Chapter 61 - Chapter 61

Desperation and Possession

Two people changed that night.

One broke.

One tightened his grip.

Leon — Recklessness Has a Shape

Leon didn't go home.

He wandered.

Through streets that didn't care who he used to be.

His phone buzzed constantly—

messages he didn't read,

numbers he didn't recognize.

All he could see—

Was Lunaria standing behind Kael.

Silent.

Not denying it.

"…I lost everything," Leon muttered.

His license.

His Pokémon.

His future.

And now—

Her.

Anger twisted into something ugly.

Leon stopped walking.

He pulled out his phone and opened an old contact.

A man who lived in the gray.

A fixer.

Someone who still answered.

Leon:I need information.

About Kael Ravencroft.

The reply came after a long pause.

Fixer:That name is dangerous.

Price is high.

Leon stared at the screen.

"…I don't care."

He sent what little money he had left.

Not enough.

But enough to open a door.

The first reckless step.

Kael — Tightening the Cage

Lunaria sat quietly in Kael's penthouse the next morning.

She hadn't slept well.

The confrontation replayed again and again.

Leon's face.

His words.

The way Kael had stepped in front of her.

Protective.

Possessive.

Kael noticed her silence.

He always did.

"You don't need to think about him," Kael said calmly, pouring her tea.

"People like Leon don't know when to let go."

Lunaria looked up.

"…He's just angry."

Kael smiled faintly.

"Anger makes people dangerous."

He placed a phone on the table.

"I've arranged new security," he continued casually.

"For you."

Her brow furrowed.

"Security?"

"Just precautions," Kael said smoothly.

"After what happened at the party."

She hesitated.

"…Isn't that a bit much?"

Kael leaned closer, voice gentle.

"I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you."

The hesitation faded.

"…Okay," she said softly.

That was all it took.

Subtle Control

From that day—

Things changed.

Not abruptly.

Gradually.

Her schedule went through Kael's assistant Events were "too dangerous" without him Old friends were "bad influences" Privacy became "protection"

Kael never ordered.

He suggested.

And Lunaria—

Agreed.

Every time.

Leon Crosses a Line

That evening, Leon received a message.

Fixer:I found something.

Ravencroft's money isn't clean.

Leon's heart pounded.

"Send it."

The reply hesitated.

If you push this, people will come after you.

Leon laughed bitterly.

"They already did."

Another reckless step.

Elsewhere — The Web Notices

Red Queen's interface flickered.

Red Queen:

Master, Leon Ashford has begun unauthorized inquiries into Kael Ravencroft.

Alex read the alert calmly.

"…As expected."

Kirlia floated beside him, worried.

Alex patted her head.

"It's fine," he said softly.

"Desperate people move fast."

He closed the panel.

Leon was burning himself alive.

Kael was tightening chains he didn't realize existed.

And Alex—

Alex didn't need to push.

He only needed to wait.
