It wasn't what anyone expected. Ravyn was ruthless, everyone knew that. And sure, he didn't want a child with Daisy, didn't want any reminder of the worst mistake of his life.
But then again, the pup was innocent. To kill her or deny the child his or her life would bring consequences to the pack. The moon goddess did not look kindly on those who harmed the innocent.
Now that he thought of it, the pack had faced no consequences because Corvine had not killed Seraphine's child as Ravyn had instructed. The irony was not lost on him.
How could he not have known that his order had been disobeyed? However, he was glad to not have known, because his obsession with Daisy by then would have caused him to follow up and get it done. He would have murdered his own child in cold blood.
Thinking through it, his guilt and regret knew no bounds. But he couldn't undo the past. He could only try to do better in the future.
