Chapter 2 - Chapter two:A glimpse of hope,A shadow of reality.

Still in my thoughts, thinking of the young and good looking man I encountered hoping and wishing that he was king Argus. I finally got to the grand hall where my father, my mother, brother where seated at the left hand side of the hall, and on the right hand, I saw him. I saw the man I had just met a few moments ago our eyes met, and I quickly averted my gaze. Right beside him, was seated another man who was quite handsome also, but not as handsome as the other. He has more older features, not too muscular with thick eyebrows that fitted his oval face. He looked older, had a normal brown eyes and same color of hair as the other man. Looking dazed, I took my seat right beside my mother, then my father started speaking. "Today, we have gathered here for the marriage that would bring great joy and help to our kingdom. My daughter, princess Josephine would be getting married to the great King Argus of the Siberian Kingdom. This marriage would bring unison to the both kingdoms and also help in protecting this kingdom from threats from other kingdoms". That was what my father always wanted, he only did things that benefitted him and his kingdom not caring about who gets affected or hurt and today he trades me off to a man I do not know and just meeting for the first time in my life. " And now, Josephine I present you to your husband, king Argus". And then my dreams where shattered again the so called King Argus was not the man I encountered earlier but the other man who was seated beside him. I let out a deep sigh, and prepared myself for the hell ahead of me.

I later learned that the man from the stairs, was prince Charles, king Argus younger brother. Known for his striking and elegant features but hasn't seem to take interest in any woman or even marriage. Some say that he has refused to get married because of his chronic love for women and never wishes to settle down, while others say it's because of the way his mother was treated by his father king Raymond wanting to never end up like his father so he went into womanizing instead, having any women when ever he wants. I was with Frances and Elsa the rest of the, until it was finally time for me to leave. Leave my home, leave my family a place I have been all my life, to a place I have never been and I do not know. Knowing that King Argus already had five wives already, I knew that there was no way I was getting a happy ever after kind of marriage I was in for quite some fun which I knew I wasn't going to enjoy.

The journey to the Siberians, was quite a long ride or maybe it's because I have never really been anywhere before. The journey took hours, but we finally arrived. The almighty Siberian kingdom, I was finally here said to be my new home. The castle was twice the size of mine, The outer walls, wide and formidable, wrap around the castle like a protective shell. Watchtowers dot the perimeter at even intervals, giving sentinels full view of the valleys beyond. Between these towers run walkways where guards once patrolled, the stone beneath their feet worn smooth by centuries of duty. Guards came and lined up right in-front of the royal carriage, and the chief guard opened the doors of the carriage for us. The guards, all salute as King Argus descends from the carriage, he majestically walks in totally forgetting that I am his new wife and is suppose to help me out of the carriage. Prince Charles follows suit, but he stretches out his hands offering to help me out. "My lady" he said, I took his hands " thank you, you are so kind" he then let me into the castle. Inside the castle, the walls are made of cold, gray stone. The ceilings are high, with wooden beams crossing above. Long, narrow windows let in streams of sunlight, often filtered through stained glass. Torch brackets line the walls, giving off a warm glow at night. Two maids, rushed out "welcome my lady, I am Dorothy, and this is Cathy. We are going to be your personal maids, helping you with whatever you need", Dorothy said with a bright smile on her face, she was a pretty young lady, not too tall but average height had a blond hair which she packed into a bun and had on gown and an apron tied around her waist she was light in complexion, and had big brown eyes that matches her nice symmetrical face. Cathy on the other hand, was a short but beautiful young lady, who had a nice thick black hair packed into a nice bun. She also had on a gown, with an apron tied around her waist, she's endowed with a nice shape, which could be seen through the gown she had on, and the apron rested prettily on her bum. They accompanied me to my room, The main hall is large and open, with a long wooden table in the center and a big fireplace at one end. Above the fireplace hangs a faded tapestry or a shield bearing the royal crest. The stone floor is partly covered by thick rugs to keep the cold away.

Rooms branch off the main hall—some are for dining, others for meetings or rest. The throne room is grander, with tall columns, bright banners, and the king's seat raised on a small platform.

Narrow staircases twist up into towers, leading to bedrooms, numbering about sixteen bedrooms in total.

Mine was the sixth room on the left hand side of the hall.
