Cassius opened Twitter and saw the top three trending topics.

#CassiusJenniferKissPhotos

#TwilightGirlCheatedOn

#TheAncientOnePulled

The photos were blurred but easy to recognize for anyone who knew them. It was definitely Jennifer. And it was definitely him.

The shot from after the Oscars, the one taken in the hotel. He'd suspected paparazzi that night. Now some hacker had gotten hold of it.

There were others too. Selfies with Kristen in Beverly Hills. A shot with Anne Hathaway from Iceland that looked like a crew member leaked it. The most damaging one was him and Kat Dennings in a small bar, the look between them way too obvious.

The comments were already exploding.

"Holy shit, Cassius really gets around?"

"Kristen's still filming in Iceland and he's already getting caught?"

"So he and Jennifer actually hooked up? I knew something was off at the Oscars."

"A actor treating Hollywood like his personal harem?"

"I just finished watching The Ancient One and now this? Complicated feelings."

"@KristenStewart, sis, run while you can."

Cassius got out of bed and walked barefoot into the living room. He opened his laptop just as Rob's call came through, voice hoarse like he hadn't slept.

"You saw it?"

"Just now," Cassius said, sitting down and tapping the keyboard. "How did the photos even get out?"

"Second wave from the hackers. They didn't just have the actresses' private shots. They had party pics, backstage stuff, private gatherings too."

"What's the situation?"

"The Ancient One got pulled from AMC and Regal overnight," Rob said heavily. "The chains sent notices saying they're removing it to avoid controversy affecting other audiences. Other theaters are following. Streaming platforms haven't moved yet, but they won't last long."

Cassius stayed quiet. A billion-dollar movie yanked just like that.

"Marvel's in emergency meetings about what to do with you," Rob continued. "Some people are pushing to freeze all your future projects, including any Ancient One sequels or cameos. This isn't like the box office faking. This is personal conduct. It involves multiple A-list actresses. The damage is bad."

"Bro, our luck is actually cursed right now."

Cassius kept his voice steady. "It's fine. We've made enough money. Don't stress."

Rob's voice cracked a little. "You don't get it. Jennifer's team is losing their minds. She was already getting hammered from the first leak, and now your photos are dragging her name through the mud again."

Cassius glanced at his phone. Jennifer had texted: "I'm sorry. I dragged you into this."

She thought her leak had pulled his into the open. She wasn't worried about his other relationships as long as she still mattered to him. But now that everything was public, she figured their thing might be over.

There was also a message from Kristen: "Blizzard. Flight delayed. I'll be there tomorrow." Followed by a crying emoji.

"What about Kristen?" Rob asked. "Have you talked to her?"

"She's probably seeing the news right now," Cassius said.

"Then good luck," Rob sighed. "I have to jump into meetings. I'll update you. In the meantime, don't post anything. Don't talk to any press. Just stay quiet."

The call ended.

Cassius sat in the dark living room with only the laptop screen glowing. He opened his email. Dozens of interview requests from CNN, TMZ, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter. All asking for comment on the leak.

He didn't reply.

The Ancient One project had been sitting at S-tier. Box office had just crossed a billion. Now everything felt stalled.

He sighed. Bad timing for the movie.

If they'd released it earlier and he'd pushed harder on marketing, they probably could've hit thirteen billion easy. The momentum was still there.

Around 4:30 a.m., he was still on the couch in his old T-shirt and sweats when he heard the front door unlock.

Kristen stood in the entryway with a small suitcase. No makeup, hair messy from the long flight, face tired.

"I took a cab," she said first, voice calm. "Too many paparazzi at the airport. The car the assistant sent couldn't even get out."

She left the suitcase by the wall, shrugged off her down jacket, and tossed it on a chair. Underneath was a wrinkled hoodie and jeans.

Cassius stood up. "You hungry? I can make you something."

"I'm not," Kristen said. She walked to the single chair across from him and sat down, looking straight at him. "Let's talk first."

Only one floor lamp was on. The room stayed dim.

They sat with a coffee table between them, his phone, tablet, and laptop scattered across it.

"I saw the photos," she said. "Jennifer. Anne. Kat. Oh, and that Iceland crew shot. That one actually looked kind of nice."

Her tone was flat, but Cassius could feel the weight behind it.

He opened his mouth, then closed it. No matter what Kristen's reputation had been in another life, in this one she hadn't done anything wrong to him. That made it hard to defend himself.

"Kristen—"

"Just answer one thing," she cut in, elbows on her knees. "Were all these relationships happening at the same time?"

Cassius stayed silent.

Kristen looked at him, then gave a short, tired laugh that sounded more like a sigh.

"I get it," she said. She leaned back and stared at the ceiling. "You know, on the plane I kept reading the comments. Some people said a actor had no business pulling so many Hollywood actresses. Some called me stupid. Some went after Jennifer for being messy. But what I kept thinking was… I never really asked you about any of this before."

"I figured in this industry everyone has a past. Getting too hung up on it just makes things impossible. I had exes too. You knew that."

She paused. "But when I actually saw the photos, it still hurt."

Cassius tried to speak again, but she held up a hand.

"Let's take a break," she said. "I need space to think about this. And you need to deal with the mess you're in right now."

She stood up and walked to the window, back to him. "The Ancient One got pulled. Marvel's talking about shelving you. Jennifer's already under fire from the first leak, and now your photos are making it worse for her. If you actually care, you should focus on helping her put that fire out first."

Cassius stayed on the couch, throat tight.

"Where are you staying tonight?" he asked.

"My place," Kristen said. She turned around, expression already back to neutral. "I'll post a statement in the morning."

"What kind of statement?"

"That you're a good person. That we're fine. That the photos were stolen and this whole thing is a crime. That I support Jennifer and every other victim. And that people should stop spreading this shit because it's low."

She gave him a tired half-smile. "What else would I say? That you're a cheating asshole and let the whole industry laugh at us?"

Cassius got up. "Kristen, I—"

"Don't say you're sorry. Honestly, when it comes to how you treated me, you didn't do anything wrong." She shook her head. "I don't know how things started with the others, but I know I was always the most important one to you."

"Right now the priority is damage control. For you, for me, for Jennifer, and for everyone else who got dragged into this."

She put her jacket back on, zipped it up, and picked up her suitcase at the door.

Before she left, she looked back at him one more time. "You're a good actor, Cassius. And you're a good person."

The door clicked shut behind her.

Cassius stood there listening to the elevator and then the sound of her car driving away.

The living room went quiet again.

At 7 a.m., Kristen's statement went up on Twitter and Instagram.

"My relationship with Cassius is solid. The stolen photos are a violation of our privacy. Hacking is a crime and shouldn't be turned into entertainment. I stand with @JenniferLawrence and every other victim. Please stop spreading and consuming these images. It's low."

She attached an old photo of the two of them in matching hoodies making faces at the camera.

Around the same time, Jennifer posted her own video statement. No PR script. Just her, no makeup, in a plain white T-shirt, sitting on her couch.

She looked straight into the camera. "First of all, this isn't a scandal. This isn't gossip. This is an attack."

"Someone illegally accessed my phone, my computer, and my cloud accounts and stole private photos and videos I took in my own space. Then they spread them. This has nothing to do with what I wear, what I do, or who I'm with. This is a crime."

"I have the right to take photos in my bedroom, my bathroom, or a hotel room. I have the right to a private life without being humiliated. Everyone who shares, reposts, or comments on these images is participating in that crime."

"I will never apologize for being violated. I will go after every hacker and every platform that spread this until they pay for it."

"Lastly, about Cassius…" She paused. "He's a friend. The Oscar night photo was taken by paparazzi. That was our private moment. I don't have to explain my personal life to anyone, just like you don't have to explain yours to me."

"Women aren't objects. We're not content. We're people."

The video hit a million retweets in ten minutes.

The conversation started splitting. Some people rallied behind #StandWithJennifer and called out the crime. Others kept attacking, saying she shouldn't have taken the photos in the first place or that Cassius was playing the field.

Anne Hathaway tweeted in support: "During filming in Iceland, Cassius was professional and reliable. That so-called intimate photo was a misframed work shot. Sexualizing normal interactions between women and men on set is an old industry problem. I stand with Jennifer and every woman taking back the narrative."

Kat Dennings was more direct: "Cassius and I had drinks and talked. He's a good friend. That's it. Also, reminder: it's 2014. A woman can have a drink with a man without being labeled easy."

Dakota Fanning reposted Jennifer's video with "Well said. We're done with this."

More actresses spoke up. But the attacks on Cassius only got louder. Old rumors from China started circulating again. People started trending #BoycottCassius.

By 10 a.m., Marvel posted a short statement: "We are closely monitoring the situation. Privacy violations are serious crimes. We support all victims. Regarding Mr. Cassius's future projects, decisions will be made based on ongoing investigations and legal developments."

The phrasing made it clear they were waiting to see if he survived this.

Cassius's phone wouldn't stop buzzing. He ignored most of it until Rob texted: "Bro, call me back. Jennifer's lawyers want to talk to you."

When he called, Rob got straight to it. "Jennifer's suing the hackers and the main platforms spreading the photos. Her legal team is top-tier. They want to bring all the victims together for a joint lawsuit. You're a key witness. They need your statement and authorization."

"What should I do?"

"Cooperate with the FBI. Your devices might have been hit too. You might need to go public about how this affected you. Jennifer's team is moving fast."

Cassius was quiet for a second. "What's Marvel saying?"

"Kevin's fighting for you, but the board is split," Rob said. "Some see you as a victim and want to protect you. Others think your personal life is hurting the brand. It depends on how the public reacts and how the lawsuits play out."

Later that night, the hacker group posted again on the dark web. This time they were even bolder.

"Hollywood's hypocrites. We don't care about your laws. This is just the beginning. Next we're dropping tax evasion records, contract fraud, drug-fueled parties…"

They added a 72-hour countdown.

Someone in the comments asked why they were targeting Cassius specifically.

The reply came back: "Because his boss's rival wouldn't pay up. And we think Hollywood needs a full reset."
