The heavy oak door of our hut clicked shut, sealing out the damp, bitter chill of the melting spring snow. But inside, the air was already suffocatingly hot, thick with the heavy, musky scent of a restless Level 5 predator.
Tigris didn't even make it three steps past the threshold before his self control completely shattered.
With a low, rumbling growl that vibrated through the timber floorboards, the massive tiger beastman spun me around and slammed my back against the sturdy support beam. His broad, calloused hands slid under my thick coat, ripping away the heavy fur layer in a single, desperate motion to expose my flushed, trembling skin.
"Tigris!" I gasped, my heart hammering like a trapped bird against my ribs as his golden eyes burned down at me with an unhinged, dark hunger.
