Borons are much like us humans; they age just as we do. However, while humans eventually die of old age, an average Boron can live for approximately 200 to 400 years, provided it does not contract a disease. They are immune to human illnesses; the diseases that affect the Boron world are entirely different—if a human were to contract one, they would die within a single day. Conversely, Borons remain unaffected by any human ailments. If a Boron bonds with a master, that master can also live as long as the Boron and will not die from any human disease. At their command lies immense power; Lucifer, the leader of a 'Shadow Army,' also possessed a Boron.
Mastering an average Boron can take anywhere from 200 to 327 years—or even longer if the master lacks sufficient strength. Success depends on the individual's capacity to endure pain and suffering; a strong mental constitution is essential. If the master fails in this regard, the Boron will kill them with its own hands, as a Boron will never accept a master weaker than itself. Once its master dies, that Boron cannot bond with another. Not far from Fujimoto Village, a village that used to be Fujimoto Village is now a barren land. No one cuts crops there, no one lives there. But now a fierce war is about to begin there. Between Lucifer and Sekai Saikyō no Otoko
Everyone in the small village could sense that menacing aura; the pressure was so intense that the weaker warriors fainted, while the stronger ones struggled to hold their ground—even those who remained standing had trembling legs.
Lucifer, too, realized from the sheer intensity of this aura that something immensely powerful was approaching—an entity so formidable that even he might not be able to stop it. From a distance, Saikyo's Boron was shouting for everyone to move aside and open the gates. Meanwhile, the warriors nearby readied their weapons, poised for Saikyo's arrival—though they could barely contain their impatience. Archers infused their arrows with magic spells; thanks to the enchantment, a single shot would multiply into fifty arrows. With about ten archers firing, a barrage of five hundred arrows was simultaneously hurtling toward Saikyo.
After firing the magic-infused arrow, the Athel warriors were jubilant. They taunted, "Let's see you escape this now! This arrow was fired by the ten best archers in our team—no one has ever survived it. We've never lost a battle because enemies couldn't even get close; our defense was so formidable that they would die before reaching us. Now die, you motherfucker!" With that, the Athel warriors shouted in triumph. Meanwhile, Saikyō was sprinting toward them; his speed was so immense that the naked eye could barely track him. As soon as Saikyō spotted the arrows raining down from the sky with his dark eyes, he asked Boron, "How many arrows are heading our way?" Boron glanced upward and replied, "Five hundred arrows are coming right at us." Panic set in: "Oh no... does this mean we're going to die? No, I don't want to die! Someone save me! Saikyō, you're the only one I have—please save me, I'm terrified." Saikyō snapped, "Cut the bullshit; I'm not in the mood for this. If anything happens to my sister, I'll take my own life." Boron fell completely silent. After a second, he said, "I was just joking, but you're taking this way too seriously. I guess I need to get serious too."
As he said this, the aura radiating from Saikyō's body vanished instantly. Everything around them went quiet, as if nothing had happened; no one could sense a thing—not even the slightest trace of aura. Inside the village, the Athel warriors assumed they had won the battle; they began to celebrate and... They were about to return to their routine tasks when the sentries stationed on the wall—who had been observing the events outside the village—noticed something strange: the arrow hadn't even hit the ground yet. This puzzled them; if the arrow hadn't landed, how had the man died? And if he hadn't died, where had he gone? Had he given up, realizing he could never defeat them, and fled beforehand? They couldn't make sense of the situation. Inside the main hall, even Lucifer was baffled—how could such a powerful aura vanish so quickly? But then, suddenly, a massive and terrifying aura was unleashed. It was so lethal that 85 percent of the villagers perished instantly; unable to withstand the crushing pressure of the aura, their bodies were literally pulverized by it. Blood was everywhere—the village was drenched in it. The very person who, just moments ago, had been chatting with his friend...He stood there before his friends—his face splattered with blood. By the time he grasped what had happened to him and his teammates, it was already too late. Saikyō was standing right behind him; Saikyō's aura was so immense that it was radiating from his entire body every second—a feat that would kill an ordinary human who even attempted it. However, Saikyō possessed a unique trait—a special kind of 'boron'—that allowed him to manipulate his aura however he pleased; yet, acquiring this power had cost him the most precious thing in his life.
Just as he realized someone was behind him and started to turn around, fear paralyzed him; he couldn't even muster the courage to look back. He had endured perilous missions and fought exhausting battles throughout his training, having spent half his life honing his skills alongside these very friends. But seeing years of hard work potentially destroyed in mere seconds—a scenario he had never imagined—brought him to tears. Overcome with the regret of failing to save his friends and realizing the true identity of the being behind that overwhelming aura, he understood that the battle they thought they were winning had actually been lost before it even began. Shattered by this realization, he collapsed to his knees and began pounding the ground with his fists. Saikyō watched it all from behind as the man sobbed uncontrollably, crying out, "You bastard... half my life..." Not just mine—you destroyed half a lifetime of hard work put in by me and my team in a single second. I might not even come close to your power level, but I have to take revenge on you; I have to kill you. I know I might not be able to do any of that, but I *have* to kill you. I need to avenge my friend and find meaning in the life I've lived so far. If I don't land even a single punch on you, my life will lose all meaning. I've been fighting since childhood, but I've never felt this defeated before. Tell me, you bastard—who are you, and what do you want from us? Athel summoned his courage; for a split second, he had forgotten that standing right behind him was someone a hundred thousand times more powerful. He jerked his head back to look at the enemy standing there, only to be stunned. He couldn't believe his eyes—the people they had been fighting turned out to be just one person, a mere fifteen-year-old boy.
The boy—who hadn't even fully come of age yet—forced him to question his own friends and a lifetime of training; he made him doubt the very purpose of his existence. He looked into the other's eyes and saw a darkness so profound that even a black hole paled in comparison. They stared into each other's eyes—or perhaps, the boy was simply trying to muster the courage to hold his ground. After hearing all this, Saikyō calmly asked, "Where is my sister, Hanako?" The boy was bewildered; he forgot his fear entirely and demanded, "Did you not hear what I just said, or are you pretending not to? I want answers to my questions." Saikyō replied, "I don't like answering the weak." He then raised his hand, placed the middle finger of his right hand against the center of the boy's forehead, and pressed down hard. Seeing the hand coming toward him, the boy was so terrified that he wet his pants, yet Saikyō remained unfazed. The boy tried to retreat but found himself unable to move backward; it was as if something was pulling him toward Saikyō. He wondered, "Is this the end? Have I truly achieved nothing in this life? Was my existence meaningless? Why am I so weak?" As Saikyō's finger touched the center of the boy's forehead, it pierced right through the skull—even though Saikyō hadn't even used his powers. This happened because Saikyō and Boron... It is only when he is using 100 percent of his power that Saikyō says, "I'll handle it myself."
Inside, Lucifer realizes that apart from himself and his twenty Athel warriors, no one else has survived; Hanako and Miyamoto have lost consciousness due to Saikyō's aura. Lucifer dispatches two of the twenty Athels to fight Saikyō while he waits inside, anticipating the moment Saikyō defeats all his shadows and reaches him. Lucifer remarks that he has finally found an opportunity to engage in a battle like this after many years.
