Chapter 68 - 068 Leon, Dulio, Jaune

Eldorado

"In the end, why did you become a Demon Lord anyway? You were once a hero who saved humanity, yet here you are, reigning as a Demon Lord." Dulio's tone was incredibly breezy, but it grated on Leon's nerves.

"I told you, no comment. Your hearing is perfectly fine, isn't it?"

"Hahaha, since when have you ever met a deaf angel? I heard you, but I'm still curious about what really happened." Dulio offered a warm, bright smile, looking every bit the true angel.

Leon's irritation grew until his handsome features began to slightly distort.

"Hahaha, it looks like I've struck a nerve."

"Enough. What is it you actually want from me?" Leon's voice was cold and sharp.

Dulio shrugged with a relaxed expression. "I don't want anything—except an answer to my question."

"...Weren't you sent to this world to investigate? Then do your job properly!"

"Hahaha, even if I do nothing, I'm sure Tobio-kun is on the case."

"Tobio? You mean the black-haired man over at Guy's place?"

Dulio gave a gentle nod.

"You people are truly reckless, letting him stay at Guy's. Your friend is probably being tortured as we speak." Leon smirked, his expression turning dangerous.

"Demon Lord Guy Crimson is certainly formidable, but you underestimate Tobio-kun. If things take a turn for the worse, he can always find a way to escape."

"...Where does this confidence of yours come from?"

Dulio narrowed his eyes, gazing out the window toward the Ice Continent.

"Maybe because we come from the same world, and we both wield Longinus weapons?"

"...And what about that other man? If I recall, his name was Hyoudou Issei?"

Dulio nodded again. "Why worry about him? He's the strongest among us. And his partner shouldn't be overlooked either—she possesses the Power of Destruction."

Leon didn't reply, but he secretly agreed with Dulio's assessment. Having caught a glimpse of Issei and Rias, Leon had sensed the majestic yet terrifying power dwelling within them.

"What do you make of that magicule explosion from yesterday?"

"Ah, Issei-kun must be fighting someone incredibly powerful. Was it a dragon?"

"Yes. Judging by the aura, it was undoubtedly Veldora—the True Dragon, the embodiment of storms."

"Amazing. If you have more like him here, you could probably invade the DxD world," Dulio laughed jokingly.

Leon remained silent, unable to wrap his head around Dulio's overly carefree attitude.

"From what I know, this world was created by the strongest True Dragon, Veldanava."

"A dragon created the world? Where is this dragon now? Surely he acts as a god, right?"

"Who knows? He died a long time ago, and so far, there hasn't been a single sign of his resurrection."

Dulio's expression shifted. His face paled, and his body began to tremble.

"Dead? So, the fate of this world is the same as the DxD world..."

"...What do you mean by that?"

Dulio caught his breath for a moment, then explained the death of God in the DxD world.

"Can the god of your world be resurrected?"

Dulio shook his head with a melancholy smile.

"As far as I know, no. What about the deity of this world?"

"True Dragons are the manifestation of immense magicules. If a True Dragon dies, they will eventually manifest again somewhere else, though often with incomplete memories."

"Then why hasn't the True Dragon who created this world returned yet?"

"I haven't a clue. How am I supposed to know the mind of a dragon? I focus only on my own goals; I don't have time to worry about anything else."

"...And what is this goal of yours? The one that drove you to become a Demon Lord?" Dulio asked.

Leon kept his lips tightly sealed, openly refusing to answer.

Dulio let out a soft sigh and muttered, "Worldly desires truly are a terrible thing."

"..."

Outside Leon's magnificent castle, a woman with bright yellow hair smirked, a sphere of nuclear magic swirling in her hand.

"Guests from another world? Let's see just how strong this person is."

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted, swallowing a quarter of Leon's castle.

Before the damage could escalate, Leon suppressed the shockwave and glared toward the Yellow Primordial.

"I am busy here. Do not disturb me unless you have a death wish!"

"Hahaha! Big words! Do you honestly think you can kill me?"

Leon's brow twitched. Dealing with Jaune's provocations was always a headache.

"Leon, are you really that hated by demons?" Dulio smiled unexpectedly, looking at Jaune with genuine interest.

"The demons here just enjoy causing trouble. It doesn't mean I'm hated."

"I see. She certainly is a spirited one." Dulio smiled warmly while looking in Jaune's direction.

"It's useless talking to her. She won't leave until she's been thrashed!" Leon summoned a Flame Pillar, preparing to engage Jaune.

"Hahaha! Finally, you're getting serious, Leon Cromwell!"

True to her reputation, Jaune was mad enough to show no fear, even when facing the Platinum Saber.

"I don't have time for your games. I'll end this in a single strike."

Just as Leon was about to move, his attention was diverted by thousands of bubbles drifting everywhere.

"What is this?"

Leon wasn't the only one confused; Jaune looked on in wonder and reached out to touch one of the bubbles.

Moments later, her desire for battle simply vanished.

"Eh? What's happening? Suddenly, I just... don't feel like fighting anymore."

Leon narrowed his eyes, searching for an opening to attack, but he accidentally touched a bubble himself. He fell silent, his fighting spirit draining away completely.

"This is quite effective." Dulio smiled with satisfaction, waving his hand to clear the remaining bubbles.

This was one of Dulio's abilities, channeled through the medium of Zenith Tempest: Rainbow Colored Hope.
