Chapter 30 - Draen and Lewis' closeness

No matter how angry Draen had been with Lewis, seeing him in such a fragile state filled him with nothing but misery.

For days, he had convinced himself that distance was necessary.

He had withheld his blood, refused to share even the smallest trace of his mana and treated Lewis with a coldness that neither of them deserved.

At the time, Draen had allowed his frustration and wounded pride to guide his actions. Every reminder of Drakar's interference had fueled the resentment growing inside him and unfortunately, Lewis had become the one forced to bear the consequences yet as Draen looked at him now, all he could feel was guilt.

Lewis had never asked for any of this.

He had not chosen to become caught between two dragons. He had not asked to be burdened with their conflicts, possessiveness or the dangerous forces that surrounded them.
