I woke up the next morning with a bad headache. I was obviously going to get one because I wasn't able to sleep. This was not only as a result of the fact that my family was fleeing, it was also because my neighbors were natural loudspeakers. It was so freaking annoying.
I literally instructed my bodyguards to warn them countless times but they still didn't listen, they claimed to be having a reunion.
This was just not my day. I got dressed and left for my first class. As I was leaving my room, my neighbors also came out of their room.
Three boys dressed impeccably in the school uniforms walked out. They waved at me but out of anger,I ignored them and walked ahead to my class.
Luckily for me, they were in my class and by some amazing reason I was assigned to sit beside one of them. I later knew him to be Thomas, he was a redhead with tanned skin and freckles, he was around the same height as me and he looked pretty chill in general.
He passed a not to me during mathematics class…
' we're really sorry for the noise we made last night, but Diego and Temi are very extreme when it comes to parties 😉'
I smiled and decided to let it go, it wasn't their fault that I have a big fear of abandonment. Even though I have every reason to feel that way.
After all my classes were over, I went to the cafeteria to get my lunch. I sat down on an empty table and began to eat. I had already seen all my sisters eating at the same table but out of anger I decided to sit alone. After a while, I noticed that no one had approached even the table across from mine. Obviously because of the two towering men behind me.
After I had already given up on making as much as an acquaintance,my three neighbors approached my table and sat with me.
I was honestly perplexed because even I wouldn't approach me with my bodyguards standing like statues.
I had already met Thomas but haven't officially met Diego and Temi. There was an awkward silence for a while before Thomas decided to break it by asking why I had two grown men following me around.
I told them that it wasn't up to me but was as a result of my father hovering. They all nodded in understanding.
Temi even made mention of the same thing happening to him until his father deemed him old enough to stay on his own. Unknowingly we all bonded based on this little conversation.
After lunch, the boys told me that it was mandatory for everyone to belong to a sport team and a co-curricular club. I decided to try out for the soccer team and the music club.
After my father found out about this, he wasn't really satisfied with my choices. He called them sissy and asked me to change them immediately.
I made resolve in my heart to finally stand up to him and I calmly told him over the phone that it was impossible for I to change my choices and that he should deal with it.
He angrily cut off the phone call and I sighed in frustration. I wished that there will be just one day that I can actually go about my day in peace and serenity.
I was still lost in this train of thought, when I heard a light knock on my door. I don't remember inviting anyone to my room, I guessed that it will probably be one of the bodyguards.
I opened the door to find Thomas, Temi and Diego staring right back at me. They decided to invite themselves into my room and settle spectacularly onto my bed and sofa respectively.
Temi decided to make himself comfortable and opened my fridge and took out some snacks and tossed some to the other guys. I stood by the door in shock, I've never been good with human interaction in general so this came as a shock.
Thomas waved me over and they started chatting alongside with me. Although i was a little bit freaked out by this because technically I'm a girl but they don't know that. I realized that they were trying to make me feel comfortable around them.
After a while, I decided to voice out my doubts about their sudden closeness with me. When I asked, they turned to stare at each other and Diego decided to speak up.
We were just ten years old when we were shipped to this school, our parents had very high expectations for us and just like you, we were under strict supervision by our families. Well, a lot of people wanted to be friends with us and yes, we did make a lot of friends but overtime, we realized that they were only friends with us because of what the seemed to gain from us.
We decided to discard most of our so called friends and instead focus more on air self and building up a great and trustworthy relationship with each other. I guess we saw ourselves in you and that's why we decided to befriend you.
We definitely understand how it feels and what the outcome might lead to. I mean Thomas literally heard some girls planning to befriend because you're the Thorne's heir and all that.
I was momentarily stunned, I don't remember telling anyone about my identity or anything related to me in this school. How the hell did they know that I was the heir to the Thorne conglomerate. Before I could even ask them about it, Diego said that everyone could deduce who I was because I was seen talking to my sisters and also because my bodyguards wore our family's emblem.
I rolled my eyes, of course my dad made them wear the family's emblem around my school. I don't even understand the idea behind having a family emblem when we were definitely not in the medieval era.
I sighed again in frustration which made them to burst out in laughter. They then told me that there was a way to get rid of my bodyguard. I asked him what and Thomas said that there was a clause in the Constitution of school that mandated that all students should be left without adults supervision.
The advised me to take it up with the school board, they told me that if I did so the school will mandate that the only remain in the dormitory, if I can prove that they were obstructing my learning and social skill.
Before could think of a plan, Diego suggested that they used the same situation he used to get rid of the bodyguards.
