He read the message once, then closed it. His pace did not change as he moved through the corridor with other students, blending into the after-class flow. No one looked at him twice.
That was good.
The administrative wing sat apart from the academic halls, quieter, cleaner, designed to feel neutral. Neutral spaces discouraged emotion. Emotion complicated compliance.

It wasn't a question meant to be answered honestly.
"I have no complaints," he said.

He was dismissed moments later.
Outside the office, the corridor felt narrower than before. The academy had not acted—but it had acknowledged him.
