Chapter 72 - CHAPTER SEVENTY TWO

The Two Who Arrived Last

The heavy wooden door of the meeting room creaked open again, interrupting the thick silence that had settled over the Quinn family discussion.

Every pair of eyes in the room turned toward the entrance.

Two men stepped inside.

They moved with quiet confidence, the kind that came from years of living in dangerous circles where hesitation could cost you your life. Neither of them rushed, and neither looked surprised by the tense atmosphere waiting for them.

Levi leaned back lazily in his chair, one arm hanging over the side as he studied them with a crooked grin.

"Well," he muttered, "look who finally decided to show up."

The taller of the two men closed the door behind them without responding to the comment. His sharp eyes swept across the room quickly, reading the tension like it was written plainly on the walls.

"Sorry we're late," he said calmly.

Alexander stood at the head of the long table, his expression as controlled and unreadable as ever. He didn't ask where they had been, and he didn't waste time on pleasantries.

"Sit."

The two men obeyed, pulling out chairs at the far end of the table.

Kiel, who had been leaning forward with his elbows resting on the polished surface, watched them carefully.

"You heard what we've been discussing?" he asked.

The second man, quieter but just as observant, folded his hands together on the table.

"Enough to understand the situation," he replied.

Ezekiel tilted his head slightly as he studied them both. He had always been good at reading people, and right now he was carefully observing every small reaction, every movement.

"And?" Ezekiel asked.

The room waited.

The tall man leaned forward slightly, resting his forearms against the table.

"If the police are already investigating your shipping routes," he said slowly, "then this didn't happen by accident."

The words settled heavily in the room.

Levi let out a low whistle.

"Well, that's something."

Hannah, who had been standing quietly against the wall, crossed her arms.

"So, you're saying someone intentionally leaked information?"

The man nodded once.

"Most likely."

For a moment, no one spoke.

The idea itself wasn't surprising betrayal was a common risk in the world they lived in. But hearing it said out loud still carried a certain weight.

Alexander's fingers tapped once against the table.

A small, quiet sound.

But in that room, it might as well have been thunder.

"We are not accusing anyone," he said calmly.

His voice was steady, but it carried an unmistakable authority that immediately pulled everyone's attention back to him.

"Not yet."

Levi rubbed his face slowly before glancing around the table.

"Just saying," he muttered, "this conversation feels like the beginning of a really bad long drama."

Kiel shot him a sharp look.

"This isn't a joke."

Levi sighed.

"I know."

The quieter of the two mysterious men spoke next.

"If the police are already this close," he said, "then whoever talked must believe they're protected."

Ezekiel raised an eyebrow.

"Protected how?"

The man shrugged slightly.

"Maybe they think they can disappear before we notice."

Levi chuckled dryly.

"That's adorable."

Hannah pushed herself away from the wall and slowly walked toward the table.

"No one disappears from the Quinn family," she said quietly.

Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chilling certainty.

Everyone in that room knew she was right.

Ezekiel leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger thoughtfully against the armrest.

"You know what's interesting?" he said.

No one answered, but they were all listening.

"If someone is betraying the Quinn family, which would immediateky affect The Silent Dons" Ezekiel continued, "then they must either be extremely desperate… or extremely stupid."

Levi tilted his head.

"Or both."

Alexander finally moved away from the head of the table and began walking slowly along its length.

His presence alone seemed to pull the air tighter in the room.

"This isn't about assumptions," he said calmly.

He stopped beside the window, looking out at the dark city beyond the glass.

"This is about patience."

Kiel nodded slightly.

"We watch."

"Yes," Alexander replied.

"And we wait."

Levi leaned forward.

"And when we find them?"

Alexander didn't turn around.

But his answer came immediately.

"They won't get a second chance."

The room fell silent again.

Because everyone there understood exactly what that meant.

In the Quinn family's world, betrayal didn't end with forgiveness.

It ended with blood.

And somewhere, someone had just signed their own death sentence.
