Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Supreme Author’s Ink

Death was… quiet.

No light. No tunnel. No judgment. Just a pause—like the world itself had stopped to reread a sentence.

Then someone cleared their throat.

"Hmm. Unfortunate ending. But the potential? Extraordinary."

I opened my eyes—if I still had eyes—and found myself floating in an endless white space. Before me sat a being at a desk made of glowing letters. Words drifted around him like stars forming sentences.

"Who… are you?" I asked.

He smiled, dipping a quill into nothingness.

"I am the Supreme Author. The one who writes worlds. And you, my dear reader-turned-character, died a bit too early."

I swallowed. "So… this is the afterlife?"

"Hardly. Think of this as a rewrite."

With a flick of his quill, images flooded my mind—monsters, magic, skills, kings, and a familiar blue slime devouring the world with a smile.

"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime…?" I whispered.

The Author nodded. "Correct. And this time, the story needs a balance. A counterweight. A brother."

My heart pounded. "Rimuru?"

"Yes. Though in this timeline—Rimuru Tempest is female."

Before I could even process that, the Author continued.

"I will reincarnate you at the very beginning of the story. Same cave. Same moment. Same birth."

"And the catch?" I asked warily.

His smile widened.

"You will be bound."

The air trembled as three names carved themselves into reality.

Rimuru Tempest**

Veldora Tempest**

Milim Nava**

"Bound?" I echoed.

"Not possession. Not fusion," the Author explained. "A perfect bind. You will possess all their abilities, skills, resistances, and growth potential—not borrowed, not shared. Yours."

My breath hitched. "That's… insane."

"Yes," he agreed happily. "That's the point."

I hesitated. "Why me?"

The quill paused.

"Because unlike Rimuru, unlike Milim, unlike Veldora—you know how the story ends."

The white space cracked.

"Now then," the Supreme Author said, writing my fate with a final stroke,

"Let us begin the first chapter."

Pain.

Cold.

Then—

Hunger.

I became aware of myself slowly. No lungs, yet I breathed. No limbs, yet I moved. My body was soft, formless, light.

…I'm a slime.

A translucent blue mass reflected faint light from glowing crystals embedded in stone walls.

The cave.

Veldora's Cave.

Then I felt it.

Another presence.

Small. Newborn. Familiar.

Rimuru.

But different.

Her aura shimmered—gentler, warmer. When she spoke, her voice was soft and curious.

"Uh… hello?"

I turned—rippled—toward her.

"Hey," I replied, surprised my voice existed. "Looks like we both just got isekai'd."

She wobbled closer. "You too? I thought I was alone."

A system voice echoed in my mind.

Unique Skill 'Predator' has been acquired.

Unique Skill 'Great Sage' has been acquired.

Ultimate-level Dragon Factors detected.

Demon Lord Seed resonance confirmed.

I froze.

All of it… already active.

I wasn't just strong.

I was broken.

Rimuru laughed nervously. "This is weird, but… I feel like we're family somehow."

I smiled—if a slime could smile.

"Yeah," I said. "Looks like I'm your big brother."

Deep within the cave, an ancient dragon stirred.

"OOOIII—TWO SLIMES?!"

Veldora Tempest's roar echoed through the cavern.

I felt his power resonate within me.

And somewhere far away, a pink-haired Demon Lord sneezed.

The story had changed.

And this time—

I was part of the ink.
