"Farmer or Cultivator, why not both?" He said with confidence, it was not easy for one to bargain with the gods, and he had just done so.
Enoa wanted to roll her eyes, "Are you certain? You cannot undo this once you've made your decision."
"I've always known farming to be my calling, and despite the fact that I know nothing of this world, I hope to retain my occupation, and become an even better farmer if I can, not to mention the perks the class gives." He carefully chose his words, tightening his fists in contained rage. He was going nowhere, he was certain of that, and upon learning that the gods were watching him, and were evidently the wind blowing his sails, he chose to play safe.
Enoa nodded and the blue information tab between them disappeared, later in a few seconds appearing with more information across it.

[You've completed the opening act, and you have been rewarded with a lucky roll.]
[You defeated the T-rex prototype all without taking any damage, impressive. You have earned + 2 charisma]
"Hmmm…" He read the information quite keenly when Enoa's voice broke through, "You can touch the tab, you can click on it. I know it sounds ridiculous, and maybe fantastic, but you can."
Ren paid the angel a glance, and then ran his fingers on the tab, 'Solid and yet soft on my fingers.'
"The path to bettering yourself, whether becoming a better Farmer or Cultivator is yours to take. There are no manuals for you to follow, but remember, the system is bound to you, and through it the gods, You best keep them entertained if you intend to retain your privileges. Now, I must go." The angel explained, and with a graceful spin dissolved into a cloud of sparkly dust and disappeared.
Moo! His cows cried, and he turned to them, "I guess it's just I and you guys."
Ren had been translocated into Enesh in the evening, soon after the sun had set, and immediately got barraged with all that had just transpired.
'Gods taking interest in me? I must entertain them. Do they think I'm a jester of some sort?'
Although things had been rushed, Ren was in a stable position, many in the past had chosen to attack the angels assigned to them and had been destroyed in the moment. The young man was adapting rather fast.
The breeze was cold, and upon looking around, walking within the radius of his land, he realized two things; that he was by a large mountain that went tall into the clouds, covered in ice caps, and that he was not alone. Below from where he stood, further down, and between the trees, he could see multiple light sources. He had neighbors, and he knew he had to get along well with them. He also had a lot of explaining to do once they realized his presence, but for now, he decided that he would just go to sleep, it had been a long day.
[You have an unopened message] the system interface informed him, and he groaned. This time, the message popped into his mind, accompanied with the mild headache he had felt since the first.
"I'll handle that tomorrow, I need to sleep." He waved away the intrusive message, almost staggering to his front door. The adrenaline he had felt upon being pitched against the supposedly dinosaur had faded, and now, he was beginning to feel the exhaustion from working the entire day.
Usually, his home was always lit, but a disadvantage of being pulled to a medieval world that had not discovered electricity was the absence of power lines, an inconvenience that he would have to get used to.
The hours went seamlessly enough, until he heard a noise. A crow from a rooster, and he slowly got up from his bed, his face crumpled in annoyance.
The bird crowed again, and Ren wondered to himself, "I don't rear chickens." He scrambled up, pulling up his room curtains. He squinted his eyes over the bright sunlight that phased through his windows. His town back home never received so much sun.
'Is it noon already?'
He spotted the rooster above one of his cows, and it appeared to be feeding on its ticks. He was about to head outside when he heard a voice, another human. He knew he would be facing this, but this was much sooner than he had expected, he had not even gotten the time to rehearse what he would say in the advent that enquiries about him were asked.
He saw the man that approached, wearing clothes that seemed like clean rags, they were not torn, nor were they too large, they simply were too unsophisticated, like a piece of cheap fabric had been cut to cover one's body, with no thought going into appearances. Ren could see the skeptism and confusion in the man's face. The man was inspecting the place as he crept further. Ren knew he had to do something, he had to talk to him, if only to familiarize himself with a resident before he got exposed to many more others.
He donned a tank top, and wore one of his rugged work trousers and stepped out. At the back of his mind the thought that he could communicate with this person, he remembered seeing the skill [General language understanding], what more could it mean beyond the fact that he could speak to practically anyone, it was time to find out.
His door opened and he could see the man visibly tense up. The strange man was just by his pen, and he had stood there wondering whether it was fine to go in or whether it would be breaching into another's property.
'The dinosaur is gone.' Ren realized, zoning out for a moment.
"Hey there." Ren cried out, raising his right arm. He tried to wear his most jovial smile, hoping to come off as friendly.
'Did he hear me? I hope he did, and does 'hey there' mean the same everywhere?'
The man returned his greeting with a nod and then uttering the word, "Daysdawn." Ren Hanaki had heard him loud and clear, he wasn't sure what the word meant itself but he knew it had to be a greeting.
'Must be something similar to good morning, or good day.'
"Daysdawn."
The man's eyes ran through Ren, from his feet to his head, appraising him. He stopped once his eyes met Ren's.
"I came for my rooster, my cat chased it off my land and I went after it here." He paused, turning to the rooster still atop the cow, his eyes squinted. He turned back to Ren, "Excuse me, but have you always been here?"
Ren froze for a bit, his heartbeat rate jumping up.
"It's just that sometimes I take the sheep pass here, and I've never noticed your home, which I must say is quite uniquely built."
'Do I just tell the truth?'
"I haven't noticed people around either. Are you from below?" Ren spoke, choosing to be vague, and leaving room for speculation. What he believed he needed to do now was to seem as non-threatening as he could possibly be.
"We are a quiet people, but we are very aware of our home, especially since Combec has been threatening us."
'Combec? Is that a person, a place?'
"Trust me, I'm not affiliated with this Combec." He stated, wearing his most convincing smile, which showed most of his teeth.
The man did not speak, instead, he went into the pen seeing as Ren did not object and lured his rooster with some feed, capturing it back. He bowed mildly at Ren, and turned to leave. He stopped after a few pages suddenly,
"I don't think you are from Combec either." The man said, and walked away. Ren let out a sigh of relief but he understood his situation. Very soon, he'll get a number of appearances at his home. It was inevitable that he would mix up with them. However, the words the man last uttered stayed with him somewhat, like sticky goo that stuck to a surface.
The man had curly black hair, a slim physique with a faint almost pink-white skin, whereas he in contrast had straight long hair, eyes that were dark and quiet, with lids resting low.
His mind drifted to unsavory memories when a headache pierced through his mind.
"Urgghh!" He grunted in pain.
[You have an unopened message.]
"Did Enoa teach me how to make the tab appear? I suppose not."
He however recalled that Enoa had called it the 'system.'
"System tab." He said aloud, and his information tab hovered before him, like a floating transparent tablet.
There, he saw his stats once again, and the unopened message.
[Congratulations, you have defeated the monster Cain, and protected the Alpha ram, and the rest of the herd.]
[You have earned a lucky roll]
"Open," He muttered, and a massive holographic dice appeared in place of the system tab, already rolling. The dice landed at five.
[Lucky five! You have earned a super rare treasure box]
"It speaks now?"
The message rang aloud in his mind, but not in the migraine causing way of the first messages, but more like he had heard a radio voice through a set of headphones.
[Do you want to open this treasure box?]
"No? And have you torment me with unread messages? I think not. Yes, open the treasure box."
[Congratulations! You have received a special item! Water fountain of Elaxis!]
