Chapter 1 - Unnamed

The love story of Dhola and Maru is an immortal folk tale of Rajasthan, a tale of childhood marriage, long separation and then reunion; where Prince Dhola of Narwar and Princess Maru of Poongal are married in childhood, but as they grow up, Dhola marries another woman, and years later, through Maru's separation and folk songs, Dhola remembers his first wife, after which, after battling many obstacles and villains, Dhola meets Maru, and they finally return to Narwar and live happily, depicting the triumph of love.

Synopsis of the story:

Childhood Marriage: Prince Dhola (Salhkumar) of Narwar and Princess Maru (Marwani) of Poongal (Bikaner) are married in childhood, when Dhola was three years old and Maru was one and a half years old, but there is no farewell.

Forgetfulness and second marriage: As time passes, Dhola forgets his first marriage and marries Malvani for the second time.

Waiting for Maru: Maru yearns for Dhola's love, but her co-wife Malvani doesn't let any message reach Dhola.

Message through songs: Maru's father sends a clever singer (Dhola) to Narwar, who through songs reminds Dhola of Maru's separation and his love.

Dhola's Departure: Hearing the song, Dhola remembers everything and, anxious to meet Maru, rides on his swift camel and sets out for Poongal.

Obstacles and Triumph of Love: There are obstacles like the villain Umar Sumar on the way and Dhola faces many troubles, but he meets Maru and returns to Narwar.

Reunion: Finally, Dhola and Maru meet and Malvani accepts them, and the saga becomes a symbol of love and loyalty.

Importance:

This story is an integral part of Rajasthani folk songs (like 'Kesariya Balam') and folk tales.

This establishes the word 'Dhola' as a synonym for husband and is an ideal for lovers even today.
