had responded to my realization.

Or perhaps I had merely become sensitive enough to notice something that had always been there.

Either way, I wasn't going to ignore it.

I stood.

My feet settled against the grass.

I looked toward the distant horizon, where the ancient library had once stood.

Authority.

Stormfire.

The Nameless One.

The Azu'Tor Dominion.

The Spirit Fusion Realm.

Every discovery had brought me closer to understanding my existence.

But each answer had also revealed another question.

I still didn't know why the library had chosen me.

I didn't know why the Nameless One appeared in its records.

And I didn't know what the title Sovereign of the Azure Flame truly meant.

Those answers would have to wait.

For now, I had a clear objective.

Understand my inheritance.

Master the Azure Thunder White Tiger Scripture.

And unite the two aspects of my existence.

I raised my hand.

A faint thread of blue lightning flickered around my fingers.

Then another appeared.

Azure flames followed, weaving between the lightning without consuming it.

The two forces moved together.

Not clashing.

Not fighting for dominance.

Controlled.

Yet incomplete.

I watched them for a moment before closing my hand.

The light vanished.

"...Then let's begin."

Lightning flickered faintly around my body.

The stormfire was awake.

Now, I had to learn how to command it.
