The road was fairly old so I had no problem with it. I was unsure of where to go but my new body's memories are more useful than I thought. Though at first all I saw was abuse from my new father. Man, I asked for a bleak life and I got one. Whatever Shikamaru was thinking when he sent me here was clearly ripped out of my inner thoughts. I had a vague feeling that I enjoyed cloud watching in a nearby meadow. My legs simply took me there. Pretty hard to ignore this body's morphology and instincts. I walked into a relatively large meadow overlooking a forest. I found a patch of flattened grass and hummed a tune I somehow knew about. It was nice tune that matched the flow of the wind and the feeling of nature. I decide to lay on the grass and hummed on. I closed my eyes and actually felt liberated from the hell of a life I unintentionally asked for. Then I started to hear some rustling but I put it off. I continued until it felt like the air was invaded. I opened my eyes and found I was surrounded by a number of creatures. They were all just staring at me. Then I heard a voice from my out of nowhere say," ANIMAL LINGUISTICS has been activated."
Almost immediately,the animals' murmuring invaded my mind like a storm." Ahhh, please stop talking,"I yelled.
They all stopped talking and just gawked at me. Then a trio of slimes bounced forward and asked in a playful manner," hello mister. Can you continue singing that tune for us please?"
They were asking so nicely so I continued to hum for them the tune. All the animals swayed to the music. I stood up so they could all hear me when I saw a bright light coming from a far. I stopped and ordered all the animals to run back to the Forest. They hesitated but I screamed at them telling them that they are in danger and a stampede began. Once they crossed me, I stood imposingly at what was coming. I large fireball the size of an elephant flew towards them but I got in the way. It was powerful and I was sent a few metres back. I was in so much pain but I stood up and faced my foes. It was a group of five girls. They looked like adventurers. Through my memories I knew who they were, a party of adventurers called 'Fairy wing'. I never liked their attitude back then and I was not going to start now. I glared at them and asked," What do you think you are doing?"
" Rescuing your sorry ass. What else?" the one in the front said condensendingly.
" You nearly hurt those innocent creatures. Apologize to them."
" Apologize? Us, we just saved you and you want us to save you. Don't make me laugh," the leader said.
" You actually believe you are heroes you bunch of bitches. Worst adventurers in history," I said aloud.
" You cocky brat. Why don't you come her and make us apologize," another said.
I wanted to but I had no way of fighting a C- rank party. That was when a spear fell from the literal heavens and landed beside me. The spear had a main blade at the top and a side blade on the upper side. It was my calling. I picked it up and moved it effortlessly. It was just like my memories stated. My new body was skilled with a spear since it was honed with that in mind. I took a stance and glared at the girls. They were shocked by the appearance of the spear but that did not deter them for long. The swordswoman and thief went on the offensive. I prepped to charge them when a slime moved like a bolt passed me. It hit the two assailants in the gut with such velocity that they were knocked out foaming at the mouth. The slime then celebrated on them like a child. Two of the remaining ones charged up a magic spell that looked close to another fireball. It was aimed at the forest and so I could not block it. I ran in the direction of the fired spell but again there was no point. A slime jumped in the way and ate both fireballs. It even burped. Another slime followed suit as it jumped into the air and opened it's mouth to charge up blue flames. It fired two fireballs at the mages but the leader pulled out her shield and blocked it. I saw my chance. Before the dust even cleared, I dashed at them and caught them unawares. I punctured the shield and kicked the leader to the ground. I glared at them as my vision turned golden like." Do you want to apologize this time?" I asked but they were still in a daze," WELL!!?"
The leader and the two mages went down on all fours and begged," We' re sorry. Please forgive us. We didn't know you were a paladin."
"Paladin?" I thought.
" Get out of here before I change my mind." I said as I turned towards the forest.
The leader got up with a dagger poised ate ready to strike me but what came next paralyzed her. A loud roar came from the forest as a dragon came from the treetops and landed before us. The leader yelled for a clear retreat and took of in fear. They dragged the limb bodies of their comrades as they left. I, on the other side, stared at the majestic beast before me. The dragon had a light green mane over looking jade green scales that shimmered. She roared at me and asked," What did you try to do to my people filthy human?"
" Whoa, two rows of teeth but I smell the scent of mint. You are a vegan right," I said nonchalantly.
" What is wrong with you human. Aren't you afraid of me?" She asked.
" Oh, I am terrified of what you might do to me but I know for a fact that I have done nothing wrong so I fear nothing," I said with a smile," By the way, you have beautiful scales."
" You are truly interesting human. What is your name?" She asked me.
" Lucas Brine," I answered.
