The second world of the Trial of Worlds shimmered beneath Ethan's feet.
This world was unlike any he had seen before. The sky was a deep violet, filled with swirling clouds that reflected countless faces—faces that looked like him, but not quite. Each one whispered his name.
Ethan… choose…
He stepped forward, heart pounding. The platform beneath him flickered like glass, fragile and uncertain.
A mirror appeared in the center, glowing faintly. Ethan approached it cautiously. As he looked into it, the reflection shifted.
Instead of seeing himself, he saw everything he could become:
A hero feared and worshiped by many
A leader who sacrifices everything for the world
A tyrant, using the Fate Mark to control lives
A broken man, lost to regret
Lyria's voice rang in his mind. "Remember, Ethan… heart over power. Choice over destiny."
He clenched his fists. "I will not let myself be lost to fear… or ambition."
One by one, he faced each reflection, answering their unspoken questions:
Could he protect those he loves without hurting others?
Could he lead without becoming a tyrant?
Could he choose freely, even if it meant danger?
With each answer, the mirror cracked, sending shards of silver light across the world.
Finally, Ethan stood tall. The mirror shattered completely, leaving a calm, empty sky.
A soft voice echoed from the void.
"You have passed the Mirror of Destiny," Serenya said. "But remember: the choices you make now will shape not only your world, but all worlds connected to it."
Ethan looked at Lyria, who smiled encouragingly.
"We're ready for whatever comes next," she said.
Ethan nodded, determination burning in his chest.
Choice is my path. Heart is my guide. Nothing can break that.
