Chapter 1 - Blood and betrayal

The underworld—

a world of shadows, blood, and forbidden power.

A place where laws do not exist, and mercy is a weakness.

On the edge of a massive ship, a young woman stood.

Her body was covered in deep wounds.

Blood stained her clothes.

She looked as if she had been drugged, barely able to stand.

Yet, she was breathtakingly beautiful.

Her hazel eyes, once soft, now burned like fire.

With trembling strength, she leaned against the railing and stared at the two people standing before her—as if she wished to kill them with her gaze alone.

They were smiling.

A man and a woman.

Smiling like demons.

The girl finally spoke, her voice weak but filled with hatred.

"Why…? Why are you doing this to me?"

The man chuckled.

"Because I wanted to be the King of this world. And that is only possible… if you die."

There was no shock on her face.

Somewhere deep inside, she had already known this answer.

The woman beside him traced her fingers across his chest and said impatiently,

"Oh darling, finish this quickly. I can't wait anymore."

The man tightened his grip around her waist.

"Just a little more time. Soon, we'll be the richest in all of Russia."

Greed sparkled in the woman's eyes.

The man then turned back to the girl.

"You should have died with your parents four years ago. Such a pitiful death they had."

He laughed cruelly.

This time, the girl's heart shattered.

The traitor she had been searching for…

The murderer of her parents…

Was her own uncle.

Her eyes filled with uncontrollable hatred.

"You ungrateful dog! My grandfather took you in out of mercy. You ate from our table… and then you destroyed it.

What did my parents ever do to you? You had everything. Then why did you kill them?"

The man laughed like a madman.

"Because he always had more than me. Power. Respect. The throne of the underworld.

That crown was supposed to be mine.

So I removed him from my path.

I wanted to send you and your mother with him. Your mother died… but you survived.

But today, your end will be the same as your father's."

His laughter echoed.

The girl could no longer endure it.

Gathering the last of her strength, she snatched a gun from a guard beside her and fired.

The shot missed.

The bullet only grazed the man's arm.

His face darkened with rage.

"Enough. It's time to say goodbye. Go meet your father."

He pulled the trigger.

The bullet struck near her heart.

The force threw her backward—

And she fell into the endless sea.

As she sank, her entire life flashed before her eyes.

A child's laughter.

A little girl crying for her parents.

A young girl training in blood and fire.

An eighteen-year-old watching her home burn.

A queen rising from ashes.

Tears mixed with seawater.

In her heart, she whispered—

"If I am given another chance… I will take revenge."

But there was one pain that never left her.

She had everything.

Except love.

Her eyes slowly closed.

Kiya Roman was dead.

But her story…

Was only beginning.
