Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Chase (Part 2)

"I shouldn't have eaten so much magic marsh frog meat!"

Chen suppressed the urge to vomit; there was no time for that now.

He had to constantly dodge the attacks from the Drake-Hound cavalry on both sides. Powder was also dizzy from being spun around, her aim was terrible, and her bullets were just flying wildly, all hitting the rafters.

Powder grumbled irritably:

"Why are these big dogs faster than the hoverboard?!"

Chen was helpless:

"Those are Drake-Hounds!"

After all, Drake-Hounds still had some dragon blood, so they were indeed fast.

Chen had a sudden idea and flew straight down, reaching a spot not far from the road, weaving through the Noxus crowd below:

"Make way! Make way!"

The hoverboard was still quite agile, darting back and forth through the crowd.

The Drake-Hound cavalry above also jumped down. The Noxus guards scared the common people, who quickly fled to both sides.

But the Drake-Hounds were too fast, accidentally crashing into citizens or vendors. The guards didn't care about the lives of the common people, simply trampling their way through.

Chen looked back and strongly condemned:

"Do you Noxus soldiers treat your own people like this?"

Chen had thought that in a crowded place, they would show some consideration for the common people, but he didn't expect them to just charge through, completely disregarding lives.

Chen shouted to Powder:

"Duck."

Then he flew into a window by the roadside. This was a bar, immediately packed with people. Chen flew directly over their heads, keeping his own head low, and exited through another window.

The Drake-Hound cavalry immediately followed into the bar, but it was overflowing with people, making it impossible for the Drake-Hounds to pass through.

"Damn it!"

The Drake-Hound cavalry captain cursed loudly, then led his men out of the bar. Fortunately, Drake-Hounds were still dogs, and they had the ability to track people by scent.

They followed Chen's scent.

But Chen had already shaken them off a good distance. However, at that moment, on a rooftop ahead, stood a man in a linen robe. He held a staff much taller than himself and slowly chanted:

"Fire elementals filling the world, heed my call, bind the body of my enemy with your power, stop the steps of my en…"

Blazing flames erupted from the top of the staff, forming fiery snakes that writhed in the air.

But before he could utter the last word of'steps,' before he could finish his incantation, Chen had already rushed up to his face and knocked him over with an axe swing:

"Such a long incantation, what kind of third-rate mage dares to block me?"

But the fire snakes had already formed. Three and a half fire snakes, their bodies made of twisting flames, wrapped around Chen. This was the first time Chen had encountered a true mage.

Janna was a wind elemental, not a mage.

Chen could feel the heat of the fire snakes on his body, but with the Turbo Chemtank, his magic resistance was no longer just 19. The flames burned his body, but he had no countermeasure now, only able to endure it.

Two seconds later, the fire snakes finally dissipated, but Chen's upper garment had been completely burned away, his sturdy muscles exposed to the air. There were several obvious burn marks on his body.

Powder watched, heartbroken. She also noticed that Chen had used his arms to block the fire snakes, preventing them from climbing onto her.

Fortunately, they were not far from the Hexgate. Chen carried Powder and rushed onto the Hexgate.

The Hexgate had not yet closed, so Chen directly plunged into it with Powder.

But at that moment, a Crow appeared before the Hexgate.

Suddenly, the Crow's feathers dissipated into the air, and beneath the veil of black feathers, a man appeared before the Hexgate.

This man had a hooked nose and stark white hair. The word 'ruthless' seemed etched on his face. He wore dark black armor and a dark cloak.

The black cloak covered his left hand, but a faint red glow could be seen emanating from behind it.

Chen stopped the hoverboard, frowning. The man before him was not like the third-rate mage from before.

This man was Swain!

He was the future Grand General of Noxus, possessing powerful demonic energy, and he was about to overthrow the Noxus government!

Chen tightened his grip on the battle axe, took a deep breath, and said to Swain:

"I don't care about your Noxus affairs. Let me go back."

But Swain scoffed disdainfully, looking at Chen fiercely:

"Is Noxus a place you can just come and go as you please?"

"Swain, listen, I don't want to get involved in your Noxus mess."

Chen gripped his axe tightly, ready to force his way through.

But at that moment, a Hexgate guard nearby heard the sound and walked over:

"Who's there?"

But when he saw Swain, he flinched and took two steps back:

"Sw-Swain, weren't you discharged from the military…?"

Swain directly flicked his cloak, extending his blood-red demonic left hand. With a sweep to the left, five streams of demonic power flew from his five fingers.

The demonic power, like blood-red electricity, directly pierced the chest of the unfortunate guard, leaving a fist-sized bloody hole in his body.

Swain took half a step forward, staring at Chen, and said faintly:

"You don't want to get involved? Then why did you help Talon find Du Couteau, and you seem to have a good relationship with Urgot. I can't trust your words."

"If I let you go back, and you bring the forces of Piltover and Zaun to take advantage of the situation, wouldn't my great Noxus suffer a huge loss?"

Chen looked at Swain without showing weakness:

"So all of this was part of your plan? Harming Urgot, then telling Talon the news of Urgot in Zaun? Using Talon's desire to find Du Couteau to trick Talon away, so that there would be no more obstacles to you within Noxus, and your coup plan could be foolproof?"

Swain raised his left hand and smiled at Chen:

"You're right. I not only plotted against him, but also against all of Runeterra, and against you! It was I who told Silco the location of The Last Drop."

"I originally thought the Twin Cities could fight for a long time, but your appearance disrupted my plan. I didn't expect Silco to actually lose to you."

"I also didn't expect you to be able to defeat Piltover. Originally, after Talon killed Urgot, he would at least stay in Zaun for a long time to investigate Du Couteau's whereabouts, but you made Talon return early."

"You disobedient boy!"

At this moment, Powder had already raised her Fishbones, ready for battle, and Chen was also prepared to charge.

But Swain did not attack. Instead, he slowly extended his left hand:

"Ordinary people aren't worth me revealing my schemes to, are they? You are the first. I can spare your life."

Then Swain took two steps forward, stopping in front of Chen, looking down at him, and uttered an oppressive command:

"Obey me."
