"Aunt Wang, please rest. You've been working hard all morning. Come join us for lunch," Jiang Ning said, stepping out of the villa to address Aunt Wang, who was still trimming the flowers and plants.
"No need, Son-in-law. You and Miss Mengmeng go ahead and eat. I'll just finish up here a bit longer. These plants haven't been tended to in ages and have become quite overgrown," Aunt Wang replied, waving her hand.
People like her, who had served the Master for so long, were accustomed to seeing themselves as mere nannies or servants. Before, they would have eaten with the other nannies and bodyguards, never with the owners.
Though the villa was large and now only contained herself, Jiang Ning, Mengmeng, and Su Meng, making it impossible to cook separately, she understood it was proper to wait until the owners had finished eating. This helped maintain the clear distinction between master and servant.
"Grandma Wang, Grandma Wang, please eat with us!" Mengmeng chirped, stepping out of the villa.
Jiang Ning continued to persuade her, "Yes, Aunt Wang, it's just the four of us here. We're like family. Come eat before the food gets cold. Mengmeng, go take Grandma Wang's hand and bring her to the table."
Mengmeng nodded obediently. "Okay."
"No need, my sweet little Miss. Grandma Wang's hands are dirty. Fine, then we'll all eat together."
Aunt Wang hastily waved her hand, preventing Mengmeng from approaching, afraid she might dirty the child.
When Aunt Wang finished washing her hands and entered the dining room, she was greeted by a table laden with dishes, their savory aromas filling the air. Her appetite immediately surged.
Five dishes and one soup, each dish was a masterpiece of culinary artistry. The exquisite knife skills and vibrant colors made it almost a shame to disturb the arrangement with chopsticks.
Aunt Wang's eyes widened. "S-Son-in-law, did you make all these dishes?"
"Hehe, Grandma Wang, of course my dad made these! My dad is the best cook in the world—he makes the most delicious food in the entire world!" Mengmeng seemed to have an irresistible urge to boast about her father whenever he was praised. The more compliments he received, the prouder she became.
Jiang Ning nodded. "Aunt Wang, please eat."
"I never knew you were such a good cook, Son-in-law. You're even better than the Master!" Aunt Wang took a bite, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"It's not bad. Eat more if you like it," Jiang Ning replied modestly.
"Mengmeng, after we finish, shall we take some food to Mom? Okay?"
Jiang Ning had made extra dishes today, packing them in a thermal container.
Having noticed Su Meng hadn't slept well that morning, his heart overflowed with affection. Perhaps it was the lingering warmth of their first kiss the night before, but Jiang Ning wanted to surprise Su Meng with a grand gesture and shower her with even more love.
This was perhaps the first time Jiang Ning had truly taken the initiative to pursue a girl.
Although Su Meng was now his wife, having already registered their marriage, Jiang Ning had shifted from a passive role to an active one in their relationship.
"Really?" Mengmeng blinked her bright, lively eyes.
"Really," Jiang Ning smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Mm-hmm, Son-in-law, drive carefully," Aunt Wang added, standing up to give him a reminder.
"Got it, Aunt Wang. Come on, Mengmeng," Jiang Ning said, grabbing the insulated food container from the kitchen and taking Mengmeng's hand as they walked out of the villa.
"Yay! Let's go, Daddy! Do you think Mommy will be super happy and excited when she sees us suddenly appear at her company? Will she give Mengmeng and Daddy kisses?"
Mengmeng's mind raced with images of their sudden appearance at her mother's office, picturing her mother's delighted, thrilled, and surprised expression.
"Hmm, Mommy will definitely be very happy," Jiang Ning nodded in agreement.
