Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Building a Multiverse Cafeteria

Meanwhile, Peter B's team.

Based on the intelligence provided by Miles, the three Spider-Men stealthily made their way to Kingpin's Fisk Tower.

At this very moment, a memorial dinner for Spider-Man was being held on the top floor.

Kingpin's public identity was that of a philanthropic businessman; he claimed to be Spider-Man's best friend, sharing a life-and-death bond with him, and invited various socialites and media to attend, using the opportunity to gather fame and wealth.

Seeing this scene, the Spider-Men in the shadows were speechless.

This Kingpin was truly a genius; he could even profit from the deceased Spider-Man.

And wasn't your life-and-death bond because you killed Spider-Man?

In fact, this seemingly hypocritical memorial dinner was merely a facade; the super-particle collider device secretly built by Kingpin was hidden deep within the laboratory of this tower.

Because it was a Spider-Man memorial dinner, all the waiters and security personnel were wearing Spider-Man masks and uniforms, which provided an excellent disguise opportunity for the three Spider-Men to openly infiltrate Fisk Tower.

Peter B and Gwen disguised themselves as waiters, and Pork disguised himself as a suckling pig on a platter.

During this time, Peter B bumped into this Universe's Mary Jane; seeing a face almost identical to his wife's, Peter, who had been separated from Mary Jane for many years, couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion.

Fortunately, with the persuasion of the other two Spider-Men, his big head regained control over his intellect.

To avoid further complications, the three Spider-Men immediately decided to find Kingpin first, then give him a righteous group beating to subdue him.

They quickly found the only private elevator that went directly from the top floor to the basement, decisively tore off the elevator door, and leaped into the dark elevator shaft.

Spider-Man never takes the elevator!

When they reached the lowest level of Fisk Tower, they found it eerily silent.

There were large splatters of blood on the ground, fragments of damaged research uniforms scattered everywhere, and even a few stark white bones could be seen; the air was filled with a strong smell of blood and an indescribable stench of decay.

"What happened here?"

The three Spider-Men suddenly had a bad feeling.

But with their mission at hand, they could only continue to push deeper into the laboratory.

The further they went, the denser the bloodstains became, as if some terrifying event had occurred here.

Then, they heard a chilling chewing sound coming from the control room.

The three held their breath and quietly approached; the sight through the observation window made them all gasp.

Kingpin's massive body was crouched on the ground, burying his head in the remains of a researcher.

His once immaculate suit was now tattered, a large chunk of flesh from his left shoulder was missing, and the exposed skin was a sickly grayish-blue, covered in bulging black veins.

As if sensing movement, Kingpin slowly raised his head.

His eyes were completely covered in a grayish-white, and fresh red meat scraps still hung from the corners of his mouth.

"Meat! More meat!"

His voice was hoarse and broken, like an old bellows being pulled.

His massive body swayed as he stood up, casting a suffocating shadow in the dim light.

"Zombie?"

Peter B and Gwen exclaimed in unison.

In their Universe, zombie-themed works were quite popular, so they naturally recognized Kingpin's current state as the classic image often seen in zombie films.

"What's a zombie?" Pork asked.

Peter B quickly explained: "A monster that eats people; those bitten by them will also turn into zombies."

Pork was shocked: "Ah? Do they eat pigs?"

Gwen: "Uh, probably."

Pork breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good then, I'm a spider, not a pig."

Peter B and Gwen: "..."

As expected of a cartoon character, he still had the presence of mind to crack a joke at a time like this.

Just as they were discussing, Kingpin had already started moving and charged towards them!

The Spider-Sense of the three Spider-Men simultaneously blared wildly; they swiftly dodged to both sides, and Kingpin missed, the huge impact shaking the ground.

"He wants to bite us!"

Gwen keenly sensed Kingpin's intention.

Peter B shouted: "We absolutely cannot let him hurt us! Subdue him first!"

The three Spider-Men instantly reached a tacit understanding, shooting several webs at Kingpin to restrain him, pulling the webs from different directions, making it difficult for Kingpin to move for a moment.

However, Zombie Kingpin's resistance was unusually fierce, like a relentless machine, tirelessly struggling wildly.

Don't let Kingpin's size fool you; he was all solid muscle.

Unlike Captain America, who was a technologically enhanced soldier, Kingpin was purely naturally fit, having honed his physique to the peak of human capability through decades of rigorous training.

If it weren't for the Spider-Men all possessing superhuman strength, they probably would have lost control of this berserk zombie long ago.

Even so, they couldn't maintain this state of control over Kingpin indefinitely.

"How do you deal with the zombies you mentioned?" Pork asked.

Gwen looked troubled: "According to the movies, it seems the only way is a headshot."

Now they were all in a dilemma.

Even if Kingpin truly became a so-called zombie, they couldn't bring themselves to do such a cruel thing.

Peter B hesitated: "Or, we could try to develop a serum to cure his condition."

"Hehe, I'm afraid this infection is irreversible."

A hoarse and distorted voice suddenly sounded not far away.

The three Spider-Men immediately looked in the direction of the sound, only to see a Spider-Man in a classic red and blue suit slowly emerging from the shadows.

His suit was damaged in several places, the lower half of his mask completely torn, exposing severely rotted lips and chin, with grayish-white teeth and dark red gums exposed.

Black viscous liquid dripped intermittently as he spoke, a disgusting sight.

Peter B's Spider-Sense simultaneously blared, and he exclaimed in surprise: "You're a Spider-Man from another Universe?"

Zombie Spider-Man bared his terrifying wide mouth, revealing a gruesome smile.

"That's right, in my Universe, we are experiencing a global zombie crisis; everyone has been infected and turned into zombies, even the superheroes, Avengers, X-Men, Defenders. Not a single one was spared; all became walking corpses like me."

Hearing Zombie Spider-Man's words, the three Spider-Men couldn't help but feel a chill run down their spines.

Especially Peter B, he knew the superhero teams mentioned by the other party; those powerful superheroes had actually all become flesh-eating zombies.

The mere thought of that scene filled one with deep despair!

Zombie Spider-Man continued: "Finally, we almost ate all the humans on the entire Earth; finding a living person was harder than meeting an alien, I was almost starving to death!"

"Who would have thought that at this moment, a quantum portal would bring me to this Universe!"

Zombie Spider-Man spread his arms, a Madness light flickering in his grayish-white eyes: "Look here, fresh flesh and blood everywhere, living humans walking on the streets; for me now, this is simply paradise!"

Gwen suppressed her anger and sternly questioned: "So you brought the virus here? You want this Universe to repeat the fate of your World?"

"Of course not."

Zombie Spider-Man shook his head: "After the lesson from the last Universe, I've understood that one Earth is far from enough; no matter how big this Planet is, or how many humans there are, there will eventually be a day when they are all eaten."

"It just so happens that I discovered this World's Kingpin actually secretly built a super-particle collider device that can connect to the Multiverse; do you know what that means?"

"It means I can get an endless supply of food from countless parallel Universes!"

"Never having to endure the torment of hunger again, I can fully enjoy this eternal feast!"

The three Spider-Men's eyes widened, shocked by this insane plan.

They all understood; Zombie Spider-Man was preparing to create a Multiverse cafeteria!

If Zombie Spider-Man's conspiracy succeeded, then humans from countless parallel Universes would become Zombie Spider-Man's food, and it might even spread to their Universe, which was something they absolutely could not allow.

Peter B was furious: "You are creating a disaster that will sweep across the Multiverse!"

"Once you become like me, you won't think that way."

Zombie Spider-Man let out a hoarse sneer.

Just then, a mechanical hum echoed from deep within the laboratory, and the indicator lights on the walls lit up blue in sequence.

A cold electronic voice resonated throughout the laboratory.

"Sequence successfully uploaded."

"Initiating dimensional matching object query."

"Second ignition countdown."

Through the observation window, the core of the super-particle collider device could be seen preheating, and then two terrifying particle beams collided in the vacuum tube, emitting dazzling energy sparks.

"It seems that Lady Octopus, who wasn't very tasty, has completed her mission."

Zombie Spider-Man nodded with satisfaction and said to the three Spider-Men: "My feast is about to begin; you all have a good time with them here, remember not to be eaten, otherwise you won't be able to turn into zombies."

With that, Zombie Spider-Man turned and left, and then three distorted figures emerged from the shadows.

Based on their remaining attire and physical characteristics, Peter B barely identified their identities: Rhino, Lizard, and Vulture.

Without exception, they were all Spider-Men's arch-nemeses.

However, at this moment, they all bore traces of being gnawed on and had been completely infected as zombies, their eyes fixed on the three Spider-Men in front of them, drooling with hunger.

"Meat! I want to eat meat!"

Zombie Rhino couldn't wait and charged first.

His body, even larger than Kingpin's, was like an out-of-control heavy tank, rumbling towards the three Spider-Men, directly smashing the experimental equipment in its path.

Seeing Rhino act first, Lizard and Vulture, fearing they would miss out on the meat if they were a step too late, immediately followed suit and launched their attacks.

Seeing this, the three Spider-Men had no choice but to release the webs restraining Zombie Kingpin and quickly scattered, desperately dodging the frantic attacks of the three zombies in the narrow laboratory space.

Although with their strength, taking on any single supervillain was not a problem, the opponents had become zombies incapable of feeling pain.

Even more terrifying, every attack from the opponents carried a deadly virus, like wielding a blade of shattering wind, even the slightest scratch could lead to their eternal damnation.

And Zombie Kingpin, no longer suppressed by Spider-Man, had now broken free from the webs on his body, roaring and pouncing on Peter B, who was closest.

"Oh no!"

Peter B's heart sank, and fine cold sweat beaded on his forehead.

The situation was rapidly deteriorating; four zombified supervillains were closing in from different directions, and the laboratory space was extremely limited, their room to dodge shrinking by the moment.

If this continued, let alone stopping Zombie Spider-Man's plan to open the Multiverse portal, even they themselves would be in grave danger; once injured by these zombies, they would quickly become like them, becoming accomplices in spreading the disaster.

At this critical moment, the surrounding electronic devices suddenly flashed blue lights simultaneously, emitting dynamic electronic sounds.

As the current converged, a dazzling electric light burst forth in the middle of the crowd, gradually condensing into a human-like silhouette.

"Electro!"

Seeing Max's appearance, Peter B's heart instantly sank to rock bottom.

Although this Electro had turned evil, he still recognized his identity at a glance.

In his opinion, Electro was also a classic opponent of Spider-Man, and his appearance here probably had only one reason: he too had been infected with the virus and turned into a zombie.

Just as Peter B was on high alert, Max's face suddenly showed an extremely strange expression, emitting an electronic sound.

"Pikachu!"

Max: (≧≦)

Peter B: "..."

Is this a zombie virus or a silly virus?

Strangely, the moment Max shouted that phrase, the four zombie supervillains on the field seemed to suddenly abandon their original targets, turning in unison to pounce on Max!

They didn't know what was going on, but they just really wanted to eat Max!

But Max was already fully charged at this moment; one could tell from his electronic voice that the battery was at least 90% or more.

Max raised his palms, and countless dazzling electric arcs converged in his palms!

Pfft!

Several electric arcs simultaneously blasted the four zombie supervillains.

Max was not like Peter B and the other Spider-Men; he had no intention of holding back, directly outputting maximum current, electrocuting the four zombie supervillains until they were charred black.

Except for Rhino, who was wearing special armor, the flesh and blood bodies of the other three zombie supervillains directly turned to charcoal in the electric current, finally resting in peace.

Rhino still had the strength to fight, roaring as he crawled up from the ground, ready to continue his charge.

Bang!

A crisp gunshot pierced the air.

Rhino's head exploded in response, his massive body swayed, and finally crashed to the ground.

"Are you all alright?"

Darian lowered the golden desert eagle in his hand, his gaze sweeping over the disheveled trio.

Behind him, Spider-Man Noir and Peni, the two Spider-Men, arrived a step later at the scene.

Seeing their arrival, Peter B breathed a sigh of relief: "Fortunately, you arrived in time, otherwise we would only be able to eat meat for the rest of our lives."

"If I turn into that, you have to kill me."

Gwen didn't want to become a zombie; eating people was one thing, but the most important thing was that her appearance would decline, and she wouldn't even look human anymore.

Peni nodded in agreement.

For them, girls, turning into that was even worse than being killed!

Peter B couldn't help but ask: "By the way, is Electro the helper you found?"

Darian shook his head: "No, he's from my Universe and traveled here with me."

Peter B was startled and asked in a low voice: "Then is he a good guy or a bad guy?"

In his Universe, Electro was a notorious bad guy, stealing electricity from the New York power plant every day, causing New York City residents to constantly suffer from internet and power outages, leading to endless complaints.

Especially some citizens who liked to play games, Electro's parents and family tree had been greeted tens of millions of times by them.

Darian chuckled: "Don't worry, I've reformed him into a good guy; he's now joined my X Squad and fights crime every day."

"That's amazing, how did you do it?" Peter B asked in surprise.

He also wanted to make the supervillains in his Universe good people, to stop them from going further down the path of crime, but unfortunately, they disagreed and instead gave him a good beating.

"It's simple, I gave him a large sum of money; without the worries of money, he naturally had no need to commit crimes."

Peter B: "..."

To be honest, I also have this problem.
