Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23, THE AWAKENING BEYOND DEATH

Inside the cave, everything had changed.

The flames no longer raged like before—they had quieted… subdued, as if bowing before an unseen and overwhelming presence. The molten lava flowing through the cracks of the walls had slowed, its glow dimmer, weaker. The air, once sharp and burning like fragments tearing through the lungs, had turned heavy—oppressive, suffocating, and filled with an eerie stillness that felt unnatural.

And yet—

within that suffocating silence—

something had not ended.

KRRISH.

He was still standing.

His body was shattered.

His breathing was unstable, fragile, almost fading.

And his chest… the place where his heart had been torn out… was now empty.

A hollow void.

And still—

he did not fall.

His fingers trembled slightly. Slowly, painfully, his hand clenched into a fist… tighter… tighter.

As if he was gathering every last drop of strength that remained within him.

Not for survival.

Not for victory.

But for one final act of defiance.

And then—

he moved.

The attack he launched was imperfect.

It carried no elegance.

No overwhelming force.

But it held something far greater—

a final refusal.

A final resistance.

A final scream against fate itself—

that this… was not the end.

Phoenix watched him approach.

This time, there was no reaction.

No surprise.

No anger.

No curiosity.

Only a cold, silent acceptance.

As if the outcome had already been decided.

Phoenix extended its hand—

and caught KRRISH in mid-air.

The grip was made of living fire, powerful enough to erase existence itself—but KRRISH did not react.

Pain no longer mattered.

He had crossed that boundary.

Phoenix lifted him slowly, effortlessly… like lifting something that had already lost its meaning.

And then—

without emotion—

it threw him.

KRRISH's body tore through the air with violent force—

and crashed directly into the throne of fire.

The impact echoed like thunder trapped inside stone.

The throne trembled.

For the first time—

it became unstable.

Flames scattered violently, losing their perfect structure for a brief moment.

As if something sacred… had been disturbed.

Because this throne was no ordinary construct.

It was a symbol—

of dominance over fire.

Of absolute authority.

It was said—

only one could sit upon it…

the one before whom even flames would bow.

KRRISH's body fell to the ground.

Lifeless.

Still.

But in that exact moment—

the flames trembled.

Barely.

So faint that no ordinary being could perceive it.

But—

Black Dragon did.

He stood at a distance, watching everything unfold.

Until now, he had remained silent, detached.

But something changed.

A memory surfaced within him.

Slowly.

Clearly.

The moment—

when KRRISH had defeated him.

KRRISH could have destroyed him.

Could have enslaved him.

Could have broken his very existence.

But instead—

he had extended his hand.

And said—

"You are not my slave… you are my ally."

That single moment—

shattered something deep inside Black Dragon.

His eyes trembled.

And for the first time—

tears formed.

A being who had never bowed… never felt… never cared—

was shaken from within.

Meanwhile—

Phoenix spoke calmly,

"I know… there is still power within you…"

Its voice was deep. Controlled.

But what followed—

was colder than death itself.

"And yet… even with that power… you lost."

The words spread through the cave like a silent judgment.

And then—

another voice broke through.

"Easy for you to say."

The Nine-Tailed Fox stepped forward, its gaze sharp, unwavering.

"You broke your seal."

The air tightened instantly.

Phoenix remained silent.

The Fox continued,

"That seal… the one placed by God himself… you broke it using the power of the key."

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

Then—

Phoenix nodded.

"Yes."

No regret.

No hesitation.

"You could have done the same."

But Black Dragon—

was no longer listening.

His entire focus was on KRRISH.

The broken body.

The stillness.

The near-death state.

And in that moment—

something inside him broke.

An energy emerged.

Strange.

Deep.

Beyond comprehension.

It was neither darkness nor light.

It was something else.

Something that did not belong to either.

It began to leak out from within him—

but before anyone could understand it—

everything changed.

The cave—

shifted completely.

The air grew heavier.

The flames bent downward.

The light dimmed.

And all of it—

was coming from KRRISH.

Moments ago—

he had been at the edge of death.

Now—

something else was awakening.

Something far more dangerous.

At the same time—

KRRISH found himself somewhere else.

A void.

Endless.

Silent.

Nothing existed there—

except darkness.

And before him—

stood a figure.

Black Shadow.

Its eyes held no light.

Yet they saw everything.

A faint smile appeared on its face.

"I didn't expect… that I would have to come out this soon."

Its voice echoed from every direction at once.

"I am helping you…"

It stepped closer.

"But your problems are about to increase."

KRRISH remained silent.

Barely conscious.

Barely existing.

The Shadow continued,

"The moment I step out… the others will try to follow."

The darkness around them trembled slightly.

"And your truth…"

Its gaze deepened.

"…will begin to reveal itself. Slowly."

KRRISH's breath grew heavier.

"The power that hides you…"

"…will start to weaken."

Then—

it leaned closer.

Close enough that its presence felt suffocating.

"And God…"

its voice dropped into a whisper—

"will begin to watch you."

For a moment—

everything stopped.

Time.

Thought.

Existence itself.

And then—

KRRISH collapsed.

Unconscious.

In that instant—

Black Shadow disappeared.

Reality returned.

Back in the cave—

something impossible began to happen.

KRRISH's body—

which had been completely broken—

began to heal.

Rapidly.

Unnaturally.

His wounds closed.

His breathing stabilized.

And in Phoenix's hand—

the heart—

turned into ash.

Phoenix's expression changed.

For the first time—

it felt something unfamiliar.

Something wrong.

Deeply wrong.

And then—

KRRISH's eyes opened.

But—

he was no longer the same.

There was something else within his gaze.

Something ancient.

Something dangerous.

Something that did not belong to this world.

He did not speak.

He did not move.

He simply—

opened his eyes completely.

And in that instant—

a terrifying pressure spread across the entire cave.

The air froze.

The flames bent downward.

The ground trembled violently.

This was not an attack.

It was a warning.

A declaration.

To Phoenix—

that it had chosen the wrong opponent.

Black Dragon stepped back instinctively.

The Nine-Tailed Fox lowered its head.

Because this—

was no longer a battle.

It had become something else.

Something far beyond their understanding.

And far beyond that place—

beyond realms, beyond dimensions—

another presence observed everything.

Mahadev

Mahadev watched as the Black Shadow began to emerge beyond its limits.

His expression remained calm—

but his gaze carried the weight of inevitability.

"You already know…" he said, his voice echoing across existence itself,

"from this moment onward… his troubles will double."

"The gods will begin to notice him."

"He will no longer remain hidden."

A brief silence followed.

Then—

"I know your decision is not wrong."

"But it is one that will invite greater danger."

His gaze deepened slightly.

"You should have revealed yourself after a hundred years…"

"That would have been better."

But now—

that time was gone.

The choice had been made.

And the consequences—

had already begun.

Back in the cave—

KRRISH stood there, unmoving.

But no longer broken.

No longer weak.

He had become something else.

Not just a warrior.

Not just a survivor.

But a vessel.

A gateway.

To something far more terrifying than death itself.

And as the flames continued to bow—

and the air remained frozen in fear—

one truth became undeniable—

the world had just taken its first step…

into darkness that even gods could not fully control.
