After the White Queen finished handling her work and returned to the residence, Chen Chen truly gave her a fierce "lesson."
Yet no matter how much she was overwhelmed by his relentless affection, she refused to reveal even the slightest bit of information. She only kept saying things like, "You'll know when the time comes," or "I'll tell you once I've finished preparing," and similar remarks.
This left Chen Chen extremely irritated, and the battlefield inevitably spread from the bedroom to the living room, the kitchen, and even the bathroom.
At four in the morning, Chen Chen and the White Queen were lying on a large, soft bed. Suddenly, Chen Chen's eyes snapped open. He got out of bed and said in a deep voice,
"Something is approaching this place."
He quickly walked to the window and looked outside. A streak of fire cut through the early morning sky.
Then came another.
And another.
Dozens of rockets were being fired madly toward the villa.
A trace of coldness flashed through Chen Chen's eyes.
"Why do people always disturb me when I'm resting?"
Watching the incoming rockets, his figure flashed and appeared outside the villa. Stretching out his right hand toward the dozens of rockets, he clenched his fist fiercely in midair. A burst of air exploded in his palm.
Under the effect of Chen Chen's immense power, the surrounding air instantly roared. A white shockwave blasted forward and slammed directly into the leading rockets.
Boom!
The rockets detonated from the shockwave. The explosion roared deafeningly, and flames and smoke nearly swallowed Chen Chen.
"Try the Kamehameha I just learned!"
Chen Chen clasped his hands together and placed them at his waist. The energy within his body gathered between his palms. The powerful force condensed into a glowing sphere the size of a wagon wheel. Terrifying energy fluctuations surged around it, and a level-six gale suddenly swept through the surrounding area.
Looking at the glowing sphere in his hands, Chen Chen revealed a satisfied smile.
With a gentle push of his palms, the Kamehameha shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, flying toward the sky.
Boom!
With a tremendous explosion, the sphere detonated midair. Once it lost Chen Chen's control, the compressed energy instantly dispersed outward. The energy and heat caused the surrounding air to expand rapidly, and waves of rippling shock spread in all directions.
The dozens of rockets that flew into the rippling airwaves were immediately crushed by the violent currents of air, exploding one after another.
Dozens of fiery bursts lit up the sky.
But that was far from the end.
Through the flames, Chen Chen saw that near the villa there were at least a hundred fully armed soldiers. They wore the latest bulletproof powered armor and carried numerous firearms. Beneath their sturdy helmets, night-vision displays and gas masks made them look almost like machines.
More than a hundred soldiers advanced with steady and ruthless steps, spreading out as they moved. Their guns were aimed directly at Chen Chen as they opened fire. Some threw grenades, others launched rockets.
The battle was about to erupt.
At the same time, a figure took advantage of Chen Chen being occupied with the battle outside and quietly infiltrated the villa.
But suddenly the lights turned on, revealing the intruder's appearance.
"And who are you?"
Already dressed, the White Queen looked coldly at the mysterious man.
The intruder was a tall, powerfully built man wearing black camouflage clothing. His face was covered by a mask, and beneath his long hair a pair of cold eyes could be seen. In his right hand he held a pistol, in his left a metal dagger, and a grenade launcher was slung across his back.
What stood out most was that his left arm was made entirely of metal.
When the White Queen discovered him, the masked man said nothing. With a sudden movement of his feet, he rushed toward her with incredible speed.
The White Queen frowned. Just as she was about to use her telepathic powers, she was startled to discover that her brainwaves could not penetrate the man's mind.
"A psychic shielding device!"
The thought had barely flashed through her mind when the masked man had already reached her. Raising the dagger in his left hand, he stabbed fiercely toward her heart.
"Foolish."
A trace of ridicule flashed through the White Queen's eyes. Her body instantly turned crystal clear as she swung her fist forward.
Diamond Form!
Clang!
The dagger struck her arm, producing a shower of sparks. Just as the White Queen was about to summon diamond blades for a counterattack, she suddenly noticed a dark, round object drop at her feet, while the masked man leaped backward violently.
The White Queen glanced at the round object below her and her expression changed slightly.
"A high-explosive grenade?!"
She only had time to fire four diamond blades toward the masked man.
Boom!
Amid the thunderous explosion of the grenade, the White Queen was blasted away. She smashed through the window behind her and crashed onto the ground outside.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The four gleaming diamond blades were casually deflected by the masked man with his dagger. He rushed to the window, manually switching his pistol to several unusually thick bullets. Aiming the futuristic-looking handgun at the fallen White Queen below, he fired continuously.
A faint smile curled at the corner of the man's mouth.
These were specially made armor-piercing rounds. At such a close distance, they could penetrate even the frontal armor of a tank. Even if that diamond woman below didn't die, her body would certainly shatter into pieces.
However, at that critical moment, a figure suddenly appeared in front of the White Queen, blocking all the bullets.
"Chen Chen…"
Looking at the familiar back before her, the White Queen murmured softly. The overwhelming sense of security made her feel that as long as this figure stood there, even the end of the world would not threaten her.
Women admired strength—especially powerful men capable of protecting them.
Inside her mind, Hela clicked her tongue and shook her head.
Meanwhile, in sharp contrast to the White Queen's sense of security, the Winter Soldier suddenly retreated several steps, putting distance between himself and Chen Chen.
From this man who had appeared out of nowhere, he felt an unprecedented sense of danger.
Unlike the reassured White Queen, the masked warrior stepped back seven or eight meters away from Chen Chen.
Chen Chen studied the masked man before him and asked uncertainly,
"The Winter Soldier?"
The Winter Soldier's eyes remained cold, but the tension in his body revealed that he was far less calm than he appeared. Years of surviving on the edge of death had sharpened his instincts.
The man before him felt like a monster wearing human skin. A primal fear stimulated every cell in his body.
The Winter Soldier spoke for the first time.
"There are more than a hundred elite soldiers outside. How could you possibly appear here?"
According to the original plan, those Hydra soldiers were supposed to hold Chen Chen back while the Winter Soldier infiltrated the villa to search for the so-called god. Yet it had only been a short time, and Chen Chen had already returned.
"Elite soldiers?"
Chen Chen revealed a dangerous smile, his eyes filled with devilish mockery.
"You mean those toys?"
"The quality of those toys was pretty poor. I already dismantled them all."
"That's impossible!"
