Black Scripture, the strongest combat unit among the Slane Theocracy's Six Scriptures, permanently holds twelve seats, with the God-kin, who possesses the bloodline of the Six Gods of the Theocracy, as its leader.
As the most secretive force, the Black Scripture members disguise themselves with magic items when on missions and use code names during operations.
The God-kin Captain's code name is 'Black Scripture'.
Due to his special identity, his real name is hidden more deeply than that of other members, so no one knows what he is called.
When not on missions, he lives anonymously among the common people of the Theocracy, making him very mysterious.
The God-kin Captain raised the spear, a weapon left by the Six Gods, and charged towards Lock. Though the spear looked old and worn, its power could easily pierce through steel armor, and even low-tier enchanted defensive gear couldn't withstand it.
However, this posed no threat to Lock. With a slight tremor, his tailcoat and disguise were completely shattered, and a white Divine-class magical robe instantly appeared on him.
Possessing the skill 'Instant Armament', he could equip designated gear in an instant, guarding against any sudden attack.
The God-kin Captain was the strongest native Lock he had faced so far, and to show respect, he specially took out the World Champion's Armament, the staff of light, which he had obtained in Yggdrasil—a super item comparable to a Guild Weapon.
"Hmph!"
The God-kin Captain's spear thrust towards Lock's chest. His speed was much faster than Clementine's when she used her self-created martial art, Swift Wind Break, and this was just a normal attack from him.
This was the difference in basic attributes between high-level warriors and Magic Casters!
Lock couldn't help but sigh to himself. If comparing only warrior abilities, even with martial arts enhancements, he couldn't be stronger than the God-kin Captain in front of him. Unless he could create moves that surpassed the limits of martial arts and rivaled the warrior class skills in Yggdrasil.
However, I'm not just a warrior!
Divine Light Shield!
Clang!
The God-kin Captain's spear strike hit a holy light barrier and was easily deflected. With his rich experience, he immediately retreated and then held his spear horizontally in front of him.
Clearly, his judgment was correct.
Polaris Rain!
Tiny, shimmering stars, like a torrential downpour, bombarded the God-kin Captain.
The God-kin Captain quickly dodged. Because he had already created some distance, he wasn't surrounded by the center of the meteor shower. Most of the starlight fell to the ground, causing explosions, the power of which was even greater than a third-tier magic, Lightning Ball.
Seeing that the remaining starlight was unavoidable, the God-kin Captain thrust his spear diagonally upwards. The worn spear unleashed a massive spear-light, which fiercely collided with the starlight, exploding in the air.
The person in front of him is not simple!
The God-kin Captain gripped his spear tightly, vigilantly observing Lock's every move, thinking to himself.
Just as Lock was about to pursue, sudden figures appeared on both his sides: a young man holding a rapier and dressed in green, and another man in a full red bodysuit.
Black Scripture's Second Seat, Time Turbulence, and Twelfth Seat, Tenjou Tenge!
They simultaneously launched an attack on Lock.
Time Turbulence swung his rapier with an eerie speed, thrusting it towards Lock's throat.
Tenjou Tenge, on the other hand, threw a punch, aiming for his abdomen from behind.
Hmph!
Boring tricks!
Perhaps for the natives, Time Turbulence, who could use time-based skills, and Tenjou Tenge, who possessed extremely strong stealth abilities, were difficult opponents to deal with. But for Lock, their levels were simply too low.
Time Turbulence's restrictive skills did not affect Lock, and Tenjou Tenge's movements were seen through at a glance.
Their attacks passed through Lock, and they were astonished to find that their target was merely an illusion.
"Careful!"
Ah ah ah~~~
A roaring thunder dragon charged towards the two of them. Having missed their attacks, they had no room to dodge. A blue magic shield instantly enveloped them, and accompanied by a sacred song, another layer of golden light immediately covered the magic shield.
Boom!
The lightning dragon instantly engulfed the two, but after the lightning dissipated, although they were smoking with char, they were not in life-threatening danger.
Dodging the God-kin Captain's spear attack, Lock glanced at the two Magic Casters in the distance.
One was an old man in black robes holding a staff, and the other was a blonde woman in a nun's habit with a headscarf.
Third Seat, Four Elements, and Fourth Seat, Holy Chants!
When Lock noticed them, the two, along with another female Magic Caster wearing a large magic hat and disheveled clothes—Eleventh Seat, Infinite Magic—all simultaneously cast offensive magic.
Explosion!
Holy Chant!
Whirlwind Blade!
Three attacks flew towards Lock, but he didn't even have the interest in defending. Instead, he used the staff of light like a long pole, sweeping it fiercely at the God-kin Captain, who was attacking him up close.
The three magic attacks accurately hit Lock's back but were blocked by a membrane of light and then vanished without a trace.
The God-kin Captain, however, held his spear upright and slid back under Lock's sweeping staff.
"What!?"
Four Elements, Holy Chants, and Infinite Magic, the three Magic Casters, looked in astonishment at Lock, who slowly turned to face them. Magic attack nullification, apart from humans with special innate abilities, was a rare ability possessed only by bone dragons among the undead!
The moment Lock's lips curled into a smile, a huge sense of terror instantly swept over the three. The howling lightning roared like a ferocious beast from the primeval wilderness.
Chain Dragon Lightning!
"Watch me!"
A burly man shouted and rushed in front of the three.
He held a large arm shield in each hand. He was the one skilled in defense within the Black Scripture, Eighth Seat—Myriad Shield Wall.
Myriad Shield Wall brought his two shields together, forming a shield wall that completely covered his body, then quickly activated the higher-tier martial art 'Impregnable Fortress'. Under such defense, even someone who had reached the hero's realm would find it impossible to break through, but...
Boom!
Ah!!!
A flash like the wrath of a thunder god instantly engulfed Myriad Shield Wall. Amidst the electric light, the giant man let out a tragic wail.
The Archangel of Brilliance was revered by the Theocracy as the highest-tier angel precisely because it could use seventh-tier magic, a realm that no ordinary human has yet been able to reach.
The Chain Dragon Lightning, also a seventh-tier spell, had a power capable of even destroying Ainz's favorite summoned tank—the Death Knight, which was approximately level 35 but had defense capabilities of level 40.
Although all members of the Black Scripture had reached the hero's realm, apart from the God-kin Captain, the average level of the others was comparable to, or even slightly lower than, that of a Death Knight, and their defensive capabilities were inferior. How could a mere Myriad Shield Wall withstand such an attack?
The big man with two shields went up! And then he fell.
But Chain Dragon Lightning is not a single-target attack; it will continue to seek other targets within range!
Ah!!! * 3
Because Myriad Shield Wall stepped forward, the unprotected old man, Four Elements, as well as the two girls, Holy Chants and Infinite Magic, were also hit by the Dragon Lightning. They fell to the ground wailing, perfectly aligned.
The sudden turn of events left several members of the Black Scripturedumbfoundedd.
"Lady Kerry! Quickly use!!!"
The God-kin Captain immediately charged towards Lock. The spear in his hand seemed to have activated some ability, or perhaps he used some skill, as it glowed with dazzling light.
