He took a step closer, his boots crunching on the pulverized remains of a high-tier entity. He leaned down slightly, his mask's vision burning with a terrifying, golden intensity that seemed to pierce right through Mordecai's exhausted soul.
"Where's that bravado now, huh?" Rex sneered, a cruel, mocking grin pulling at his lips. "Where's that big, brave talk from an hour ago?"
"You said that you wanted to stop becoming a fucking bum and showed me the real Demon Lord, but that was all bullshit..." Rex laughed. "Even though I respected that you sounded so fucking impressive when you were sitting in the back, safe and sound, dreaming up grand strategies!"
Rex let out a sharp, condescending bark of laughter. "But the moment the sky actually opened up, the moment the real weight hit the scale, you folded like a cheap suit!"
"You threw your summons out like a child throwing tantrums, wasting every bit of energy or even gacha you had on a front line that was already drowning!"
