The silence stretched on for what felt like an eternity.
Gareth stared at Damian with an expression that was impossible to read – some complex mixture of anger, grudging respect, and something that might have been concern.
Finally, he spoke.
"You're done, Damian Valcor."
His voice was cold, final, carrying the weight of absolute authority.
"Hand over your Disciplinary Committee badge and your Aura Jamming device. Right now."
The crowd erupted in shocked murmurs again.
Gareth raised his hand, and silence fell immediately.
"You are hereby temporarily suspended from the Student Council pending a full investigation by the professors and administration.
This matter has clearly spiraled completely out of control, and it's beyond our authority to handle internally anymore."
He held out his hand expectantly, palm up.
"Your badge and device. Now."
Damian didn't move immediately.
