Reis moved, trying to get down from the bed, but his limbs were numb from lying down.
Warm sunlight filled his room, birds flew around the trees across the balcony. Calm, just like it was the first time he woke up here.
But even then, it wasn't so quiet. So empty. Winter wasn't supposed to be warm.
Reis clawed onto the blanket, unsure whether to throw it away or not. His breathing became shallower with every passing second.

Reis stumbled down while trying to get off the bed.
The door opened with a click, revealing the stunned butler. Reis was momentarily relieved to see him before that vanished under this odd desperation.
