THE DIGITAL EXECUTION
The senior lounge at St. Jude's Academy was a shark tank, and today, Sofia was the bait. As she stepped through the double glass doors, the atmosphere shifted from idle chatter to a sharp, jagged silence. Chloe sat at the center table, surrounded by a crowd of onlookers, her phone held up like a weapon.
"Oh, look," Chloe announced, her voice dripping with artificial pity. "The 'it' girl has arrived with her favorite 'it' item. Tell us, Sofia, does the maid come with a warranty, or is she non-refundable now that she's been in your bed?"
A wave of cruel laughter rippled through the room. Sofia stopped dead, her face burning. The "scandal" photo of them in her bedroom the one Chloe had sneakily taken through the window was being projected onto several laptop screens around the room.
"Chloe, stop it," Sofia whispered, her voice trembling. "She was sick. I was just…"
"Just what? Paying for her affection?" Chloe sneered, standing up. "We all know the truth. You're so pathetic and unlovable that you had to hire a girlfriend. You're nothing but a walking bank account, Sofia. Even the help only sticks around for the paycheck."
Sofia's eyes filled with hot, stinging tears. She felt the world closing in, her social standing evaporating in a cloud of mockery until a cold, steady hand landed on her shoulder. kei stepped forward, her expression so devoid of emotion it was terrifying.
THE COUNTER-STRIKE
"It's fascinating, Chloe," kei said, her voice cutting through the laughter like a blade. "How much you talk about 'paychecks' when you haven't paid for a single meal, outfit, or ride in three years."
"Shut up, maid!" Chloe snapped. "Nobody asked for your opinion."
"I'm not giving an opinion. I'm giving a presentation," kei replied calmly. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone.
What Chloe didn't know was that while Sofia was busy crying over lost friendships, her mother, Elena, had been working quietly in the background. Elena wasn't just a socialite; she was a woman who protected her own. She had seen the way these girls treated her daughter, and she had provided kei with the digital ammunition needed to end this once and for all.
kei tapped her screen, and the large media monitor in the lounge flickered to life. A massive screenshot of a group chat titled "The ATM (Sofia)"appeared on the screen for the entire school to see.
The room went deathly silent as the messages scrolled by:
Chloe: "Ugh, Sofia is being such a brat today. I only stayed because she promised to buy us those designer heels. Just smile and nod until she swipes the card."
Mia: "Seriously, her personality is a biohazard. I'd rather be anywhere else, but hey, free VIP concert tickets, right? HAHA"
Sylvia: "I'm just here for the pool and the snacks. As soon as the inheritance hits, let's see if we can trick her into buying that beach house for 'us' to use."
Chloe: "Exactly. She's too stupid to realize we actually hate her. She's just a lonely girl with a big house and a dead-end life."
THE HUMILIATION
The gasps in the room were audible. Chloe's face went from smug to a ghostly, sickly white. She looked at the screen, then at the shocked faces of her peers, then back at kei.
"That…..that's fake! She hacked it! She's lying!" Chloe screamed, her voice hitting a desperate, high-pitched note.
"It's not fake, Chloe," kei said, her voice dropping to a low, chilling tone. "These are the real logs. Every word, every insult, every plan to bleed Sofia dry. Miss Elena and I have been keeping a very close eye on what goes on in Sofia's life. A mother knows when her daughter is surrounded by vipers, and she doesn't take kindly to people using her daughter as a bank."
kei stepped closer to Chloe, who was now backed against a table, trembling.
"You called Sofia unlovable," kei said, her dark eyes flashing with a rare, protective heat. "But you're the one who has to lie every single day just to have a seat at a table. You're the one who's so hollow that you'd trade a human being for a pair of shoes. Sofia might be spoiled, but she is real. You? You're just a cheap imitation of a friend."
The crowd turned their cameras on Chloe. The whispers had changed.
"That's so messed up."
"Did they really call her an ATM?"
"Look at Chloe's face, she's shaking."
THE NEW ORDER
Sofia looked at the screen, the words of her "friends" stinging her heart, but the weight was different now. She wasn't alone. She had her mother Elena's silent, powerful support and kei's immovable strength. She looked at Chloe and realized how small and pathetic the girl actually was.
"Friendship over," Sofia said, her voice clear, cold, and final. "And by the way, Chloe? I want the Chanel bag and the jewelry back by tomorrow. Or my mother sends the rest of these logs to your parents and the school board."
Chloe let out a strangled sob, grabbed her bag, and bolted out of the lounge, with Mia and Sylvia scurrying after her like rats leaving a sinking ship.
Sofia turned to kei, who was already putting her phone away, her "deadpan" mask firmly back in place.
"I can't believe Mom actually did that," Sofia whispered, feeling a sudden surge of warmth and gratitude for her mother.
"Your mother is very efficient when it comes to your happiness, Sofia," kei replied, a soft, genuine look crossing her face. "Are you okay?"
Sofia wiped the last of her tears and smiled a real, bright smile. "I'm better than okay. Let's get out of here. I think I've had enough of school for today."
"As you wish, Sofia," kei murmured, and they walked out of the lounge together, leaving the whispers and the fake friends in the dust.
