I opened my heavy eyes.
But there was nothing to see. The world around me was a vast and endless blackness, a silent emptiness that stretched in every direction without any sign of a sky, a ground, or a horizon.
It was like standing inside a void that had no edges, no beginning, and no end.
I blinked slowly, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. My body felt strange, disconnected from itself.
I was light, hollow, as if I had been hollowed out and filled with air instead of flesh and bone.
If I concentrated hard enough, I could almost feel myself dissolving, becoming part of the endless blackness around me.
'Where am I?'
I tried to move my hand. It obeyed, lifting into my field of vision. But I couldn't feel it or sense it. Just the image of my hand floating in the emptiness.
I tried to stand, and I was standing. But I couldn't feel the ground beneath my feet. There was no cold, no warmth, no pressure. Nothing to tell me I was actually there.
'Am I dead?'
