Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Sun God?

Listening to the intermittent narrative of the big girl named Gölz, which was filled with pain and fear, Charlotte Linlin gradually pieced together the sequence of events.

About two years ago, while still in the Giant Kingdom of Elbaf, Gölz was invited by a respected nun—Carmelo—to attend a banquet at the convent she ran.

This nun, Carmelo, was regarded as a benefactor by the Giant Race because she had once saved the Giant Warrior Pirates. She was allowed to live in Elbaf and establish a convent, where she adopted many children from different races.

Gölz, who naturally loved excitement, often went there to play. She was very fond of those unique little companions and loved making clothes for them even more.

After receiving the invitation, Gölz went there with great joy. However, upon arrival, she found that the usually lively convent had become exceptionally quiet, and all her familiar little companions from before had vanished.

Subsequently, full of doubt, she was taken by Carmelo to have a sumptuous lunch, after which she lost consciousness.

When she regained consciousness, she discovered to her horror that she had lost control over her body.

Even more terrifyingly, she was clutching a sharp sword in her hand, its blade piercing deep into the chest of her most beloved Grandpa Yoruru!

And her mouth, beyond her control, was using her voice to speak cold and malicious words:

"Damn that Yoruru! The fusion was almost completely finished! To think it was actually ruined by a guy like you!"

Afterward, she could only watch helplessly as "she" and a short pirate named Long Bread fled Elbaf together.

During the following two years of prisoner-like existence, she gradually understood the truth.

She had been deceived by that hypocritical nun, Carmelo! The giants of all Elbaf had been blinded by this woman! She was a lackey sent by the World Government!

One of her purposes for coming to Elbaf was to find a powerful body suitable for her soul to inhabit.

And the Giant Race not only possessed physical qualities far exceeding normal humans but also had a long lifespan nearly three times that of a human, making them her primary target, and she became Carmelo's prey.

"Mm, I roughly understand the situation now."

Charlotte Linlin rubbed her chin, a thoughtful light flashing in her eyes.

"I didn't expect the Pirate World to actually have a 'possession' plot like those found in cultivation novels. I just wonder how that giant named Yoruru specifically interrupted the fusion process..."

She thought of the phenomenon in the original plot where Charlotte Linlin's mind regressed to that of a little girl after falling into the sea; perhaps there was a similar encounter.

And the reason Gölz could recognize and narrate all this more clearly was likely related to her status as a Giant and her actual age—

Though appearing to be around ten years old, due to her race's triple lifespan, she had actually existed in the world for about thirty years; her mind was far more mature than a true five-year-old child.

"However, do you know why your physical body developed so rapidly? Your soul's form and your physical maturity do not match," Charlotte Linlin questioned.

Gölz's thoughts came through: "It was Carmelo... after'she' used my body to come into contact with a certain person, my body grew into this appearance in an extremely short period of time.

And after that, 'I' even killed that person. It seemed to be to silence them, not wanting more people to notice 'my' abnormality.

I feel that the pirate named Long Bread was intentionally lured here by 'her'; if not for Long Bread's strange ability to produce food, 'I' might have starved to death at sea long ago."

'It should be a Devil Fruit ability,' Charlotte Linlin judged inwardly.

'I wonder what specific fruit it is, and if there's an ability that can reverse or solidify a physical state? If awakened, could it truly achieve immortality in some sense?'

Pulling back her thoughts, she focused her attention on Gölz's bizarre symbiotic soul, her perception in Sky Fox form operating at full capacity to carefully analyze that entangled soul structure.

However, the deeper she perceived, the tighter her brow furrowed.

The situation was extremely tricky.

In her perception, these two souls were not a simple combination or parasitism, but were deeply blended in an extremely bizarre way, their cores almost woven together to form a kind of symbiotic balance.

Forcing the separation of one would very likely lead to the simultaneous collapse and destruction of both souls.

Their current state was more like a single brain being forced to hold two consciousness cores, forming an extreme case of split personality.

With her current level of development of the Spirit Fox Fruit being almost zero, it was fundamentally impossible to complete such a precise'soul surgery'.

'How exactly did that Yoruru interrupt the fusion back then? Was it through a powerful Haki shock? Unfortunately, there's no chance to ask him now...'

"Lord Sun God..."

Gölz keenly sensed Charlotte Linlin's difficulty, and despairing emotions surged once more.

"If you truly have no way... then please kill me! I really don't want to watch 'me' continue to commit sins..."

Feeling the intense death wish and despair emanating from the girl's soul, Charlotte Linlin took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Beautiful things should not Decay like this." Her voice carried an unquestionable firmness.

"I have a way to save you. Since you call me a god, a god should be omnipotent—it's just that I am not the Sun God."
