Lin Meiyin looks up at him. "You want me to marry you" she said.
"Only on paper no mutual or intimate feelings, you become my wife for a year and I'll help you destroy them all and then you can get everything you want then we can get divorced" he said extinguishing the cigarette and throwing it out the window.
"Don't rush to make a decision think about it" he said. Lin Meiyin was quiet. "There are conditions if there's someone else you can get a divorce or don't sign the contract " he said.
"Um I'll think about it, but I just can't marry a man I barely know and I just met today " she said.
"I'm Gu Chenyu" he said. Emma's eyes widened.
"Y...you're a Gu, I mean from the Gu family" she said
"Is there a problem with that?" He asked with a frown.
"No there isn't but I heard that Zihan..I mean Gu Zihan had an older brother" said Lin Meiyin.
"We don't consider each other as brothers" Gu Chenyu said with no emotion.
"Okay I didn't mean to bring that up" she said.
"You seem to feel better now you can leave" said Gu Chenyu.
Lin Meiyin's cheeks turn red and she fiddles with the blanket.
"I don't have a home anymore I have nowhere else to go" she said.
"Pathetic" he sneers. " If you need anything push the button on your side someone will attend to you" he said leaving the room. Lin Meiyin looks at the contract on front of her and then she remembers everything and her eyes turn red. She remembers Lin Xuewei's smile, and Gu Zihan's behavior. She looks at herself in the mirror she became like this because of Lin Xuewei; she donated her kidney to Lin Xuewei and she got fat because of the drugs she was taking, in front of the mirror was a fat girl with red dyed hair. Lin Xuewei told her that red looks good on her which was a big lie for the first time Lin Meiyin felt ugly.
"I'm so hideous, so all these years I've been a laughing stock in the eyes of my family" she said to herself, how hurtful it felt. Lin Meiyin stayed in the room all day caressing the contract, she opens it and reads the rules, her hands shaking as she held the pen in her hand.
"There's no turning back now I won't think of how it would hurt them, as long as I feel satisfied I don't care anymore " she said to herself signing, she writes her name bodly and puts her signature.
Lin Meiyin pushes the button, and after a while a woman comes into the room dressed like a maid and then looks at her.
"Hello Miss Lin you can call me Aunt Chu do you need anything?" She asked with a smile.
"Please I need to speak with Mr Gu and I'm a bit hungry "said Lin Meiyin.
"Okay Miss Emma, dinner will be ready soon " said Aunt Chu leaving. Lin Meiyin looks at herself in the mirror again her hands on her face; all this fat made her feel disgusted. "This is not the best version of myself it's the worst "she said.
The lady comes in with some soup and then serves Lin Meiyin.
Lin Meiyin looks at the chicken soup and then she looks at Aunt Chu.
" I'm sorry I'm going on diet you could just get me some salad please " said Lin Meiyin with a polite smile.
"Okay Miss Lin " said Aunt Chu leaving with the food.
Gu Chenyu comes into the room and sees Emma still in bed sitting up straight, he looks at her his hands behind his back.
"I've made a decision I agree to marry you, I've already signed it " she said giving him the file. "Okay then " he said signing too.
"You seemed to have made a good choice Mrs Gu " Gu Chenyu said and he notices her downcast eyes.
"What's with that look?" He asked feeling annoyed.
"I thought I was going to get married out of true love" she said.
"Well you're so unlucky there's no true love" he said to her.
"I'm beginning to agree with that now Mr Gu ; I have a few things I want to do I'm moving to London; I need to get myself back, and I want them to think I'm gone for good,I want to strike them unaware when they let their guard down" she said.
"Whatever you say; the only thing I need you to do is to be there and show up when I need you to" he said.
"Okay agreed" she said with a nod.
"When you're better you can move to London" he said.
Aunt Chu comes into the room holding a plate of vegetable salad.
"Good evening Young Master Lu" she said. Gu Chenyu nods and then looks at the dish and then at Lin Meiyin,who turns her face away shyly and tucks some hair behind her ear.
"I'm not sure this is necessary, I didn't make a fuss about your weight "he said.
"You didn't make a fuss but others will, it's for my sake I have to save face for Mr Gu by the way I feel ugly and-
"Whatever have a good night" he said walking away.
Lin Meiyin starts eating and she forces herself to eat vegetables.
"I could add some slim tea and exercise but I'll start with the vegetables first Auntie" said Lin Meiyin.
Aunt Chu nods "I'll get that for you"she said leaving the room.
Three Weeks Later
Lin Meiyin finally had some strength to get up she had lost some weight and dyed her hair black. She stared at herself in the mirror she had changed a lot she felt a prettier, with black hair.
Aunt Chu comes into the room "Master Lu requests for you" she said with a surprised look, staring at Lin Meiyin.
Lin Meiyin nods and goes downstairs to meet him, Gu Chenyu looks at the woman before him he's face looked a bit surprised but he changes his facial expression immediately, back to the way it was.
"Mr Gu you requested for me"she said, it has been weeks since she last saw him it was like they were never married.
"My Auntie is coming for a visit so I need you to prepare"he said.
"Um is there anything you need me to do?" She asked, fiddling with her fingers.
"She's here"came Aunt Chu 's voice.
"Sit on my lap "he said.
"What?" She said with red cheeks.
"You heard what I said "he said.
"Um I...I...Why-
What happened next shocked Lin Meiyin Gu Chenyu pulled her to himself and she fell right on his lap, her cheeks were flushed and then her facial expression shocked.
"Look at them, young adults these days"came an old woman's voice, as she walks into the living room and sees Lin Meiyin sitting on Gu Chenyu's lap, Gu Chenyu forces her head to rest on his chest like they were cuddling, and his hand resting on her waist. Lin Meiyin felt very uncomfortable,
"Welcome Auntie"said Gu Chenyu with a smile as he played with Lin Meiyin's hair, and fiddles with it, every touch was like a shockwave.
"Is this the lucky bride come let me see you"said Miss Lu fei stretching her arms open towards Lin Meiyin, who felt frozen.
"Meiyin's s a bit shy baby get up meet Auntie"said Gu Chenyu patting her butt so she would stand up.
"BABY!! WHO'S YOUR BABY" Lin Meiyin said to herself her cheeks turn more red as she felt his hand tap her butt.
Lin Meiyin looks at him and then stands up shyly and goes towards Aunt Fei.
"Um hello Auntie" Lin Meiyin said with a smile.
"Finally the brat got married" she said, "she's very beautiful, you've been a rascal your is going to be mad at you, are you sir you're really married" said Aunt Fei hinting something.
"Of course Meiyin come here, we're married "said Gu Chenyu.
"You're not wearing rings" she said.
"I've got the rings here" said Gu Chenyu signaling Aunt Chu and Aunt Chu comes to the living room with a red box, Gu Chenyu takes the box and then opens it, inside were wedding rings.
"We got the rings late and I was too busy how rude of me to derive my sweet wife of not wearing a ring" he said taking out her chubby beautiful fingers and placing the diamond ring on it, Gu Chenyu smiles and then he kisses her hand. Lin Meiyin felt like she couldn't breathe.
Aunt Fei looks at the marriage certificate, and then at them, while Gu Chenyu gives Lin Meiyin a ring to put on his finger.
Her hands shaking.
"You didn't give the poor girl a proper wedding, shame on you" she said
" Meiyin's not feeling too well, so we just decided to get the certificate first we'll have a wedding in the summer by the way she'll be leaving for London next tomorrow she had an accident, so she'll be going there to recuperate"said Gu Chenyu stroking Lin Meiyin's waist.
"You two should come for dinner tomorrow before you leave "said Aunt Fei, standing up and was about to leave, Lin Meiyin didn't know where she got her courage from and she stands up.
"Um Auntie please stay for dinner, I want you to stay for dinner " said Lin Meiyin.
Gu Chenyu gives her a glare, "I would love to show you my cooking skills, Chenyu didn't' tell me you were coming or else I would have prepared dinner earlier "said Lin Meiyin.
"Okay" said Aunt Fei stopping her tracks midway and going back to sit down.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Getting along "she said going into the kitchen. "Let me serve you some tea first " said Lin Meiyin brewing some tea and serving Aunt Fei some flower tea.
"You know what I like I'm impressed " said Aunt Fei nodding her head.
