"Mr. Clock?!"
Amidst his blurred consciousness, Charlie Clock seemed to hear someone calling his name repeatedly.
Along with the voice, his body felt like it was being shaken continuously.
In a daze, Charlie Clock finally opened his eyes slowly.
"Mr. Clock, thank goodness! You must have been having a nightmare!"
Charlie Clock's eyes were filled with confusion as he first opened them. His throat felt very dry, and his whole body was uncomfortable, as if moving was a chore.
"Doctor, where is my wife..."
Charlie Clock asked in a raspy voice.
In the ward, several female nurses—who had been startled by the violent fluctuations in Charlie Clock's heart rate and rushed over to check on him—looked at each other in bewilderment.
A nurse with a decent figure and looks immediately asked, "Wife? Mr. Clock, aren't you unmarried?"
"Where is my wife... Doctor, quick, save her..."
Charlie Clock had clearly not yet recovered from the nightmare.
He just kept speaking, asking the nurses gathered around him.
The nurses soon realized from his state that he was certainly confused from a dream.
A 'black pearl' asked with a smile, "Mr. Clock, what is your wife's name? I'll help you check which ward she is in!"
"Lina!"
One nurse saw her colleague daring to tease a client in a VIP ward; although she knew it was just a joke,
if the person took offense later, they would be scolded by the head nurse.
The nurse called Lina, who was the girl referred to as Hei Mei, gave a playful shrug but still hid herself behind her colleague.
Charlie Clock naturally wouldn't blame them, because he hadn't fully woken up from that nightmare yet.
After all, the first half of the nightmare was truly wonderful.
"She... my wife... her name is... Slate Clock..."
Charlie Clock finally spoke the name of the wife in his dream.
The nurses glanced at each other, and two of them suddenly had expressions of realization.
After exchanging a look, those two pulled the other two nurses and walked out while Charlie Clock was still in a daze.
Light-Pons Private Hospital is a fairly famous private hospital in Los Angeles.
Its medical and nursing resources are powerful, so many wealthy people, officials, and celebrities in Los Angeles come here for hospitalization and treatment when injured or ill.
Therefore, Light-Pons Private Hospital also has relatively strict security; entry and exit require registration and identification.
As soon as the nurses left the ward, two of them who had looked after Charlie Clock before immediately burst out laughing.
"The 'wife' Mr. Clock just mentioned couldn't be that blonde beauty who visited him before, could it? I remember her name was Slater!" one nurse laughed first.
Another nurse had a very good memory: "It's definitely her. But her last name is Brief. I happened to be on duty when she came last time; I remember looking at her a few extra times and didn't see a ring on her hand. Besides, there must be a dozen years' age gap between her and Mr. Clock."
The nurse Lina's eyes lit up as she got the gossip: "So, Mr. Clock has a crush on that Miss Slater?"
"Definitely. But their relationship probably isn't that good. I've only seen her visit Mr. Clock twice. Have you guys seen her?"
"No!"
"Then it's an unrequited crush for sure. How pitiful."
After the nurses chattered for a while, they soon walked toward the nearby nurse's lounge.
