'So that's how it is.'
'No wonder Doctor Strange's portal can cross thousands of light-years. And I can barely get out of the Solar System.'
'Oh, and portals can travel through the Multiverse. Does that mean I can go to Gwen's Universe, Earth-65?'
Lucas asked as soon as the thought came to him, "Sorcerer, how can I use a portal to travel through the Multiverse?"
The Ancient One pondered for a moment before saying, "Your mental power should not extend far, but rather perceive the subtle. The Quantum Realm is the passage through the Multiverse."
Hearing the Ancient One's words, Tony couldn't help but exclaim, "The Quantum Realm? How is physics related to magic?"
The events of today were reshaping his worldview.
"Science is magic, and magic is science."
The Ancient One slowly explained, "Both are methodologies for studying the laws of the objective world, with no essential difference."
"Stark, the power of the mind, the power of the soul, all exist objectively."
Hearing the Ancient One's explanation, Tony started muttering to himself.
He mumbled about materialism and idealism.
Ignoring Tony, Lucas continued to ask, "Sorcerer, what should I do if I want to go to Gwen's original Universe?"
The Ancient One said, "Gwen's original Universe, along with four other Universes, are all entangled with one Universe."
"Passing through a portal can only take you to the Universe at the center of the entanglement. Only by separating these six Universes can you go to the other Universes."
The Ancient One added, "According to the Universe numbering rules, that Universe's number is 1610."
A flash of inspiration struck Lucas's mind.
He remembered an animated movie.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
"Sorcerer, as long as they are separated, will that be enough?"
"Yes." The Ancient One nodded.
"But this event involves the creation of a powerful elder god. As long as there isn't a major disaster, no one is willing to intervene."
Lucas frowned.
He wanted to give Gwen a surprise. Gwen had been busy helping him investigate the Blood God incident.
"Lucas, if you want to get involved, it shouldn't be a problem." The Ancient One suddenly said.
"You and Gwen have a deep relationship, and you are relatively weak."
Lucas: "..."
"Sorcerer, how do you know everything?"
The Ancient One said, "In this event, one of the Universes is numbered 616, and that Universe also has a 'me'. Sometimes, we communicate using a certain magic."
Lucas was puzzled.
Doesn't that require the Darkhold as a casting tool?
Seemingly seeing Lucas's confusion, the Ancient One explained, "Magic is just a way of using energy. As long as it's thoroughly studied, it can be replicated."
The Ancient One's lips curved upwards, showing the same smile she had when she previously instructed Lucas to deal with the Vampire incident.
"Lucas, I can send you and Gwen to Universe 1610. Once you're there, the 'me' of that Universe will keep an eye on you."
"When you resolve this event and want to return, 'I' will send you back."
Lucas felt something was off.
After thinking for a moment, he suddenly understood. "Sorcerer, you want to resolve this matter, but it's inconvenient for you to act, so you're letting me do it?"
The Ancient One smiled and nodded. "This matter has been dragging on for a while. The sooner it's resolved, the better."
Moreover, she could show off her successor to the the Ancient One of another Universe.
Stephen Strange?
Who is that? I don't know him.
"Then I'll go discuss it with Gwen."
After speaking, Lucas opened a portal and appeared at George's doorstep.
He rang the doorbell.
"One moment, I'll be right there." George's voice sounded, and soon, the door opened.
Seeing that George had opened the door, Lucas asked curiously, "George, why aren't you at work?"
George looked at Lucas with a strange expression before speaking, "I took the day off today."
"Took the day off? Aren't you the New York Police Department's model worker?"
"Gwen." George reminded him in a low voice.
After something like this happened, only someone with a very big heart could go to work as usual.
"Oh, by the way, Lucas, why are you at my house?"
George blocked the door, looking at Lucas warily, like a father guarding against a young suitor.
Lucas said faintly, "George, you weren't like this when you used to ask me for case clues."
George gave an awkward smile, stepped aside, and whispered as Lucas passed, "When did you know?"
"The first time I met Gwen."
"What? How did you know?" Gwen's voice sounded from inside the house.
With her hearing, it was impossible for her not to hear.
Lucas explained, "Remember? The first time we met, when you left, you said you were Ghost-Spider."
Gwen was puzzled. "Is there anything special about that? It can't be that my reputation has already spread to this Universe, can it?"
Lucas said meaningfully, "There are many Spider-Women in the Multiverse, but only one Ghost-Spider."
Gwen asked, "What do you mean?"
"Literally."
Before Lucas's transmigration, among the Spider-Man works he knew, there were several Spider-Women, but only one Spider-Gwen.
And Spider-Gwen also had a codename, Ghost-Spider.
"What are you two talking about? Come eat."
Just then, Helen came out and called everyone to dinner.
"Lucas, you're here, come eat with us."
At the dinner table, Lucas noticed that Helen's attitude towards him had changed.
The previous times he came, Helen treated him with the normal attitude of treating a guest. But now, she was as enthusiastic as if she were treating a satisfactory future son-in-law.
What did Gwen tell them last night?
"Gwen, I have something to tell you."
Both the older and younger Gwen looked over at the same time.
The atmosphere grew slightly cold, and little Gwen said to Gwen, "It should be for you, big sister."
Lucas and Gwen went to the rooftop alone.
"I found a way to go back to your Universe."
"Thank you, Lucas. But..."
Gwen's expression was a bit conflicted.
On one hand, she missed her father on Earth-65.
On the other hand, she was reluctant to leave the Stacy family on Earth-404.
Seeing that Gwen seemed to have misunderstood something, Lucas explained, "This method allows you to freely travel between the two Universes."
"If you want to come back, you can do so anytime."
Gwen let out a long sigh of relief. "Oh, I see. Then let's tell George and Helen and leave."
Lucas nodded in agreement. "We should."
...
After listening to Lucas explain the whole story, Helen said happily, "Gwen can go home, that's a good thing. But Gwen, you must visit us often in the future."
George pondered for a moment and said, "Wait a moment, I'll write a letter to the George of the other Universe."
Helen reacted and said, "I'll also write a letter to that George."
Little Gwen also joined in the fun. "Then I'll also write a letter to George."
—
Kamar-Taj.
"Are you ready?"
"Mm."
Lucas and Gwen nodded.
"Then, I wish you a pleasant journey."
The portal opened, and the figures of Lucas and Gwen disappeared into it.
"Sorcerer, I understand! I understand!"
Before the portal closed, Tony's shouts faintly sounded.
