Chapter 11 - A brothers duty

As Sammy sat opposite to Kensei holding the books tightly he opened his mouth for a second to say with a bit of a serious tone. "Let's go."

Kensei became like a motor and launched themselves towards Korea like a missile.

It wouldn't take long for them to reach Korea, maybe a day or two.

As the splashing of water faded into the background Sammy sighed with a slight nervous look and a hint of sweat on his face, he then proceeded to ask

"Do you know what it's like to be a brother?"

"I don't." Kensei said with no stopping of paddling.

"I know that, but have you ever thought about what it would be like to be a brother. Probably not." There was silence and Kensei didn't seem to get bothered by the question.

"Well did you know that you were a brother." It was not a question because Sammy knew the answer.

"No." Kensei said, as expected.

"Well how do you think your brother and sister are doing?"

"Ah, a brother and a sister. That's nice, and I believe they must be fine since they have the same powers as me but then again I've read from stories that people who aren't the same or alike don't get along, so as long as they are far from people I'm sure they are doing pretty good."

"They're suffering." Sammy said with no hesitation right after Kensei spoke.

"I see." It didn't really matter to Kensei as he didn't have much emotion which is to be expected .

"It makes sense after all you don't have any memories of what you were like or what human life is like." With that said

Kensei asked in a tone that wasn't happy neither sad but only curious.

"What was my life like? Was I a good person?"

"Your life was pretty average. The apocalypse started when you were 20. You were a pretty good brother while you stayed with your family until you went to college. You were average."

"I see." He said with a hint of happiness.

"But you said that my brother and sister are suffering." His tone and thoughts became unreadable.

"Yes, you have a voice in your head that constantly tells you to feed on human blood and to kill eveything." Sammy said with utmost calmness in his eyes.

For a second Kensei stopped paddling

"Yes, it's quite tiring and I've been trying not to sleep which succeeded as I don't really require sleep. I thought that if I were to sleep that I would lose control." That was quite a stupid statement because even he needs to sleep at least one time a year and due to him not sleeping he had lost control in the original story although he did gain it back after 24 hours.

"I know." That statement alone made Kensei a person who wasn't afraid to kill the horrid looking humans, be afraid.

'Just how much does mr.prophet know? Who is he? No, what is he? Wait he said it himself he is a prophet that knows certain things and i have already pledged my loyalty with him. If he says to kill every single person on this planet I will after all that is loyalty' ... I have no words... no words... seems like Sammy has striked a biological weapon.

"That same voice also applies to your brother and sister, they are both under the control of the voice and are practically dead since they have lost control and no matter how hard you try they won't come back. You will have to kill them. Are you fine with it?"

"Yes." Sammy knew that this would be the answer yet still he was quite depressed by the fact that Kensei would be killing his own sister and brother.

'I'll find a way to save them. Can I?'

After that chat both went silent, Kensei started rowing again. This time Sammy didn't feel the usual awkwardness; he felt the pressure of the upcoming events and immense dissatisfaction.

After rowing for half a day it became night time. The evening star gleamed menacingly.

Sammy looked at Kensei. "Do you think you can keep rowing till we reach Korea?"

"Will I lose controll?" He asked as he was actually concerned. Seeing this Sammy smiled and said "you won't." He only said two words yet those two words seemed like the most happiest words that have been said in this entire apocalypse.

Sammy then started sleeping. Even though he was a zombie who could stay awake and work as long as Kensei did, he would still get the feeling of tiredness.

Sammy then spoke a little. "Make sure you're going to Korea." He said before closing his eyes, he slept so fast after closing his eyes that he didn't even hear Kensei's response.

'It's strange I usually don't sleep this fast. What's going on? Why am i hearing voices' true, he doesn't sleep this fast. Wait! What!? He's hearing things... but he shouldn't be hearing the voice afterall... wait he got the stats of the majority creature but without its debuff. Haha is the voice not considered a debuff? It makes sense.

It should be neutral then and there's no rules against that.

'What? Wait! Am i hearing the same voice that Kensei's hearing! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Wait, they sound different, the voices are not telling me to kill wait voices?'

There were two voices in Sammy's dream one was saying.

"Save me!" "Save me!"

While the other one was saying.

"Don't save him!" Don't save him!"

The two voices shifted in Sammy's head, both of them kept repeating, the words twisting in his head while he could also hear something else, some quiet murmurs of a lady although he couldn't really hear her but the other two voices kept repeating.

The one that said save me was quiet and seemed desperate while the one that said don't save him was harsh and quite furious.

Sammy couldn't really see anything as it was absolute darkness. The only thing he could see was his pale skin and clothes.

But then he woke up from his slumber but,

the moment he did all he saw was Kensei getting strangled,

the boat upside down,

a weird looking creature that was strangling Kensei

and all of that while getting flinged by a zombie whale in the air,

while there was a tornado approaching in the middle of a storm.
