Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: The Great Wall of Heaven

The Southern Region and the Central Continent were not connected by land. They were separated by the Sky-High Barrier—a massive wall of wind and lightning generated by the Heavenly Dao Sect's ancient arrays. It stood ten thousand feet high, a curtain of death that prevented the "barbarians" of the South from entering the holy lands of the Center.

On the Southern side of the barrier, the Eternal Night Army gathered.

Fifty black warships floated in the sky. On the deck of the flagship, the Eclipse, Mo Tian stood with his hands behind his back.

"They call it the Wall of Heaven," Mo Tian sneered, looking at the swirling storm of lightning ahead. "It looks more like a fence to keep the cattle in."

"The barrier is powered by five Spirit Vein Nodes on the other side," Ghost One reported, holding a map. "Guarded by the Myriad Beast Mountain sect. Unless we destroy the nodes, the lightning will vaporize our fleet."

"Then we knock," Mo Tian said.

He stepped off the ship. He didn't fly; he walked on the air, each step creating a ripple of black resonance.

He drew the Heaven-Splitter. The sword was no longer white. It was a jagged shard of obsidian, pulsating with red veins.

"System. Overdrive."

[Skill: World Eater Mode.] [Energy Input: 100% Spirit Vein Reserves.]

Mo Tian raised the sword. The sky behind him turned purple. A phantom image of a Demon God, a thousand feet tall, appeared behind him, mimicking his movements.

"Open."

He swung.

The phantom swung.

A crescent of black void, massive enough to slice a moon in half, crashed into the Wall of Heaven.

CRACK-BOOM!

The sound was deafening. The lightning storm stalled. Then, with a scream like tearing fabric, the barrier split. A gap, ten miles wide, was carved through the storm.

"Advance!" Xue Yao roared from the ship.

The Eternal Night fleet surged through the gap.

On the other side, the disciples of the Myriad Beast Mountain looked up in terror. They saw the storm break. They saw the black ships. And they saw the man floating in the void, holding a sword that dripped with the blood of the sky.

"Invasion!" A sentry screamed, lighting a beacon. "The South has broken through!"

Mo Tian sheathed his sword. He looked at the lush, spirit-rich lands of the Central Continent.

"Smells like rich meat," Mo Tian smiled. "Let's eat."
