Chapter 4 - Farewell, Hina

Everywhere was dark. No light, no sound just silence. It felt endless, like the world itself had disappeared.

Then, a small glow appeared a tiny, floating ball of light, hovering gently in the emptiness. Hina's eyes widened. She looked around frantically. Where am I? What is this place?

Mom…? Are you here?" her voice echoed inside her mind, raw and trembling. "I'm so afraid… please… help me… I don't know where I am… I… I don't understand…

The light hovered closer, but the darkness pressed in from all sides, and Hina shivered, alone and small, in a world that felt endless and cold.

Then

a voice echoed from behind her.

Hi there.

Hina's awareness jolted. She turned instinctively, but there was nothing. No shape. No shadow.

"W–Who's there?" her voice trembled. "Where are you?"

The voice came again, calm and gentle.

"It's me."

I can't see you," Hina said, panic rising. "Where are you? What's your name?"

A pause.

My name… and who I am," the voice replied slowly, "has been called many things. If you wish, you may call me God.

Hina froze.

God…?" Her voice shook, then hardened. "Then why can't I see you?"

"Because I have no form you can perceive," the voice answered. "And because mortals cannot see me."

Her fear twisted into confusion. "Then… why am I here?"

The voice softened.

"My sweet child… you have died. What remains of you here is only your soul."

"I don't understand," Hina whispered. "No… that's not possible."

"You don't realize it yet," the voice said gently. "But you no longer have a body. This place holds only what you truly are."

Silence followed.

Then Hina's voice cracked.

If you're really God," she said, anger flooding her words, "then why didn't you help us?"

The darkness seemed to tighten.

"My mother prayed every day," Hina cried. "She begged you. She believed in you. But you never came. You never saved her. You never saved me."

Her voice rose, trembling with rage and pain.

"You can't be God," she shouted. "God isn't real! If you were real, you would've helped us! You're lying!"

The light flickered violently.

For a long moment, the voice did not answer.

And in that silence, Hina felt it

the weight of everything she had lost.

If you believe in God or not, that is your choice. I can't force you, and we don't interfere in human matters, because to us, every life is equal."

"But humans…" the voice continued, "they are creatures that are never satisfied. And why are you here? Because of you and your mother. Your mother prayed with a pure heart, and yours is also good. That is why you are here—to receive a second chance. Many never get this opportunity."

Hina blinked. "A… second chance? Then… can you send me back?"

"That is possible," the voice said, "but I cannot send you to your old life. Instead, I can send you to a new world—a world like a fantasy, full of power and adventure… an isekai."

Hina tilted her head, confused. "I… Isekai? What is fantasy?"

"You've never watched anime or cartoons on TV?" the voice asked.

"No," Hina admitted.

The voice hummed. "Then imagine this: stories where elves, beast-men, and other creatures live. Monsters roam freely, magic flows, and power is everywhere. You will understand once you are there. Trust me… eventually, you'll get it."

Hina still frowned. "I… still don't understand."

"You will," the voice said. "After you are reborn there, everything will make sense."

A pause. Then the voice asked, "Before you go… what do you want to be? Human, or one of the other creatures?"

Hina thought carefully. "I want to be… human."

"Why not an elf or a beast-man?" the voice asked. "They live longer and stronger lives."

"I want to be human," Hina said firmly. "I want a normal life… in a family that loves me. Not a big, fancy one—just a real one."

"Alright," the voice said. "And what about power? Do you want magic, heroic skills, or anything overpowered?"

Hina shook her head. "No. I just want to be human. I don't need powers. I want to live in a normal family… one that actually feeds me properly. And maybe… one that doesn't yell at me for sneezing."

The voice chuckled softly. "Very well. I think you don't trust me yet. That's fine. You will go without powers. Your life will be entirely yours."

Hina's mind brightened a little. "I… I want to create new things. Make my own happiness."

"Good," the voice said, warmly. "Imagination is power too. Now… farewell, Hina."

And then, in a swirl of light and warmth, she disappeared.

A small village lay quietly between dense forests and towering mountains. Modest wooden houses lined narrow paths, and the air was calm, untouched by the noise of the outside world.

Then

a baby's cry broke the silence.

Inside one of the small houses, a woman lay on a simple bed, exhausted but smiling. An old woman carefully held a newborn in her arms, while two other women stood nearby, supporting the mother.

The old woman looked down at the baby and smiled warmly.

"Congratulations," she said. "It's a healthy baby girl."

The mother's tired face brightened, and the women in the room smiled with relief.

The door suddenly opened, and a man hurried inside. His eyes went straight to the bed—then to the tiny baby.

The old woman turned to him, smiling.

"You are a father now."

She gently placed the baby into his arms. The man froze for a moment, then carefully held her close. A soft smile spread across his face.

"She's healthy," the old woman added.

The mother looked at him and spoke softly, "You should give her a name."

The man looked down at the baby in his arms. Her small fingers curled slightly, her crying fading into a quiet breath.

"…Aisha," he said.

The mother smiled.

"Your name is Aisha."

Outside, the forest whispered in the wind, and in that quiet village, a new life in another world had just begun.
