THE ANCHORING
The bedroom door clicked shut, the sound echoing like a final seal on a decade of distance. The room was bathed in the soft, bruised purple of the midnight sky, but the atmosphere inside was white-hot.
Fay stood by the edge of the bed, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs. The image of Kei on the phone, slurring Nina's name and begging for a ride, was still playing on a loop in her mind. It was a jagged, ugly spark that ignited a fire Fay could no longer contain.
Kei stood before her, disheveled and swaying slightly, looking like a broken empire. "Fay… I just wanted to go home. I didn't think..."
"You didn't think?" Fay interrupted, her voice a low, dangerous vibration.
Fay didn't wait for an answer. The ten years of restraint, the pride and the agonizing jealousy over the "Beautiful Ghost" and Nina finally snapped. Fay made the move. She stepped into Kei's space, her hands grabbing Kei's expensive shirt and shoving her back until Kei's legs hit the edge of the mattress.
Fay climbed over her, her movements predatory and certain, pinning Kei to the pillows. She wanted Kei to feel the weight of her presence, to know exactly who was in control.
"You called Nina," Fay hissed, her face inches from Kei's. "You reached for someone else because you were scared of me? Look at me, Kei. Look at what you're doing to me."
The air in the room grew thick and heavy as Fay's hands wandered, claiming every inch of skin she had been denied for a decade.
"Ha… ha… ha…"
The sound of their heavy breathing filled the silence, a rhythmic, synchronized panting. Fay was relentless, her jealousy manifesting as a desperate, territorial hunger. She wasn't the "cold doctor" anymore, she was a woman reclaiming her territory.
"Ahh… ahh… ahhh…"
A soft, broken sound of enjoyment escaped Kei's lips as she surrendered completely. She lay beneath Fay, her eyes glazed with a mixture of shock and overwhelming love. She had spent weeks trying to win Fay back with food and subtle gestures, but this this raw, unfiltered passion from Fay was the only answer she ever truly wanted.
Fay moved with a slow, agonizingly beautiful intensity, her lips marking Kei's skin as if to erase every moment they were apart.
"Ha… ha… ha…"
The panting grew more frantic as the decade of tension finally broke. Fay's fingers tangled in Kei's dark hair, anchoring her to the bed. She wanted Kei to understand that there was no "sunflower guy," no "assistant," and no world outside this room that mattered.
"Ahh… ahh… ahhh…"
Kei arched her back, her hands gripping Fay's waist, pulling her closer as the world outside the hospital, the boardrooms and the lies vanished. In the heat of the moment, Fay's jealousy had transformed into the ultimate bridge back to one another.
THE AFTERGLOW
Silence eventually reclaimed the room, broken only by the fading sound of their synchronized heartbeats. Fay collapsed onto Kei's chest, her forehead resting against the crook of Kei's neck. The fire had burned out, leaving behind a profound, heavy peace.
Kei's arms wrapped around Fay, holding her with a strength that said she was never letting go again.
"I'm sorry," Kei whispered into the quiet, her voice thick with emotion. "I'm sorry I made you feel like you had to fight for me. I've always been yours."
Fay didn't look up, but she tightened her grip on Kei's shirt. "Don't ever call Nina again," she murmured against Kei's skin.
"Never," Kei promised.
