Kakashi looked at Touhuan. In a way, their situations were quite similar; both had the Sharingan, used Lightning Release as their main attack, and knew some sword techniques.
Therefore, Touhuan must have a way to help him get stronger.
"Although you've used the Sharingan left to you by my clan brother very well, you're too stuck in the ordinary Uchiha fighting style," Touhuan said. "Using the Sharingan to copy ninjutsu is useful, but your chakra can't support the huge cost of temporarily copied ninjutsu. You should know that even the real Uchiha clan, when facing strong enemies, only use a few ninjutsu they've mastered through many trials."
"Now, what you need to improve is your chakra control." After saying this, Touhuan made a hand seal.
Thick, sticky lightning appeared around Touhuan, then formed into a human shape. The details of this deep blue lightning figure became clear, and Kakashi was shocked to see that the lightning figure looked exactly like him.
At that moment, the figure's expression also changed, copying Kakashi's.
"This…" Touhuan's action completely shocked Kakashi, who pulled up his headband and widened his Sharingan.
What Touhuan used wasn't a lightning clone, nor a ninjutsu; it was simply precise control over chakra. Such techniques aren't useful in combat, but controlling chakra at this level is something even Tsunade, known for her chakra control, might not surpass.
Touhuan snapped his fingers, and the lightning figure vanished instantly. He smiled at Kakashi and said, "If you can do that, then you can do this with very little chakra."
Touhuan took a kunai from his pouch and used a small amount of lightning chakra to create a magnetic field.
To Kakashi's surprise, the kunai floated in the air and spun quickly. Touhuan pointed and clenched his fist.
The kunai spun so fast that even Kakashi's Sharingan couldn't follow it. In a blink, it went over a hundred meters and hit a huge rock, shattering the nearly one-meter-wide boulder into pieces.
Kakashi looked at Touhuan in disbelief. Any Chūnin or higher could do something similar with ninjutsu, but the speed of this kunai was about three times the speed of sound. Even a fast Jonin couldn't dodge it easily. Most importantly, the chakra Touhuan used wasn't even enough for a basic Shadow Clone Technique.
"How...how did you do that?" Kakashi asked.
"Kakashi, have you carefully studied the electrical current made by Lightning Release?" Touhuan smiled. "Lightning Release can generate a current like natural lightning. If controlled well, it can create a strong magnetic field. With little chakra, this field can make metal move at the speed I just showed. I call this technique the Railgun."
"If you learn this, your chakra problem won't be as bad."
After speaking, Touhuan threw a scroll to Kakashi. "Go back and practice what's on this. Besides me, only you can learn this technique now. Without the Sharingan's dynamic vision, aiming is very hard. Most of my other clansmen aren't very talented with Lightning Release."
"This is too valuable," Kakashi said, taking the scroll.
"If it's too valuable, trade it for your Chidori. I can teach Sasuke. The ninjutsu I made isn't really for children," Touhuan said.
Kakashi smiled helplessly. Was the ninjutsu he worked hard on just for children in Touhuan's eyes? But thinking carefully, all he had, besides the White Fang from the shrine, was only Chidori, barely worth the ninjutsu Touhuan would teach him.
"I'll send you the scroll for Chidori before we leave," Kakashi said.
"Oh, and if you're going to Kirigakure, take this too." Touhuan smiled and unfastened the Lightning Blade from his waist, tossing it to Kakashi.
"Is that necessary?" Kakashi asked, puzzled, taking the sword. "I haven't practiced swordsmanship in a long time."
"This sword isn't for you to use," Touhuan laughed. "For those rogue ninja from Kirigakure, just seeing this sword is more effective than any ninjutsu."
"Alright, I understand." Kakashi didn't fully understand, but since Touhuan gave him his almost inseparable sword, there must be a reason.
The next day, Kakashi received the mission report. As Touhuan predicted, he, Genma Shiranui, Raidō Namiashi, and other former subordinates of the Fourth Hokage were organized into a team and sent to the southeastern Land of Fire border to help clear rogue ninjas from Kirigakure.
That afternoon, Kakashi picked up Naruto from the Ninja Academy and took him to the Uchiha clan's territory.
"Brother Kakashi, where are we going?" Naruto asked.
"I have a long mission and need Aunt Mikoto to take care of you for a while," Kakashi said.
"Eh?" Naruto was surprised. "I can take care of myself."
"You mean eating ramen every day?" Kakashi asked.
"Uh..." Naruto stuck out his tongue. "So, am I going to live with Sasuke?"
"What? You don't want to?" Kakashi asked.
"No, I want to," Naruto said happily.
"But you must behave." Naruto looked at Kakashi.
Kakashi patted his head. "I'll come back soon after finishing the mission."
At the Uchiha clan's house, Kakashi knocked on the Fugaku residence. Mikoto opened the door, surprised.
"Kakashi? And Naruto, what brings you here?"
"Hello, Aunt Mikoto," Naruto said.
"Kakashi, I have a long mission and I'll be away. I want you to take care of Naruto," Kakashi said.
Mikoto nodded and glanced at Naruto. "Taking care of him? No problem, but..."
Kakashi understood. No one would dare refuse under Touhuan's influence, though the Third Hokage might be upset.
"It's alright," Kakashi said. "No one can say no, Mikoto-sama."
"Okay." Mikoto smiled. "Would you like to stay for a meal?"
"No, I need to pack," Kakashi said. "Naruto, don't trouble Mikoto while you stay."
"Okay," Naruto said.
Sasuke peeked from behind Mikoto.
"Naruto? You're staying at our house?"
"Yes," Mikoto said, patting Sasuke's head. "You two should get along. Sasuke, take Naruto inside."
"Okay!" Sasuke said excitedly.
"Thank you for taking care of Naruto, Mikoto-sama," Kakashi said.
"Don't mention it," Mikoto said, watching Naruto and Sasuke. "He's Kushina's son."
After leaving, Kakashi returned home and saw Jiraiya waiting.
"Lord Jiraiya?" Kakashi asked. "What is it?"
"Hasn't Naruto come back yet?" Jiraiya asked.
"I'm going to the border for a long mission, so he'll stay with the Uchiha clan," Kakashi said.
"So you sent him there?" Jiraiya asked.
"Is there a problem?" Kakashi asked.
"No, but Naruto is a Jinchūriki! You shouldn't have sent him there," Jiraiya said.
Kakashi's expression changed: "Of course I know! He's my teacher, the son of Minato Namikaze! Are you worried about that or his Jinchūriki status?"
Jiraiya flushed, then paled.
"Have you thought about the Uchiha controlling the Nine-Tails?" Jiraiya asked.
"Kakashi, you can't say that carelessly," Kakashi said coldly.
Jiraiya realized he had gone too far and sighed.
"Lord Jiraiya, if you want to see Naruto, go to the Uchiha clan. Fugaku and Mikoto won't refuse," Kakashi said.
Then he went inside and closed the door.
Jiraiya glanced at the Hatake home, sighed, and hurried to the Hokage Building.
He entered Hiruzen Sarutobi's office, looking dejected.
"Is Kakashi still insisting the Uchiha take care of Naruto?" Hiruzen asked.
"Yes," Jiraiya nodded. "He trusts the Uchiha more than us."
Hiruzen lit his pipe. "It's about the rumors of Naruto. Danzō did this behind my back. Forcing an explanation would only make it worse."
Jiraiya gave a long look, shook his head, and said, "Forget it. The Uchiha wouldn't harm a child. By the way, after Kakashi left the Anbu, do you have a candidate for the vacant Anbu captain?"
