When Nina arrived at the City Lord's estate, the elders had already assembled. Knowing she was Mino's female, they were not surprised by her presence.
They bowed in greeting. "Lady Nina."
Nina nodded politely in response.
The elders turned to Ming. "City Lord, what is the purpose of today's meeting?"
"I called you all here today to discuss a matter regarding our sacred artifact," Ming stated directly.
"The sacred artifact?" The elders looked at one another in confusion. "Is there something wrong with it?"
Ming glanced toward Nina. "It's Nina. She needs to retrieve the sacred artifact, and she requires your assistance to temporarily deactivate the first boundary array."
"Retrieve it? What does that mean? Isn't the sacred artifact property of Spirit Cat City? It has nothing to do with the Barbarian City, does it?" the elders asked, bewildered.
