Silas's POV
Dawn was breaking over the city when I arrived at headquarters, my body heavy with exhaustion that sleep couldn't cure. The previous weeks had been a relentless cycle of board meetings, media interviews, and legal maneuvers. I thought finalizing the divorce would bring peace, but it only amplified the chaos. Suddenly everyone wanted to prove their loyalty again.
Felix stood waiting near the elevator doors, clutching his ever-present folder. "Good morning, Mr. VALERIUS'Empire," he said, his tone measured but tense. "The board members have been here since early morning. They're ready when you are."
"Perfect," I muttered, striding past him. "Time to end this circus."
Miss Porter hurried to keep pace, her tablet balanced in one arm. "PR finished the press release draft, sir. I've done multiple revisions. Legal also needs your approval on the disclosure documents before noon."
I gave a curt nod, my eyes scanning the familiar corridor as we moved forward.
