Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"Let's go take a walk shall we little purple..."

‎That was not a question either. As soon as the table was cleared, I felt an arm snake around my waist leading me forward. This time also I didn't miss how I was placed at his left, separated from Don, who, walked by his right.

‎ Why would they want to bring me around when they knew I was planning to escape and every route they showed me now would be an upper hand I shall have when planning my next escape route later.

‎ After a few minutes of silent and tense walking though, I came to understand.

‎We had arrived at what seemed to be a cemetery and reading the names of the fresh graves that faced me, my hear almost jumped out it's place.

They brought me here to instill fear.

An act every slave master did to a stubborn slave.

‎Abigail, the chatter box who had been sent to entertain me, Timothy, the guard I had tricked on that day to escape, then Ben, John,Kwasi,Sam, so many names, so many men and women more than I could count on my own toes and fingers as I went around watching the names on the grave stones.

‎I turned to look behind me, my eyes searching the ones of the monsters that stood behind me, watching and waiting to confirm what was going on was merely a joke, a trick of the mind. And when all I was met with was pure derailed curiosity and venomous eyes, I knew this was no joke. The guards the workers, the slaves, the people from whom I had escaped under their watch were all gone. Buried and gone. Did they have families? Were they also like her papa. They hadn't offended anyone and yet they had met the same end . Maybe their kids had waited up for their return, just as I had with my mama and sister. I am Nineteen now and I'm still a long way from forgetting my dad's body had never returned and all we'd received was a letter.

‎ My glare and tears were uncontrollable as I watched the monsters that now owned me. How could they, they were their people! Kantama never hurt it's own people right?!

But then again I'd been kidnapped for no better reason.

‎Dan's grin returned again on his face ....

‎Do not worry, the few who had helped you are still being... punished.

‎This time I found absolutely nothing cheerful about that smile.

‎I watched them, pure terror, I could tell, now etched on my face. Never had I seen such massacre of ones own people, not when they had done nothing to offend them.

"‎They... They did nothing wrong..."

‎I don't know where I found my voice but I knew I just had to make that clear to them...

‎I watched him take slow steps as he approached me, my legs too weak to move away. You're terribly wrong darling;

‎They let you escape, that's too grave a sin to be ignored.

‎His outstretched hand didn't reach me though as I collapsed on my feet, the sudden action startling not just him but myself. My legs had given in, they shivered too much until they lost their strength.

‎" Why...H...How .... ‎You're monsters!" *(Even though I knew everyone in Kantama was no less as devious as a human could be, they were still human to their own people...yet these guys, these psychopaths brutally buried so many of their own men even when they hadn't been at fault. It was my fault. My stupid self had thought I was only being locked up and fed less as punishment for trying to run away... How silly...)

‎I didn't realize my voice had shrunk into a mere whisper until I said that.

"‎Come on now Little purple, we just begun don't get tired yet, we have a long way to go..."

And with that he stared behind at his brother. Dom who I now noticed had his head tipped to the side,

eyes just as venomous as they had been at the dining hall. Hearing Dan's words and seeing the utterly crazed look on Dom's face my stomach dipped. Dipping more when Dan carried me princess style which in my case was a slave to the slaughter not at all a princess.
